    Seems like that's gonna be a major component of the plot of Elantris 2, so I sorta doubt that would get anything but a RAFO.

    I think the spren was probably referring to Stormlight then. It's from Ym's POV, so his experience wouldn't have ended if he'd managed to Lightweave an illusion of himself dying to trick Darkness.

    I agree with Weiry. For some reason, I kind of doubt that the Ring rules all spren, especially considering how Wyndle's people were the ones making the preparations for his transfer of consciousness.

    I've been calling him a vinespren in my head, personally. It's interesting that he refers to Cultivation/Nightwatcher as his mother though.

    I think the idea that's being thrown around is, if we keep to the fabrial comparison. The bit of Cognitive aspect in spikes is akin to the spren in a fabrial, while the mists are like Stormlight. I've wondered about using spikes myself, but I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it.

    Man, I'm impressed that you noticed Hoid in multiple books. I knew about the cosmere after I read my first Sanderson (TWoK) so I was looking for him, but I never would have caught it on my own. Welcome to the forums!

    I don't think we can count any of them out of combat entirely, but those with Travel will probably be used also heavily for communications, moreso than a Windrunner, and if you can heal, there's gonna be more of those people in the triage tents than on the battlefield. I think a lot of it comes down to the personality of the Radiant in question as well. Someone can be all about protection and leadership, but follow those ideals by planning battles from behind the front lines rather than directly standing between a Voidbringer and a child.

    Well Chaos, you know already that I like this theory. When you create a new topic there's a check box to the left of where you enter the tags that says "Use First Tag as Prefix". So the first tag you use will be placed by the title of the topic, and in this case the tag was theory. I'll probably stick with just typing it out, because I tend to dislike camel case.

    Just throwing my two cents in here, I agree with you wholeheartedly Gloom. I don't think that every Radiant's powers are equally good in combat, even if they all have potential combat applications.

    It's pretty great, isn't it? I think that I love the cosmere for the background stuff, but then I read an individual book and forget how much I like the characters and the stories. Emperor's Soul is an exceptional novella, I hope you enjoy it. It's nice to meet you, and I'm glad you're here!

    All right, so the OP has been updated. It now contains the new Lift, Ym, Jasnah, and Kaladin readings. It does not have the second half of the Ym interlude, but if I hear anything more about that, I'll be sure to add it. Sorry that it took this long, but they're all in the right place now. Let me know if one of the links isn't working or something. They're also in, as far as I can tell, the same order they are in the book itself. Also, wow. That's a lot of stuff, more than I thought we'd get.

    "Dress" doesn't get you anywhere. I'm tempted to try "woman" but that might take some time... EDIT: "Woman" isn't very helpful either. If only we knew if she was going by an alias or if she's simply an unnamed background character. Did the Terriswoman have a name? I can't seem to recall.

    Buy, Brandon's said a kandra will play a larger role in the sequel. Where was the rogue kandra mentioned? We will learn how Seons are made in Elantris 2.

    Duuuuuuuude. Mind blown. That has to be true. Kaladin has a lot of Vedeledev in his chapters, which is associated with healing, and by extension surgery.

    Hmm, maybe we say thank you for what we were given? It's kind of hard to answer rapid fire questions while signing books. Brandon didn't have to tell us anything in the first place, and Peter could have just let us stumble around in the dark, building theories off of incorrect facts.

    Yeah, all right guys. I don't want to be a killjoy, but at the current time, there is to be no discussion of the Steelhunt on the forums. I'm sorry, I understand that you want to discuss it, I do as well, but right now this is policy and I'm going to keep hiding posts that discuss it. If you can't bear that in mind, then more drastic measures will be taken. I really don't want to do that, so please be mindful of the rule and considerate for the people who don't have access to the content. Thank you very much

    I want that Rysn image so much. I love the way the artist imagined the Thaylen eyebrows. I'm making the executive decision to move the Kaladin concept art further down the page and using the colored portrait for the main image. You rock Feather, we needed you!
