  1. 1. Sunlit Exciting cosmere stuff, awesome depth of character, wonderfully paced. Also I'm a sucker for sci-fi. 2. Tress Actually might be my favorite; it was so hard to pick between it and Sunlit. ToTES is just so unique in its style, plus all the characters are incredibly likeable. 3. Yumi Also very good, though the story itself wasn't as engaging to me. Super cool worldbuilding. 4. Frugal A delightful read just bursting with creativity, but most of the characters felt unmemorable and not very interesting. (The main character arc was great, other than all the introspection. I would have preferred full flashbacks instead of him just realizing things about his past.)
  2. That's awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product
  3. You're right, I didn't think about that aspect of it
  4. Sure, but what will "magic users" even mean at that point? Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the future I suspect that having multiple types of abilities/magic systems will become more standard than having a single one. (Except for cases like the Radiants being stuck on Roshar, but that could change.)
  5. YKYASFW you switch to High Imperial when talking to a non-Sanderfan and they look at you like you're ising the having of crazy
  6. True. But to be fair, if another Shard were to create a race the same way Preservation did, Invention seems like the obvious one. I mean, it's in the name.
  7. I'd wanna see one from a Radiant Spren (not Syl cause she's already had one.) Pattern, Maya, or Glys?
  8. Ooh, that's a really cool idea. Especially if you can't tell the difference between a regular and a corrupted Floran until you try it. I think a planet settled by Invention could be cool. Maybe people would use investiture to power their machines somehow? Idk
  9. Really? No one took this perfect username? Guess it's mine now.

  10. Alright everyone, it's time to post your most far-fetched cosmere theories and try to support them as best you can. I'll go first: The first sentence of The Final Empire, "Ash fell from the sky," is actually referring to Shalash, who found a way to get offworld. The version of her on Roshar is actually a Lightweaving. I've got no WoBs or evidence, but STILL! (Don't take any of these seriously, by the way.)
  11. Chemtrails: Obviously Stormlight isn't real and the Radiants are just using it to spread around their nefarious chemical and biological agents. Yumi and the Nightmare Painter
  12. If Pat Rothfuss wrote The Final Empire: Vin would have red hair. After living on the streets for years, Vin would search out Kelsier's crew and have to prove herself to make it in, instead of them just recruiting her. When Kelsier was done training Vin, he would move to Terris and never show up again. Burning metals would require years of study and practice to even begin using it. Kandra would be vegetarian.
  13. Ooh, that would be cool. Although, we would need a way for the highstorms to come back eventually, cause there's no way the series would just stop having Surgebinding altogether. So with hints in RoW about Deadeyes being revived, this theory is made even stronger.
  14. I'd choose Nalthis, partly cause Hallandren sounds like a really nice place to live, and partly because I'd get a Breath! And maybe get more Breaths somehow. But also, Ashyn used to be really Earth-like, right?... Hmmmmm
  15. Mistborn Era 1 and SA are real close for me, but Stormlight wins out of sheer epicness.
  16. Taravangian all the way. His story and his struggle to make decisions was a really interesting part of SA. Plus I really enjoy seeing the antagonist's perspective on things rather than them being just plain evil.
  17. No surprise that Adolin took most of the votes. But Rock would have come in second for me if he was on here.
  18. Good points. We have seen that kind of thing in other series, specifically when But if Kaladin does end up as Honor, what does that mean for his 5th ideal...?
  19. I would draw a 1x1 inch square of forbiddance on my wall and use it as a chin-up bar. I don't know how the physics of that would work. Like, can the "force fields" created by the forbiddance lines hold weight if they were sideways?
  20. I'm excited for the Szeth flashbacks. And more Szeth viewpoint. And Szeth in general. I really like Szeth, don't know if you could tell.
  21. I really appreciate the new voice that's used! I don't know about you guys, but I like seeing Brandon exploring new areas and styles of stories. Reminded me a lot of Terry Pratchett with the narrator being a lot more aware of the wider universe than the characters are.
  22. Vin was OP. I prefer the way Era 2 does it where the main character(s) don't have a whole slew of powers. Maybe that's not actually unpopular, I don't know. She's still a well-written character though, as far as character arc.
  23. Good ol' xkcd.
  24. So I exist. That's exciting. I've read the whole cosmere except Elantris and Era 2 of Mistborn. Just started Alloy of Law though. Do you guys think I should read Elantris before all the Wax and Waynes or after? I've heard mixed opinions on it.
