  1. Bloodeye sounds way more Metal
  2. Arguably, in the time Sazed was remaking the world, he wouldn't have known about Hoid or the Ire, so by extension the words of founding shouldn't have either. It's possible he only knew of Vin and Kelsier holding Preservation because the power itself has a history of what its done
  3. I think really the only way you could do that is through executions, or maybe donations from the terminally ill. The Mistwraiths have existed the way they have for a long time, so I think ethically it's fine to leave them as they are, but if it's possible to help one become a Kandra (through donated or execution spikes) then it should be done
  4. How am I just finding out MAG had an entire list of Twinborn names??? It isn't cannon, but it has some pretty good ones in there. Should've considered these ones, no?
  5. We already have one, no? We see MeLaan's perspective as a Mistwraith after her spikes are removed in BoM, where she knows that something is horribly wrong with her, but she doesn't have the mental capacity to figure out what, and she's reduced to the base urges of "Hide and eat" Edit: Mistwraiths aren't immortal by the way, they had a lifespan of about 50 years during Era 1 Edit 2: Not two seconds after I made the previous edit, it was made redundant
  6. I have to disagree a little here. I think you can Riot emotions that aren't there originally (soothing them is beyond useless since they're already not there). Take your example of energetic guards, you could Riot their sense of tiredness, but it just wouldn't be effective, since they're fresh. I think the main reason this misconception happens I because our primary introduction to Emotional Allomancy is Breeze, and he's a Soother, who therefore can't create emotions that aren't there. We see Allrianne Riot a group of bandits' chivalry, which I very much doubt existed before she Rioted them, and in your own example of Vin, she Riots a group of guards' sense of anger and irritability, which, when considering they were sitting around doing nothing, again probably didn't exist earlier, so either Vin got very lucky and just happened to pick a group of guards who were irritable, or she Rioted emotions into existence. In general, I would say Soothing and Rioting are equally effective since you can kind of achieve the same thing either way. To make a guard angry, Riot his anger, or Soothe everything but his anger. In the same vein, To make a guard not angry, Soothe his anger, or Riot everything but his anger. The only real difference is Rioting's inability to actually remove an emotion, and Soothing's inability to create one. The most a Rioter can do to calm someone who's angry is Riot all their emotions other than anger plus Rioting calmness. The most a Soother can do to make someone who's calm angry is Soothe everything but their anger, irritability, etc. tl;dr They're pretty much equally matched, but Rioters can't efficiently calm someone down, and Soothers can't efficiently rile someone up. In both situations, they could manage by being creative with the emotions they can affect, but it would be much easier to just have the other power in some circumstances. A Soother could calm someone down effortlessly, and a Rioter could rile someone up equally easily, but vice versa, they have to use roundabout methods.
  7. I'd say a fresh perspective would be useful for a discussion like this, considering how speculative most of it is, so instead of not including any we've already discussed, maybe just read over what we said and only include something we didn't talk about? and you can't have any worse of a grasp on Resonances than we do, practically every other one we come up with it "Heightened Awareness" of such and such, so really it can only help us to see some more outlandish ones to help broaden our horizons. The Enhancement/Spiritual quadrant is pretty mind-numbing, but that's part of why this is fun, and since we're not likely to see the vast, vast majority of Twinborns, and only have limited information to go on them anyway, it might be fun to add sections to the summaries and analyses where we consider more unlikely (within reason) possibilities, just to see how far we could stretch them. If @Koloss17 agrees, I'm hyped to check out the ones you've had cooking!
  8. If @Koloss17 doesn't mind, I'd personally love it if you posted some of those on here, Twinborn combos are fun.
  9. Informant seems like a fitting name for this one! Secretkeeper sounds very cool as well, but it's a bit on the nose and might be a better fit for something like a Copper Compounder, who could resist Emotional Allomancy and keep all their facts straight.
  10. We could go back and forth on how useful F-Copper would be to learn things that aren't strictly scholastic, but again, that isn't my main point. I do wonder though, being an Electrum Compounder (or just a regular Pinnacle) could potentially be very useful for someone diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. Store determination during mania, tap it during depression. Possible use for Electrum Medallions??
  11. More than a dictionary, I'd imagine he had the grammar and such in there as well. It may not be quite as proactive as actually knowing how to speak a language, but it's still a big upgrade from not knowing it at all. It does have its limitations though. It doesn't have to necessarily be a book though. F-Copper can store visual memories as well, and auditory ones too. watching a martial arts demonstration and filing that away so it doesn't decay until you can practice/recreate it, plus instructions or tips an actual martial artist could give you, is a much better alternative, for example. My point here wasn't to establish that all Archivists are martial artists in the making, it was to just show how versatile and useful an ability F-Copper is/can be, and how lackluster F-Electrum is by comparison, since Copper is generally seen as one of the weakest metals.
  12. Huh. Good point, I hadn't considered that. Makes me even more excited to read Era 3
  13. Very good analysis, it might not be wholly accurate in terms of how a Shard's Intent affects itself, but otherwise spot on
  14. Saw you only joined a bit ago, so gave you reputation points where I could to help bump you up :)

  15. It can't. There's a WoB on this, I just have no idea how to find and quote it. As for the martial arts, you're absolutely right, but having an entire instructions guideline on it completely committed to memory can only make it easier
  16. We see Sazed has learned some 300 (IIRC) languages using his Copperminds in TFE (and can actively implement them, such as translating Alendi's Logbook), and once you memorize a book about martial arts, you're only consistent training sessions away from being a ninja.
