"You can confirm that then April?" The emperor asked, "That's good to know I suppose. But we will discuses the others in a moment, first let's make a decision on August and July."
The emperor watches him go up without a word. In fact he looked concerned Arke might fall.
October cleared his throat.
"If I may, I think that July could serve under me for a time--he needs more experience in the world and I can make it punishing enough."
June frowned, speaking for the first time. "July isn't a fighter, you can't take him to war!"
"From what I've heard of his resistance to arrest, he's fighter enough."
"October," August intervened, voice calm, "He'll be more of nuisance then a help."
"You're just trying to save him August, don't think you're being clever--worry about your own skin."
August frowned.
December leaned over to shake the shoulder of the man sitting next to her. He was wearing ostentatious robes, and a large scar covered the left half of his olive face. The entire meeting before then he'd been staring off into space, not seeing and not moving at all.
When he didn't respond, December just shrugged and turned away from him.
"Enough bickering," January said curtly, "Let's just come to a conclusion, restrictions on August and 3 spans of servitude for July. All in favor?"
"3 span?!" October asked, outraged. "He'll do more then 3 span, thank you very much."
"August should face bigger consequences then just mild restrictions, he's not a child he's a criminal," March grumbled under his breath.
