    Murr kept his focus on Mak once he was down from the tree. "I... You're welcome?" It's not like I had much choice, you have a machete and I have no weapon at all. One of Murr's new birds, the one which improved his physical perception, sent a warning in his mind. He glanced back to look at the spikes in the water, which he had seen before but not been able to register on his own. He moved further inland on the patch of land they had remaining. "Maj. In the water."

    Murr walked over to a nearby tree and examined it apprehensively. His short stature would make this difficult.
