Grrr Christmas is so complicated

because do I get a present for my best friend (who won’t be getting me anything because she’s at college and values quality time waaay more than stuff because she’s freaky rich), do I get presents for the girls who say i’m their best friend but we never do anything together and they get me like…socks or a notebook or something, and then what present do I get for my mom who doesn’t want tangible stuff, doesn’t need another plant to take care of, and can’t stand treats?

to those wondering, the answer is yes

and the answer to the mom question is a bottle of black cherry infused balsamic vinegar from a really specific local bakery

And the answer to friends is silly gifts—the friend who never eats anything gets Dino nuggets. The friend who loves hunger games gets a sunrise on the reaping themed gift basket (I can give details if anyone wants) and the best friend gets bath and body hand sanitizer and me all break

I went skiing!! Global warming is the worst, which is to say that only one lift was open and only 2 runs. And we had to stop early because it started raining. Yep. Raining. At a ski resort. In December. 

But it was really fun anyways! And I’ll have other chances with some good powder. 

Unpopular opinion: I love going to the mall during Christmas time. Maybe it’s because I have to drive 30 minutes to the closest on (whereas I only have to drive 10 to get to the mountains), but it’s just such a fun adventure. I get to window shop and pick out cutesy friend gifts, plus matching hot wheels for me and my bro, like what a great time to be alive

…if you can’t tell, pretty much all grades are solidified and I have so much less work than I ever have, I’m relishing the moment. 

ooooo maybe I’ll go to the mountains now, the frozen rivers are EPIC, case in point:

Aww I love Ookla season

lol this morning I had some extra time before school so I ran to the store, got a pomegranate, some napkins, a plastic knife, and a couple of their free soup cups.

then I peeled the ENTIRE pomegranate in class. It was awesome. My teacher loves me.
