  1. In addition, re Ghostbloods infiltration was crazy. I simply cannot believe in a Sja-Anat Ghostbloods alliance, even if they are Radiants now. Sja Anat is looking out for herself. I also am wondering what order they are. Lastly, now we know it is Iyatil who wants BAM to control Shards. Can BAM control Honor or Odium???
  2. The Shallan expedition is definitely going to go wrong. She can't speak South Scadrian. Mraize spren crossbow is terrifying, I now anticipate a final confrontation where either Testament or Pattern is killed. Navani leaving the Tower seems amazingly stupid, they are losing their best defense. I wonder how Mraize can sneak through the perpendicularity. The Hoid quote about one many giving up the power sounds like Kelsier to me. And him calling Kelsier selfless is hilarious to me. Finally, I think SF did help to kill Tanavast. I had a bit of an epiphany, and I believe that Odium using small caps in OB was actually SF, and Dalinar did not understand.
  3. I seen to recall that Nale was also present.
  4. No, this cannot work like you think. Flamespren can indeed heat a room, but only from within a fabrial. However, free range spren fundamentally cannot. They are cognitive manifestations of ideas and emotions, they have no actual PR realm power. I seen to recall this being pointed out when Lirin says rotspren don't cause infection, merely show up when it is already there. Now, maybe if you could smuggle in empty fabrials, maybe. But I just don't see it working the way you think.
  5. There is no way the entire squad Shallan has is leaving that building alive. There are so many things that Shallan does not know and is not considering. For example, if I was Mraize, I would send only decoys into that meeting, preferably disguised with Lightweaving or stolen Lightweaving with an Allomantic grenade. After all, there has been years of speculation on spiking a bond out of someone, and Mraize would totally do it. I guess another way it could be done is trying to temporarily hack Aon-Dor like Moonlight did, to use the illusion Aons. Some other measures I can think he would take, beside decoys. 1: He would have squadrons of aluminum snipers in the room, Rosharans don't understand firearms. 2: At this point, because Kelsier was Sovereign, I would presume they have harmonium. This would allow them to make anti-personel mines. 3: He could use leeching grenades. 4: I suppose if they can catch some of the Lightweavers in speed bubbles, they can split them up as a unit. To this, I would say that I would have to agree. Culture and society shifts so quickly, nothing would be constant. I am of the opinion that Rushu is projecting, and really is not sure. She probably has some thoughts brooding at the back of her mind, and her subconscious is treating it as a scholarly matter to avoid dealing with those thoughts. Oh yeah, and for the record, Arianism is heresy due to metaphysical impossibility, as Godel and Anselm would say. Monaphisitiscm is problematic because there is a clear example of a human and divine will united in one person, but both distinct, because the divine will is the same between all three persons, but can disagree with human will. Secular bishoprics are actually a modern problem, with the Chinese treaty having power over appointing bishops. I was just having some fun with you. I doubt that question was not rhetorical.
  6. No, I am saying even the dormant tower stripped Voidlight illusions. However, it has no effect on the Voidlight itself. We know El has special voidlight talents, some of which may work. Conventional Fused powers may be disabled, but if El had no Rhythms, maybe not, we just don't know. The issue is that Raboniel did not use her powers post Sibling awakening.
  7. I am afraid I must respectfully disagree. We know that the Tower not its Song had any effects on Void light in and of itself. This can be clearly seen in the textual evidence of the Sibling being weak, with void light corrupting the system like crem in a cistern. Navani had to specifically sing the rhythm of anti-Voidlight to get rid of it. Now, one issue would be how a Fused would not be looked at strangely, after all he isn't human. I do think though that the Sibling's protections would arrest Mavaset-im abilities. I don't even like the third Tower attack theory, but I think this is a valid way it could be done.
  8. No, we know Kaladin has no particularly special background per WoB. I think Lirin greatly reminds SF of Tanavast, but Tanavast is dead and gone.
  9. Here, my only problem is the only one of the 9 with no order counterpart is Bonding, although the Mishram stuff makes this potentially wrong. If anything, Ishar should be the one missing an Unmade.
  10. I don't like this really at all. The whole point of Kaladin's arc is that he is a random person who steps up when he is needed. I think some important lineage would degrade that part of his arc. I also recall a WoB that there was nothing special about Kaladin's family, except the whole Aesudan relation thing with Hesina. If Alder wants to chime in with WoB's on either side, feel free.
  11. This is a really crazy theory, but I think it could actually happen. We know the Sibling has defenses to keep out Fused. We also know that in reference to this, it said that it's beats drive Fused mad. This seems supported by Moash's escape from the Tower, where the Song of the Tower drove him out. However, Raboniel at that point could not hear the rhythms. Indeed, she was not driven out, not seemed to be hurt by the Song of the Tower. Granted, her condition is somewhat unique, because she was being burned away by the anti-Voidlight, but we know she could hear no rhythms. This brings me to my point. El is known to be unable to hear rhythms. I think he was not even perturbed while holding anti-voidlight, which should have been emitting the rhythm of anti-voidlight. I would say that since he cannot hear the Song of the Tower, he could enter the Tower for some purpose, although what this would be is mysterious. I merely thought this was an interesting thought experiment.
