  1. I would argue when you view the whole context of Oz/Eith, that he would be an Elsecaller, because he doesn't dislike rules, he wants to change them to be what he envisions they could be. In other words he's a visionary who will never stop. I see that as Elsecaller. For the rest though, yeah, Orthos wouldn't have an order. I put him in Lightweaver because he tries to understand his dragony-ness. Yerin, I think, also wouldn't be a radiant for most of her career, until she does become a Skybreaker. That is my argument, I stand with it. This is a fun topic though, isn't it?
  2. When it comes to cradle, I find the character arcs similar to the stormlight archive. In that vein, below I will share what order I think they would be, and then I really, really, want to hear how you agree/disagree. Time to start. Lindon - Dustbringer Yerin- Skybreaker Mercy - Edgedancer Ziel - Windrunner/Stoneware Orthos - Lightweaver (LB wouldn't have an order YET I think) Eithan/Ozmanthus - Elsecaller What did I get right and wrong?
  3. Have you been able to acquire a copy?
  4. I recently acquired a pdf.
  5. I think it's called a moon, but regardless, Braize definitely is. I'm pretty sure that's part of the world. The other planets are called moons.
  6. But they aren't in shadesmar, that's my point. That's Oathbringer.
  7. Your thinking of the wrong book lol
  8. Putting WoR at the bottom is sacrilege
  9. I'd say it depends on whether the discussion is lore or gameplay. If you were to discuss the new oaths revealed, or how the game deals with certain powers, it would be very on topic. So long as that's the focus.
  10. No, take for example this fact, Ashyn is a planet, and one of the moons. Ashyn did not have the same investiture forms as Roshar. Braize likewise has its own investiture forms. They then, as different planets, with different invested systems, would not follow the investiture system of Roshar.
  11. Not likely. The Shin are largely set apart from Rosharan society, and in addition, do not view the concept of slaves the same way. Slaves are soldiers in their society. I doubt that they would use parshmen
  12. I really want to see gravitation + abrasion
  13. There are answers to this, soulcasting fabrials being more restricted in material for example, or the unnecessary gemstone toll required for a minor output increase, but in the end it's because that's the way Brandon's world needed to be.
  14. Yes, I agree, you do sound crazy. You have a point, the use of investiture is similair, but heritage, no. I think this is solely related to investiture mechanics.
  15. I believe her oath will mirror Lopens. I will fight oppression, even if it comes from me, or to me.
  16. I really love this theory, and it's now one of my favorites. Great job, let's read and find out.
  17. I would argue that these traits he embodies moreso make him fit into stoneward, and his nature would also incline him to joining edgedancer. Would you agree/disagree? Thoughts?
  18. I would say the general Adolin arc was easilly the best part of the book.
  19. Ah, oops, I was unaware that thread existed.
  20. This is a post to simply ask your opinion. Share any thoughts you want. For me I'd rate the books in the following order, though to be clear, I like them all: 1. Words of Radiance 2. The Way of Kings 3. Rythm of War 4. Wind and Truth 5. Oathbringer I could see the last two going either way for me, and I still like them, just not as much as 1-3. How would you rate them?
  21. When observing the platespren I noted something discordent, at least to my eyes. Here are the list of platespren: The only type missing from this chart, but still confirmed, are the Bondsmiths, with gloryspren. Everything was symmetrical until the Stoneward and Truthwatcher plates came out. What do I mean by symmetrical? The emotion/nature dichotomy was evenly split in two hemispheres by the orders. It fit everything we knew. Then there's Truthwatcher, which would have had to have a nature-spren, and Stoneward, which 100% should have had a emotion-spren. What's happening? Did Sanderson just not care about this. Thoughts?
  22. Yes, I received a pdf actually from a very kind total stranger online.
  23. "Eithan...well, Eithan would probably want to be a Willshaper." Eithan is an interesting character and to all who have read the books, I'd like to discuss it further. He's clearly a Willshaper, Lightweaver, or Elsecaller, but which I'm not sure. Truthwatcher would be another option, if we look at the Osmanthus Aurelius side of him, but less likely in my eyes. Why do you put him as primarily Willshaper, and to others, what are your thoughts?
  24. I'm sooo curious about the mechanics of the surges, and how they work, and the new lore, but obviously I can't find out how they work in the new game. It's driving me crazy. This really is sad. I can't justify buying the game just to get the lore, and I can't justify buying the game when I have nobody to play it with. Storms!
  25. Alright, so we all love Dragonsteels Order Quiz. It's fun and simple. That said, their are problems. The quiz for example has the same variables with the same importance for everybody. What if you consider yourself a guard dog edgedancer? What if you believe ends justify the means as a skybreaker. Many of the questions drown out what is important to each order. The long and short of it is that I think I solved this problem with the quiz I made: https://uquiz.com/u09BQ4 I hope you guys like it, and did you get the order you thought you would? If not, what order did it give you vs what order you think you are, and why do you think you are that order? And thanks for taking the quiz. Not many people have complained about the old one, but the problems with it really irked me. https://uquiz.com/u09BQ4