  17. I think by manic it really just means hell-bent on doing something, like determination to the point of mania where you forget about everything else, not the more negative connotations mania has, so there wouldn't be any other alterations in your mental state beyond the determination. Your parallel of controlled Bipolar disorder is spot on, I think. F-Electrum is just one of those powers that would be really good for miscellaneous everyday tasks but isn't super fitting for a book where other people have much flashier powers. It's kind of like Copper, where you can either be in a supporting role or have an ability that's useless in combat, except A-Copper still gives you the passive bonus of being immune to Emotional Allomancy and has funky interactions with other Manifestations of Investiture, and F-Copper gives you superhuman memory, is extremely useful since it lets you become a specialist in every field you can be bothered to read a book about, learn any language, and would be perfect for a mad scientist, detective or practically a Jack of all tricks since you could learn martial arts and such using it. F-Electrum's only advantage is making you really want to do something, and it provides no other supernatural benefits, not to mention you have to spend an equivalent amount of time being depressed to the point of inaction to achieve even that. F-Electrum has its work cut out for it, and while it would certainly have plenty of uses in real life, any uses in-world are gonna be ones that don't make it onto the page. In short, if you're a Pinnacle, don't expect to be the main character of a Sanderson novel anytime soon :/
  18. True, but most people wouldn't be skilled enough to do more than push a flare, and in this case burning between a normal burn and a flare isn't that useful. What would really work here would be burning under a flare, but that's very hard to do and so should be considered impossible for the general populace. Individually though, that would be something people who use this kind of compounding would benefit a lot from by learning
  19. *I rephrased what was said for clairty because it took me quite a few rereads to figure out what was trying to be communicated. If they have the relevant Allomantic power, then absolutely, but their control over it would be very obtuse. Vin, for example, couldn't make herself only as strong as she'd need to, she can only burn or flare her metals (with some very small wiggle room for burning metals lightly) so she would have to find a way to utilise only exactly as much Attribute burning/flaring would give her. So if she burned an unkeyed Pewtermind, she would have to make do with however much bulk that gives her (Let's say +100% while burning, +250% when flaring [not meant to be accurate, just demonstrating]), regardless of if its more or less than she needs. It still is a way for Non-Feruchemists to make use of Feruchemical attributes though, and they do have some limited control of it depending on which metals they burn and whether or not they flare them instead of regular burning, so it's still a useful thing to keep in mind. It's sad they never let Sazed experiment with Aluminium once they realised it was Allomantic, it could have lead to all sorts of Feruchemical shenanigans for Vin and Elend, not to mention giving the Northerners a 300 year headstart on Feruchemical Magictec. Not possible. Trying to access someone else's Metalminds is like trying to open a lock with the wrong key, having no key at all isn't going to get you any closer to the contents. You couldn't even access your own Keyed Metalminds while storing Identity. Overall, your idea has merit for giving Allomancers an extra edge. If they get their hands on Identity Medallions, Feruchemists could sell Unkeyed Metalmind beads to Allomancers specifically made for the purpose. Allomancers could carry them to burn in a pinch to access Feruchemical attributes, like a Rioter carrying a Zincmind bead and burning it in an emergency for speed of thought, a Coinshot carrying Physical Speed beads, etc. That could become its own little market (economy? I'm not sure what the right word here is, I just mean it could become a bunch of businesses competing to sell Feruchemy to Allomancers). It doesn't apply to proper compounding though, and not to Hemalurgy at all.
  20. I think we're thinking of it the wrong way. The Tinmind doesn't store the pain itself, just the sense that allows you to feel pain. So if you could force the contents of your Tinmind on someone else (via primer cube or otherwise) they wouldn't necessarily feel pain, they'd just have heightened sensitivity to it. As for how Feruchemy would work with a Primer Cube, it would probably depend on if you're storing or tapping while you're priming the cube. Store heat in a Brassmind without getting colder (and not filling the Brassmind at all) to make a Primer Cube that causes a cold spell, whereas you could tap heat without getting hotter at all and then use that to cause a heat effect. It's possible the first one isn't possible, or functions differently, but I imagine it'd be something along those lines SA Spoilers (RoW) Edit: I just remembered that we definitely have evidence of a Feruchemist using Primer Cube Technology: That's how the Malwish Skimmer Ships work
  21. Awesome!
  22. Gold Healing isn't necessary limited to what you put in, is it? I assume a Bloodmaker Kandra could use an Unkeyed Goldmind prepared by a human just as well as a human Bloodmaker. Wayne stores health by going around sick as though by the flu, but then uses that health to heal bullet wounds, which are a totally different kind of injury, but it still works
  23. SA Spoliers, RoW Probably not. It's a sort of weird inversion, where inorganic bones would be easy to manipulate with Healing since they have no previous Identity or Connections, whereas any actual bones the Kandra would be using would necessarily have both. Animal bones could be an exception since animals have simpler Spiritwebs and thus less Connections and Identity, but even then, there's the problem of the bones being dead before they're used by the Kandra and the DNA of the bones conflicting with that of the Kandra
