So Nomad seems to have wanted to rid himself of his Torment for years. So I was wondering, since you can nonlethally spike someone now, why didn't he just use a nicrosil spike, since both sunhearts and nicrosil spikes seem to have the ability to remove Investiture?

Is that a Sanderson reference?!?!?!?!
Hmmm lies replied to Hmmm lies's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
After a phone call abruptly ended, they let me know that we lost connection, obvious realmatic reference, also an Elantris reference because phone calls. -
If Brandon Sanderson Wrote Other Authors' Novels
Hmmm lies replied to Authorspren's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Oooh what about The Wheel of Time oh wait... In all seriousness, for LOTR there would be no details on languages, and everything Gandalf does would be completely explained, and the ringwraiths would likely be revived to help fight Sauron, who would be a morally ambiguous character. -

Read a really bad book, likely a Mythwalker reference. I both breathed and saw color today, so clearly a Warbreaker reference -
Basically, we state various things, and explain what they are references to. Examples I saw a stick, pretty sure it's a Stormlight reference Saw some metal the other day, obvious Mistborn reference I heard many people are investing in stocks these days, clear reference to Realmatics

You're wondering about the Bondsmith plushies? What about the Truthwatcher ones? Would be cool if the Mistborn deckbuilding game had Era 2 stuff as well.

Who do you think will be the big bad of the cosmere?
Hmmm lies replied to Hmmm lies's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Oooh, Harmony/Discord would be cool, but Odium I doubt, I feel he will likely be defeated in Stormlight 10 somehow. -
So my personal guess is Kelsier, due to Brandon stating the last cosmere stuff will be Mistborn Era 4, and Kelsier is from Mistborn, I also feel he would just love to turn a former favorite character against us, it would also be cool to see former Ghostbloods maybe turn against him. Autonomy I feel has been rather mysterious, and is still active after Mistborn Era 2, so she could do that. I don't think it will be someone new, but considering there are still like 20 books to go, it's still a possibility.

What is a question you would ask for a WoB if you could?
Hmmm lies replied to Walter The Moral's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Here are the questions I would want to ask: Will there be more content on Lumar/Komashi/Canticle? Have humans evolved naturally on any planets? Could another Shard cause someone to Return, using a different form of Investiture than a divine Breath? Is there really a planet where pancake-like beings communicate with farts like Hoid mentioned? -
So I was wondering how stealing things with Hemalurgic spikes would work on someone who was changed by Forgery after it wears off. If you stabbed Shaizan (Shai with her warrior Essence Mark) with an iron spike, would it steal her relative strength, but then lower in strength after the Forgery would wear off? (I also have a theory that you could Forge a Misting into a different type of Misting, due to both having Preservations Investiture in their spiritweb) If you Forged a Coinshot to be a Thug, then stole their Allomancy with a steel spike, would the spike grant pewter-burning until the Forgery wears off, then give steel-burning? More interestingly, what if the original type doesn't conform to the metal, i.e. Forging a Rioter to be a Thug, and stealing that with a steel spike, after it wore off, would the brass Allomancy disappear, or somehow be in a steel spike. I did find this WoB but it doesn't really state what happens after it wears off.

That is probably the craziest, most reckless thing I've ever heard someone say—and I was literally part of a secret plot to kill goat.

I do love F-copper, although F-duralumin would need to be unkeyed to be really useful, you can only store Connection with things you are already Connected to, so you couldn't just learn new languages. F-tin I would love mostly so I could taste delicious foods even more. I suppose when F-tin is more like 5 different things, it does get a bit higher. Still, I think F-bronze should be one of the best, you basically get to have your sleep schedule be whatever you want. (Also for 14 I think you mean electrum)

Well if Wit finds out about it (please don't spoil SA 5 preview chapters) he could tell Dalinar about it. Still, it is unlikely that either would predict he would choose himself. Or perhaps he could get an avatar of Autonomy, the two Shards are supposed to be friends. Still, is this really what tOdium wants? I would guess he would want to escape the contract as a whole.

