I'm tryna get better at being able to laugh at myself and not take art so seriously, because I'm tired of feeling icky every time I receive valid criticism.
Turns out "no thoughts head empty" isn't the best artistic technique lol, I can hardly be frustrated at my teacher for giving me the same advice over and over again . . . when I make the same mistake over and over again . . .
It's kind of hard, especially when you're raised as the 'art kid' and a lot of your concept of self is based on how well you can do the thing. But I guess life is just about unlearning those stupid misconceptions about who you are. Especially with developing a skill like this
anyway thanks for coming to my Ted talk

i feel a lot of this. i put a lot of pressure on myself to do things "right" and to be perfect all the time, especially since my friends always tell me i'm "good at everything" (which i'm absolutely not). to me, this just translates to this inner mantra of "be better" in EVERY MILLION HOBBY I HAVE so i feel you
but girlie your art is so good and it gives me so much inspiration AND I LITERALLY HAVE THOSE DRAWINGS OF HADLEY THAT YOU DID FOR ME HUNG UP ON MY BULLETIN BOARD OF PRIZED HARLOW POSESSIONS LIKE WHAT
