    “Where could he be?” ”I don’t know! He runs off like this sometimes…I’m worried.”

    He hugged her, then left. “Mom, what’s wrong? Will you stop yelling?” “Jimmy’s…gone,” she said, loud enough for Rex to hear but not yelling.

    “She was sick, we needed money for medicine. They supplied it.”

    He looks at her, worried. “Do you need me to stay?” ”JIMMY! WHERE ARE YOU!”

    “A lot. What I took from you…that bought us a week.” She’s looked down. “I’m sorry. I had to.”

    “JIMMY!!!” She screams. Daniel sits up straight. “I need to see what’s happening.”

    “I… I have to get money. Otherwise my sister dies.”

    “They can. They will. But I’ll tell you if you truly want it.”

    “Ok.” Her would really like to go up that arch, but if it made her uncomfortable then he wouldn’t. And he didn’t want to meet the same fate as his dad.
