  1. Something odd is going down. Everyone has become quite mad. An angry soul, maybe. perhaps even. a spirit. of wrath. perviously known as Berin

  2. After deciding it was probably safe again and there were no more darts, Larry peeked out again and saw Nick walking away from an empty suit of armor. Oh good God. He totally ate him. That suit 100% recycled that guy. He set his rifle back up to scope in, but saw the white flag and the battle dying down. He refolded the blaster and made his way back to the ground. Larry considered interrogating Nick about the commander, but decided against it. He's going to eat me too if he knows I know. Instead, he just looked around for the rest of the group.
  3. Larry throws a fist in the air in celebration before a dart hits his glove. He ducks behind the merlon to pull out the dart. He raises his communicator and finds SIMON's channel again. "Think you can take them down? If you're trying close-combat, I don't want to shoot towards you."
  4. Larry takes this opportunity to open fire at the commander, now that there isn't a risk of deflection.
  5. Finally mustered up the courage to ask: What is your favorite variety of pineapple, or your favorite pineapple-related dish?

  6. Lawson stepped up to the young man at the desk, walking cane in hand. Clearing his throat, he said, "Excuse me, can you help me withdraw some money? I'm planning on getting a nice new spine for myself, and my wallet has come up a little dry, you see." He chuckled, hoping the security guard wouldn't notice that he was not the right person to be asked. He leaned forward onto desk and used his hands to talk for him. "See, when I was a little younger, and a little handsomer, and a little like you, dear boy, I used to work at a blanket factory, and that didn't make a lot of money for little old me. But I wanted to work there because the children...." He kept rambling on and hoped his plan would work.
  7. The flash of metal catches Larry's eyes. He considered shooting, but that move.... It seemed similar to the training simulations he went through. If the commander can spin that thing like it was nothing, who knows what strange, possibly laser-deflecting properties it has. Instead, he shot at the soldiers nearest to the knight to hopefully cause a distraction.
  8. He grinned as he pulled the rifle away and hid behind the merlons. "Like a god," he says as he recalls his original plan on the mountain. He waits a few seconds and returns to his position. Knowing he likely won't hit the knight in shining armor, he fires more openly into the crowd, trying to avoid those facing the enemy.
  9. Wrong metal! Meant to do electrum, which shows your future self. Thought that would be fun in a heist scenario, seeing how you would turn out
  10. Sounds fun! About what time period is this in? This probably fits whenever it is though.
  11. Larry takes aim at the chest and fires a few shots.
  12. After following some archers around and refusing to take the longbows several quartermasters offered him, he found his way on top of the wall walkway. Larry flips out a stand from his blaster rifle to rest on the crenel, barrel poking out of the battlement. He opened his scope and pulled out his stock, turning the compact one-handed C-11 blaster into a full-length sniper rifle. He ignored the looks that other archers were probably giving him and surveyed the opposing back lines.
  13. Larry sighs, grumbles and kicks rocks around for a moment. For once he's not on duty and he still has to go into suprise firefights. He takes into account Nick's direction and finds the nearest guard going the same general direction. "I'm a soldier, what's the situation? Who's attacking?" He unholstered his blaster and checked the charge. About 400 shots left, and an emergency 200-shot cartridge on his body. He didn't have any utilities or tools. Which was stupid. Why did he do that?
  14. Oh man, the teeth, the protruding spikes, the steel symbol and the burning, hellish glow...... It's perfect
  15. Ooo, this is really interesting! The classic opening of how the world came to be is always a fun one. "The sadness of the ending" is quite the hook, and I'm pretty excited to see where this goes. Good luck!
  16. hey guys. I just opened the Social Groups, Clans and Guilds tab. First two results. The Chosen Sandwich Finders and The Cult of the Sandwich. The former has been going on for a whole year. How did I not notice these?? What have I created with this accursed game, this horrible war. anyways A cartoonish cloud of dust appears, covering your view. While you can't see, I swap the Sandwich with a loaf of bread cut exactly to the proportions of the Sandwich and leave it in your hands. Then I run into the bi-yearly World Sandwich Expo and get lost in the crowd.
  17. These suggestions are all pretty great, thank you all! I'll definitely be putting some time aside to work on this now
  18. That sounds, and probably is, evil! I'll stick to morally just scamming, thank you very much. Unrelated, I ask you if you would like to steal the sandwich for me, and in exchange I'll grant you a mysterious and perfectly vague reward.
  19. I procure an ancient document that says that I am the Chosen Sandwich Person. I can't give you the document because the ink is still wet and I'd rather you not smear the words or your hands.
  20. Larry, meanwhile, approaches the nearest guard. "Who is the local authority here?" He tries to sound as friendly as possible, but the angry-looking helmet crushing his voice didn't really help with his image. "I'd like to talk to them about an intergalactic empire, and how you can join it."
  21. I got some concepts sitting in my head, but I don't really know where to go with them! The setting is the industrial revolution, maybe Boston, but in a Cold War situation. Competing nations invent things to one-up the other, with the end goal being a secret doomsday weapon. Very simple, and also vague. I'll work on the plot later, but it's probably going to be a The Emperor's Soul type deal. The magic system I have in mind is the conversion of nutrition (or some other bodily function) to electrical current. People can store electricity in exchange for something like heat or weariness. They can use the stored energy to make electrons move and power stuff, but it's a lot more efficient and powerful than non-magic power generation. My main problems are: 1: Should this be a genetic thing, or something for everyone to do? And should it be a newly discovered or ancient thing? 2: It's kinda boring right now. Eat food, make electricity. There should be some more risk and reward, maybe a reason to make it illegal. 3: Is this the right setting? I love the idea of 1600s-1800s North America, but I don't really know how to blend this into a setting that's already fairly advanced. There are probably a few more issues that I'm forgetting, but whatever. Please fix this up however you want! Honestly, this might not go anywhere anyways, so no pressure. Thanks!
  22. Larry dug through somewhere in his suit and came up with a stack of rectangular metal chips. "I got a few hundred credits on me. Doubt anyone will accept it though."
  23. Larry turns to the group. "Is there anything specific that we need? Other than the obvious food and water that we haven't really had much of."
  24. Larry nods his thanks, and follows the guard to the market.
