why would you ever need to wipe your own metalminds, currently there is no way for someone to look into someone else's metalminds (though there probably could be a way to do that with Identity shenanigans) Maybe this twinborn could store the "shape" of the investiture leeched in their coppermind. This would require that copper could store that memory.

Yes the ability is now unrelated to savantisim but it may still be in somewhat part connected to his resonance
-
Never mind i'm a storming idiot. But the resonance may still work and my point about imagining resonances in a more abstract light still stands.
-
All of this is of course highly based on how F-iron rusting works, but given that it doesn't actually increase your mass, it probably works by a similar mechanic to the Surge of gravitation, so altering how the mass of other objects effect your attraction to the ground P.S does anyone have a WOB that says how F-Iron works anyway?
-
Is no one here thinking about the resonances from a more abstract light? For example one of the few resonances we know of is Wax's steel bubble ability (most likely) and that doesn't have anything to do with affecting one's weight. Another example of this is the fact that bondsmith powers are almost completely because of a resonance. So for example the resonance of this may be that you can more finely tune how "close" the gold shadow is to your current Identity.

Maybe the Resonance would the ability to more finely control the speed of the leaching?

Due to the fact that Atium is Ruin's god metal, it's feruchemical properties may have something to due with his intent. Ruining the body temporarily and later undoing time's natural ruination in return. We may need to feruchemical properties of other god metal's but it would make sense that they would store something in relation to their intent.

okay this is giving me a chance to talk about what I've been thinking a bit about lately, and that's the fallibility of language and how it is always so subjective. For example right here, the Shard of Odium is more than just hatred, it's intent also describes conflict and emotion, and while hatred is a good way to describe that Shard's intent it is by definition incomplete. This doesn't just apply to Odium, it applies to Honor, Cultivation, Autonomy and pretty much every shard. The names that are used for them are just people trying to do their best to describe things that are definitively infinite.
-
It may be possible to take something from the Vessel's original spirit web but it may not be possible to take anything from the Shard itself. The power of the Shard and the Shard's Vessel are two very distinct things, even when the Vessel would physically manifest the power of the Shard would not be all there, doing so would make generate a Perpendicularity.

Both Moash and Vyre are worthy of neither hatred nor pity. Only contempt, he has shown again and again choosing the easy path, the one that is easiest for him no matter how much it will hurt him. That doesn't mean that he will never be better than what he is now.

Not in this lifetime no, but redemption is a key part of the stormlight archive. Dalinar, Venli, Szeth, and so many others have gone through major character turnarounds. In reality the only difference is whether or when the time comes do they chose to do what is right or what is easy. For every Dalinar constantly trying to become there are equally as many like Sadeas and Amaram who continue to be selfish right until the very end. I would say that if Moash is alive by the end of KoW then he will undergo some sort of redemption in the back half of stormlight.

Maybe this could be part of the reason why TLR was known for having such a good memory. I know that F-Copper could do that but Sazed was shown having to use an index.

5th heightening and above savantism
Spearguy replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The way savantism works is that it's a sort of warping in your spiritweb, caused by large amounts of investiture moving though you. I think that a high amount of breaths could make it take a bit longer, but not by much. -
Unpopular Brandon Sanderson Opinions
Spearguy replied to not an Evil Librarian's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I'm going to be brutally honest and say that Brandon is not a good writer, what he is good at is storytelling and world building. I would say that the difference between being a storyteller and a writer is that a storyteller is good at grand sweeping arcs and themes, while a writer is good a prose and making the individual words together. -
How is it Autonomous or Ruinous?

Welcome to the shard, what is you favorite cosmere (insert thing here)

If I'm not mistaken the one word command only works after using Ichor alcohol on a human body. also Rosharen life as not as human-like may be a bit harder to awaken a mammal corpse of the same size. Although that might work differently for Singers (does anyone have any WOB's on why things that are human shaped are easier to awaken?)

Something that has always bothered me about Ruin and Preservation is that they feel more primal then the other shards. Shards like Honor, Odium and Cultivation feel like they are more things that are brought about by humans, but to destroy and preserve are more innate the the world. My theory is that the original vessels of Ruin and Preservation (Ati and Leras respectively) were one of the ones to wield the Dawnshards against Adonalsium. Also that the 4th and final Dawnshard is Creation itself which Adolosium never let go of when creating the Cosmere. So the four Dawnshards would sort of corisponed to directions, backwards (Ruin), stop (Preserve), sides (Change) and finally forward (Create) P.S sorry if this is awkward formatting, this is my first major theory.
