Szeth's excuse for Kaladin at the Battle of Narak
Lighteyed Lieutenant replied to Moony47's topic in Stormlight Archive
Welcome to the Shard! I am not exactly sure, but I think Szeth was just trying to deny the possibility that the Radiants had returned. I haven't read this passage in a while, but Szeth was not (completely) insane. It's like when a disaster or crazy event happens and people just try and continue with their normal lives. Szeth was just unhinged. -
The Great Moash Controversy
Lighteyed Lieutenant replied to Lighteyed Lieutenant's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree. Moash saw the real Kaladin, not Kaladin Stormblessed or Highmarshal Kaladin. He saw the vulnerability, and absolutely ripped into it. I think one of the things about Moash that troubles me deeply is how he gave his emotions away. He sold his soul to the devil so he could commit these acts. He should feel at least something, but instead, there's nothing. And the worst part it, he doesn't care. Our emotions are what make us human. And he threw them away. -
The Great Moash Controversy
Lighteyed Lieutenant replied to Lighteyed Lieutenant's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ok, that helps a lot. Thanks! -
Ok, so I just had a friend finish ROW, and I explained the controversy surrounding Moash. I know it's kind of a meme, but I want to know the general leaning of the fandom on this subject. Personally, I cannot forgive him for his crimes against my emotional state, but what do you guys think? Should Moash burn on Braize for the next eternity? Or should he be forgiven and have a redemption arc? Let me know!

In my opinion, I'd want Adolin. He's pretty chill, and would be fun to hang out with. He is a prince, so lots of girls would be at your place all the time, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. He knows how to mend clothes, too, so that's a plus.

Does Hoid like his bacon chewy, or crispy? Is a tri-shard possible? Did Hoid get his Breaths through storing Investiture in Nicrosil and then accessing it as Breaths? Is this even possible? If yes, can it be used in other magic systems? It is said that Ruin is stronger than Preservation. If this is true, then are some shards more powerful than others, or was this imbalance because Preservation was wounded?

I can see some deviousness happening with painspren. Or ruin a collection of important letters with inkspren? Hold a gate or door with bindspren?

Ok, so Brandon has used Keteks to divide up his books for the rest of the SA. There's generally 4-5 sections, each with a part of the Ketek at the end. We know from ROW that SA 5 will take place over about 10 days. How will the book be divided? If the whole book is 10 days, give or take with the ending section, how will it be divided? Will it be two days per section, or more days in one and less in another?

What are you most excited to see in book 5?
Lighteyed Lieutenant replied to Stitof's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm looking forward to seeing how Hoid rebounds from his encounter with Odium. Does he know what's going on? Does he have a contingency plan? How will this affect his plans? -
Ok, who would win in an all out fight? Hoid, with all his powers, all restrictions removed? Or Chuck Norris? What would happen? Where would they fight? Who wins? You create your own story.

Alright, that makes sense. Thanks!

So she lasted a few years, but didn't break immediatly, even though she wasn't as strong as before. Ok, thanks. That makes sense.

Since the Herald (Chanarach) was killed, if she went back to Braise, what happened then? Did she break and that pulled Taln and her back to Roshar? Or something else?
-
If Shallan's mother was a Herald, which one would it be based on what we know, and would Shallan killing her mean that now two Heralds are dead? (Jezerin and Shallan's mother?)

fan art So,if anybody has any SA fanart ideas...

That one moment from Edgedancer where Naln comes to terms with what he has done, or Kaladin, Relain, and Rock sitting together at the Tower as the other Windrunners fly above them. -

Poll: Favorite main character besides Kaladin
Lighteyed Lieutenant replied to Stitof's topic in Stormlight Archive
I chose Dalinar, because of the way his character works. He's a man who's gone to the limit in everything he does. First he fights to unite Alethkar, and with the Thrill, he is totally consumed in the cause. Nothing stops him, not the armies in his way, not facing enemy shardbearers, not even a rockslide falling on him. His whole, his life and soul, are consumed in the fight. And when the fight is over, he has to find something new. Eventually, the fight ends. He turns to drinking and letting himself go. And when he gets to his lowest, he realizes that things have to change. He knows he can't keep destroying himself in an endless spiral. So he finds something new to dedicate himself to, but this time, it's something worth fighting for. And now, he leads the stand of humanity against the dying of the light. Dalinar encapsulates the man I want to become. A man that, even when things are at their worst, can still get back up and rise to heights no one could have though possible. A man that strives to show honor. A man that puts the good of others over his own good. A good man. I also love Adolin, for the reason that he's an everyman. He doesn't want to have to save the world. He'd rather duel and court and enjoy himself. But when the rubber hits the road, he is there. When Kaladin went into shock after Elhokar's death in Oathbringer, Adolin was there to get him to safty. Also in ROW, when Kaladin was spiraling back into depression, Adolin agreed to check on him. Adolin was someone that Shallan could be honest with, who could still love and believe in her despite her flaws. Adolin is a good friend. He cares about the people around him. He may seem like a spoiled noble on the outside, but on the inside, he's a truly caring and dependable friend. Honestly, I'm just team Kholin, but they also have some traits that are so important to have in real life. -
The Big Battle for the Cosmere
Lighteyed Lieutenant replied to Lighteyed Lieutenant's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I just finished reading Arcanum Unbound. It certainly sparked many more theories and ideas.
