    Lerac looked at Insa again, this time to try and see whether she was considering doing this.

    "Okay." Lerac paused. "Would you mind restating exactly what your terms are?"

    Lerac looked over at Insa, gauging her reaction.

    "And now you have something new to put in it?"

    Lerac took a seat, the afterimage he left behind now more noticeable to Saar with the movement than when he had been standing and talking to her. "You told me that you wanted Insa, Bookwyrm and I to get something from you. You didn't say what it was, but you said I couldn't get it alone. You said if we did it, you'd leave them alone and remove your magic from me."

    Lerac still wore a dark cloak, but it was arranged in a somewhat more formal way, now partially open to reveal his normal clothing beneath, just as dark and mostly plain. It looked like durable traveler's clothes. His dagger was visible at his hip. Lerac said nothing, but looked at Saar neutrally. Death had not allowed her to change his appearance to her liking, a mostly passive action with a purposeful point. Lerac was thankful for that.

    Lerac nodded. "Okay, let's talk to her. Is there anything I should know or expect?"

    Murr followed along, tense. I don't want to fight him... Will I have to? Should I strike first? Should I run?
