  1. I feel like little things like scars that aren't super plot-important can very easily be forgotten when making art, even if Brando saw and approved of the art himself--I forget my own characters features when drawing them all the time. Especially with fantasy adventure books like mistborn where characters get injured often, sometimes you can just assume they have scars even if it's not specifically described. (I mean, carrying on with Vin wouldn't she have a significant amount of scars from growing up on the streets and being beaten often? Probably, but it's not really described because it's not super relevant and Brandon chose not to use them to further her story or themes). To me it just seems like the artists forgot it since we're not constantly reminded that it's there (Like Kal's brands or something) and Brandon didn't notice/forgot as well, unless someone has an alternate explanation.

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

"If you just stand there and do nothing, they might think your involved! If you come with me you'll be protected, politically at least." February absently laid his hand on the table, still staring at nothing. "She's right April," August said from his seat. He tried to lean forward to see her better, but October yanked him back, "It'll be better for you if you go with her."

After helping February stand, December moved over and put her hands on Aprils shoulders. "Come on, get up, you can process things later."

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

December grabbed the arm of the un-responding man next to her. "Come on February, we need to go now . . ." She said gently. She looked back at April, seeing her start to hyperventalate. "This is shocking for all of us, why don't you come with me and we can discuss things after you calm down?"
  5. "Alright . . . ." She typed 'secret waterfall they don't want me to know about' into the notes on her phone.
  6. The mimic's pincer's slam into her before she had time to dodge. It's not hard enough to knock her over but she skids in the mud and her side is full of sharp pain. That's gonna leave some pretty bad bruises, though luckily she didn't feel any ribs crack.

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

December came back around, deciding she didn't fancy staying near the body. With a shay hand she touched Aprils shoulder. "Your not going with them?" The puddle of blood continued to grow, spilling out onto the floor and soaking into the papers and books on the table.
  8. "Strange, I just heard something too," Liv said turning to Maria. "The words 'way out' and 'happened,' nothing particularly unique, so it's likely still a trick of the ears. The rushing sound I heard might be real though--is there any moving water nearby this location?"
  9. "When I get to the top," She grunted, not hearing him laugh, "I'll throw down some of the rope we got on the boat so it's an easier climb for you guys." She was about halfway up now, her hands soar but still working.

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

In the chaos no one notices her leaving, and she isn't stopped at the door. June stared at the puddle of blood on the table for a split second, before turning and running to July. July was clearly still in shock of what had happened, so he lets June grab his wrist and start pulling him towards the door. March charges after June and July, sword in hand. December stayed in her seat but clearly looked distressed and unsure what to do. She stood slowly and moved to check on the emperor's body. January and his son were heading for the doors, clearly wanting to get away instead of go after June. The man who'd be sitting next to December staring off into space continued to not move, completely unaffected. Watching June and July run to the exit, August moved to go after them but October put his hands on his shoulders and slammed him back down into his chair. He stayed that way, holding him down and August didn't struggle--he just stared at the table in front of him, pale.
  11. "And I like orange flavoring, but they don't sell box mix for that in the grocery store, do they? "
  12. It screeched loudly in pain, but still had many other legs to lean on. It slashed a large pincer down on top of her before she could move away. You see the mimic attack both Heartache and Lusha. It's being kept busy. Nera, unsure what else to do, throws her knife. It sinks into the back of the wooden box but doesn't appear to do anything.
  13. "Nice to meet you Dawson, you can call me Aki."
  14. Liv ignored the fog, it seemed ordinary enough to her, if a little thick. Hopefully they wouldn't get separated and loose people in it.
  15. Does anyone else struggle with writing more emotional scenes? Like, I'm working on a fanfic project and the climax of the story is basically a prodigal son reunion type scene, which of course would be emotional.

And it's so embarrassing . . . . it's like, this is their private moment I shouldn't be writing it or something 😭 they're not even real like what 😭 Why am I like this 😭

I also worry that it'll be melodramatic but hopefully my setup is good enough to have it not be? I don't even know 😭

Imagine that you are the character and the character is you. You have the character’s personality and mannerisms now.

See, I do this most of the time, but it doesn't work with emotional scenes for me, it makes it harder which I know sounds strange but it'd take too long to explain why, it's a whole thing . . . idk

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

Testimonies and explanations of what exactly had happened didn't take long. Soon everyone was filled in with most of what had happened, and each persons involvement. When deciding the sentences of the party members the months didn't argue or even suggest ideas. It seemed because this wasn't a family matter, they didn't get a say. It was the emperors decision alone. After several minutes of glancing over his notes and scribbling some more, he pulled June over, likely to clarify some details. They whispered for a few minutes, the conversation inaudible to the party. Just as they finished, June slit his throat with a knife no one had realized he'd been holding. When the emperor's head slammed into the desk, July stood, completely aghast. "June?!" "The contract never said . . . that we had to challenge the Emperor before killing him . . . just the other months!" June said, turning. There has a smile on his face but it wasn't a happy one. Chaos erupted through the room. The few guards there with them seemed at a loss. It was illegal to kill, and was obviously treason to kill the emperor, but the months were exempt from most laws if they had a good reason for action. If June declared he was motivated to do so because he wanted the throne, then it might be excusable and the guards would be punished for attempting to arrest him. March stood immediately drawing his sword, staring the younger man. @Ookla the Inconclusive @Ookla de los cuervos @Ookla the Mom Friend @Ookla the Defenestrator
  17. Liv sighed but dropped the issue. As if simple rhetoric could out weigh logical means of deduction. She dropped it though, and followed Maria, pulling the map up on her phone for the first time.
  18. Liv nodded. She turned on her receiver. Things might look normal, but problems like this were usually more then appearances.
  19. Liv squinted at her skeptically. "Alright, but it still might be a case of Pareidolia."
  20. "No need to swear your sword, as for as I know Caleb's the only noblemen with us." "So what's your name?" Aki said interrupting the talk of economics and politics. Those were the sorts of things that made his head ache. Best to let Nick handle it.
  21. "We should always look for a medical explanation first, ma'am, in my humble opinion . . . Logic comes first, then when it fails we look for the unexplainable." She grumbled.
