  1. “Breakneck, Kabers, Michim, any Rosharan gambling game. those are the ones we have now, before The Change.”
  2. “Whaddaya want.” The man rasps. “Metalminds? Food?” “Come on, play a game!”
  3. "HEY!!!" An Elan-Heckler shouts, "GET BETTER!!!" @Edema Rue
  4. The man narrows his eyes. "Want a lower bargain? You win, you both get food and shelter for a day. I win, you give me those last two hundred breaths."
  5. Elan nods. He looks around for things he could use as a weapon.
  6. The Gambler sits alone at a table. He looks like he might be drunk. He smiles at Marewill. "Don't need to pay here." He rasps, gesturing at an already-set-up game of Breakneck. He has multiple stacks of chips, each with different symbols. Some have glowing gemstones embossed on them, others food, some tents.
  7. The man makes a little hm... noise. "How about this: If you lose, one of you will die, but I'll supply the other. 250 breaths, stormlight, metals, whatever they need."
  8. "Hey, It'll be okay. At least this time we're here for you."
  9. "One game of breakneck. You win? I supply you, hide you, split you up, get you surviving to the end. You lose... one of you has to kill the other. A simple deal."
  10. The man shrugs. "If you say so. Hope you have fun impaling a knife in his chest, Sharp."
  11. "Well in some of our cases they're right." Elan says. "And yes. As long as we're alive we can fight and do have that choice."
  12. "That's... not good." Elan said. "I... I won't let them. They won't study me, and they sure as pancakes are delicious won't be studying you."
  13. For sale, baby shoes, never worn.
  14. "Feeling is good. Feel." Elan said. "And... don't kill Almond."
  15. Elan puts an arm around Aventine, but not as a romantic gesture, just to be comforting. "We'll get out of this. I promise."
  16. Elan sits in the corner, nervously tapping his feet. He doesn't like being powerless.
  17. "Oh yes. We would." The yellow-toothed man said. "But, for a game maybe we could delay that... maybe even stop it..."
  18. The man laughs, then hiccups. "You're a funny one, aren't you. Too bad. You'll probably die." He laughs again.
  19. The man rolls a chip between his fingers. "You could get free breaths... stormlight... metals... food... whatever you need." He smiles, his teeth yellow. He takes a swig from his bottle.
  20. The Gambler leaned in the doorway, holding it open for Krin. "Come in, Krin." He rasped.
  21. The Gambler stares at this interaction, staying silent and smiling. He flips a chip up and catches it, repeating this motion.