  12. I know this is a little late since this was a last week type topic, but it just occured to me if Dakhor minks could grow Tamu Keks. Knowing that many things in the Cosmere operate on the same principles in different forms like midnight essence, I would posit that one way a Dakhor monk can grow his bones is to something akin to a tamu Keks. This would also raise the question on if Dakhor has a proto antecedent on Yolen. I just thought this would be an interesting thought, so please offer opinions.
  13. What makes you think Ishar won't take Kal and Szeth to SR at finale to pick up power?
  14. I think that this is probably one of those situations where if you were to ask Brandon after the fact, he would say it is a cool piece of foreshadowing, but it wasn't actually intentional, but who knows, maybe you are right.
  15. I still think Szeth will be the one to do the deed. He doesn't truly want anything but punishment for his crimes. He followed his oaths to the point of murder and death and evil. I would say without a doubt, he embodies Honor's Intent absolutely.
  16. I agree with this, but I, as other have stated above, think that the difference in words just doesn't ostensibly communicate enough of a difference. I was thinking that Nale could be considered a great example for the new Intent. It is a mixture of pure oaths and law, combined with utter hatred for breakers of oaths, or inversely, it could be utter hatred reinforced with oaths. I would say the Intent is something closer to Vendetta, which ties in quite well with the Alethi Vengeance Pact traditions.
  17. I think that the there is a best thing that can happen and the funniest ending. I think funnier option is for Dalinar to pick up Honor, then force it upon Taravangian, and the two of them get fused together as two co-holders of a combination Shard. You thought Harmony had problems getting things done, you haven't seen anything yet The best thing Dalinar could foreseeabley do is to pick up Honor, make many oaths restricting himself and his action, swear to remain on some random planet with no inhabitants, swear to never make mischief, and swear to follow all these oaths for eternity. Then, he should just try to tempt Todium to take the Shard, and all the corresponding oaths. "Oh, hi Taravangian. You are looking good today. I changed my mind about you, so please take this totally not booby trapped piece of infinite power from me." I guess if they found out about the Kharbranth oath, he could also swear to destroy Kharbranth, which would paralyze Taravangian if he took it.
  18. I think one reason SF is so fearful of it all is that Dalinar Ascending would likely kill him and absorb SF back into Honor. It is in SF's best interest not to have Dalinar Ascend.
  19. I was really shocked at Dalinar small caps. I think that might have been him making some Spiritual connection to Honor. Next, while I think him letting the Mink retake Herdaz was incredibly stupid, I believe it is a necessary step to the fourth ideal, which will go something like, I shall put oaths above what is good. With making fun of Frost and Dragon kind in general is just funny. Next, he said everyone who has taken up the power has regretted it. That is interesting, because Bavadin, Edgli, and maybe Sazed don't seem too. I think this might be colored by his perception. Hoid talking about the power itself having certain things ingrained like a hatred for him seems interesting. The SilverLight mercantile compass was just really funny to me, but makes sense. Stormfather: The Gavilar conversation was way too much to not be foreshadowing. This also implies that even Gavilar never sought Honor itself, but SF makes it sound like that could have been a valid path. What did the Stormfather do, what was his shame. Was Tanavast in on it? I want the next chapters already.
  20. I wonder how the rock influenced all of this. The only thing off the top of my head is that Stone Shamanism was really Unmade worship the whole time, and there is an Unmade of stones.
  21. I have to agree, this is a spectacular ace in the hole. The only way I can think the Radiants could stop this is to Soulcast an entire aluminum cube around the battlefield, to trap the Fused souls in.
  22. I think probably a lot less people. Primarily just because the geography on Roshar is so hostile. I would say if they have a force of maybe 100,000 after a few years of war, maybe they had something like 10 or 20 mil normally.
  23. I have to disagree with the given to him bit. We know that not one whit of Kelsier had any sort of relation or Connection to Preservation or his Intent, but still managed to be Invested as CS. Maybe it works differently for Odium, but I don't really see why.
  24. So, to this, I also though that this was specifically because it was Moash. The thing about Moash is that he's extremely deeply connected to Odium, who has his pain. When the Sibling reawoke, it went to full power. We know that the Sibling said this chapter that her beats drive Fused mad. I would say from the scene in RoW where Moash is desperately lashing himself down the corridor at exponential acceleration to escape, he was doing it to reconnect to Odium to lose his pain again. As such, I don't necessarily think the Tower will have the same effect on Male and the skybreakers. The only thing I can say is that since we don't know how Moash's eyes were burned away, we can't be sure there is not some second defense mechanism.