You're so much of a drab that you would be considered pitiful in Idris
-
Still, I feel like Nightblood might object to that, and if it felt Szeth was being evil, it could take over Szeth and stab tOdium. I figure there is some sort of deal Odium made in the past that stops him from harming humans directly, and those deals as seen persist between Vessels, so yeah still unlikely that he can be his own champion. But if he could, what if Dalinar chose Wit, and since neither can harm the other, they just are at a standstill.
-
What if... Taravangian. If Dalinar can be his own champion, why not Odium? Does anything stop him from manifesting in the Physical Realm? He could definitely win, as a Shard, unless Dalinar got Szeth with Nightblood instead.

Are you sure you're not a Lightweaving or is it really possible for a human to look that ugly. You're such a joke you would make a good Vessel for Whimsy Well actually *puts on explanation voice* a Lashing changes the direction of gravity, and since gravity works on the whole amount of weight, it doesn't matter how heavy the object is.

I did find this WoB, just a RAFO but no explicit denial.

In the Ars Arcanum for TLM, we see the effects of the 16 metals on Allomancy and Feruchemy and Hemalurgy. However, for Chromium, rather than saying "Steals X" it instead says "Might steal destiny". Why would Khriss not know, surely experimentation would happen. I suppose they are not sure exactly what the effect is, but still, destiny is not exactly a thing that makes sense to steal. The only real concept of destiny in the Cosmere are the Returned, and even then it's shaky. I wonder if it actually does steal Fortune, or the ability to access it, and most people just have so little that they have not noticed the effects, other than the Hemalurgist showing up in places the spiked would have otherwise or something. All in all, I feel that if it really stole destiny, it would have just said so, rather than saying it might. Any ideas?

You're so salty that all aethers die around you. You're so cold that you can't fill a brassmind You're such a nobody that every metalmind you make is unkeyed

How was it possible to kill Adonalsium?
Hmmm lies replied to Hmmm lies's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I was actually referring to the same Tress quote, as well as this here also from Tress, mentioning that the plot was secret (not as much evidence). It's implied that Hoid said the first quote when Adonalsium was about to die (or to his CS, assuming he has one), and I doubt Hoid would say that if Adonalsium already knew. I like the idea of him being insane, that would likely mess with Fortune, or at least cause him to not act on it properly. Interesting about someone trying to destroy him before, it could still be that he thought the Vessels would do better with the power, I do want to know more about this now. We only have confirmation on two Invested Arts prior to the Shattering, Lightweaving and microkinesis, but it is possible and likely that there are more, so the Vessels having access to Fortune is a very viable theory. I just also came up with an idea, what if the Dawnshards as they worked in the past were used somehow to channel the power from Adonalsium into the Vessels, considering the way they absorb Investiture (No more merit to this theory then any other though, we just don't know enough). I suppose one question is did the people attempting to kill Adonalsium the first time use the Dawnshards as they existed then, or some other way. -
I was thinking about how 17 people killed Adonalsium, and how they did it. Although it is true they had the most powerful weapons in existence, Adonalsium was most likely the most Invested being in the Cosmere. Now it is possible the Dawnshards are more powerful, but there is still one confusing thing. All of the Shards seem to have access to Fortune, or the ability to see the future, or possible outcomes at least. So by that logic, shouldn't Adonalsium have had incredibly powerful access to Fortune, and could therefore foresee the Shards coming to kill him? I suppose there are 3 possibilities No matter what happened, the Shattering, or something even worse to Adonalsium would happen The Shards got access to Fortune somehow Or, I think the most interesting, Adonalsium foresaw the Shattering, and let it happen I figure the last theory is unlikely, the Shards most likely knew about his access to Fortune, and would have planned accordingly, and some things Hoid say make it seem like Adonalsium was not happy with the whole thing.
