  1. Does it count as ninja'ing when I post nearly a half an hour before you?
  2. That's an interesting idea, although I'm not entirely sure what it would be used for. I also don't think that it can be done without damaging a person in some way. Cutting off part of someone's soul seems like too drastic a thing to leave someone the same person, no matter how carefully it was done. Also, I fixed your tag for you. You can change tags by editing you post and then using into the "use full editor" button.
  3. Well, the city presumably didn't sink into the stone. I'd imagine that crem slowly covered up the ruins of the buildings over the centuries.
  4. I don't know if it necessarily represents anything. It might just be a symbol Michael Whelan painted for the cover. The covers aren't intended to be one hundred percent canonically correct, often to just give a feel for the book or a specific moment in the book.
  5. We knew about Shadows of Self, but as of yet no third book had been announced yet.
  6. Exactly! Either that or you end up going from some concept -> world -> cosmere -> Brandon -> Ken Jennings Although I've heard some reports from Eric that on some of our terrible Legion articles this falls through for now...
  7. So, everyone knows the trick on Wikipedia, about following the first link, right? If you hadn't heard, here's how it works. If you go to a random page on Wikipedia, and click on the first link on the page (ignoring italicized or those links in parentheses) and the first link on each subsequent page, eventually you'll end up at the Philosophy article. I was kind of curious as to what would happen if I tried it on the Coppermind. Turns out, it ends up on the Ken Jennings page, which I found enormously amusing. You have to follow the same rules for the Wikipedia tricks, with the added caveat that you ignore external links. Also, if you follow a link that leads to a subsection of a page, you need to click on the first link on the page, not the subsection. I haven't found an exception yet, but I thought that it was pretty funny.
  8. I don't think that metal and Stormlight are analogous. The metals aren't the actual spiritual fuel, that power comes from Ruin and/or Preservation. Stormlight is the fuel for Surgebinding, and is likely derived from one or more Shards.
  9. Ethrien did not make an error. That's a typo in TWoK. The attributes associated with Nalan are indeed just/confident.
  10. It was openly posted in another topic.
  11. Brandon's actually seems to have contradicted himself on whether or not Splinters must be conscious. He's called a Divine Breath a Splinter, and yet we've seen no apparent consciousness from that.
  12. Glad to have you here! Which one of Brandon's books is your favorite?
  13. I concur, Feather. The girls Adolin knew told him that they saw Renarin as kind of creepy.
  14. I disagree a bit with the last bit of your post. The Lord Ruler was a Sliver, due to him holding the power of Preservation at the Well. There are no Splinters of Ruin and Preservation. I don't think it's accurate to say that the Heralds were nearly Splinters because they are people, not a fragment of a Shard. They could be invested with an amount of power that isn't quite enough to be considered a Splinter, but they themselves are not Splinters.
  15. Not necessarily. It seems more likely to me that they simply have a sort of link due to Spook's belief in Kel, not that it's giving Kel any sort of powers.
  16. Sell WoR Spoiler At some point in the future, Raoden will take up Devotion.
  17. Mmm, that is true, but there's still no proof that it makes Kel better at anything, just that he can talk to Spook.
  18. That bit about Kel is a common theory, one I even espouse, but not confirmed unless I've missed hearing about it.
  19. I don't think of it as left/right or top bottom. I figured the Windrunners are the order with spren that have the most "Honor" as they are the honorspren, and that logically, the order across from them would have spren with the most Cultivation.
  20. I don't think Ahan wanted Roial dead. He seemed pretty shocked when Roial got stabbed. I like these shipping categories, Feather. It's interesting to see what boxes people put relationships into.
  21. I don't see Wyndle as a cultivationspren, mostly because I feel like those would go on the opposite end of the chart to the honorspren, and we're all pretty certain at this point that the Edgedancers are order 4, not 6. Not sure if the cryptics really seem to be cultivationspren though. It's an interesting question. Also, honorspren and windspren are confirmed to be "cousins" whatever that means for spren.
  22. Well, it's labeled Shallan's Sketchbook: Santhid, so I don't think it's a Tai-na. Also, I think it's pretty unlikely that Shallan will end up in the Reshi Sea during WoR.
  23. I've always thought of Taravangian's fluctuating intelligence as a boon and curse in one. Intelligent on some days and moronic on others. I want to say it was even confirmed, but if it was, I can't remember with enough clarity to find it.
  24. The broken bones thing is an interesting question. You'd almost certainly think that Kel broke a few bones when TLR slapped him hard enough to demolish half his face, but OreSeur and TenSoon seem to be able to still create a normal looking human being from those bones. I am very excited for Sixth of the Dusk, but a new cosmere story always makes me excited. I'm very interested in the source of power for the investiture on this world. What did you guys think of the santhid? I think it looks pretty sweet, I've missed Shallan's sketches. It's actually the new background on my phone right now...
  25. Canonically, I think all Rosharan races but the Shin have an epicanthic fold. That's why the Shin seem child-like according to everyone. I'll have to think about how I view the characters. I find that the picture in my head often bears little or no resemblance to the text.
