    "We can go back later, maybe. But I don't want to forget how to get there."

    TAAron quickly grabbed her arm before she got away from him. "Come on," he said patiently. "We need to get to the doctor's, remember?"

    As they walked, TAAron felt a mix of lingering pain from the cut and guilt that he couldn't be trusted enough to keep Haly safe despite all of his abilities.

    TAAron took a deep breath, trying to steady himself and ignore the painful hollowness that the connection left behind. "Let's go, then." He took her hand.

    "Alright." He focused for a moment, and tried to ignore the uncomfortable force his power put on him as he cut the connection.

    "You should tell me where exactly to go in case you get confused before we arrive."

    "Alright, should I do it now, or when we get there?"

    "I guess we could start with a normal doctor. Maybe they could just look over your symptoms. I'd probably have to cut the connection, though..."

    "Any magical experts of any sort?"
  11. The Aspiring Archivist
    "That's true. But if you need something else magical to replace your magic that might not be very helpful. I guess any sort of expert would be a good place to start, though."

    "Like a magical doctor?"

    "To try to find something else that can fill in for your magic"

    TAAron just smiled at her.

    TAAron didn't feel the need to say anything, so he enjoyed the moment with her in silence.

    TAAron helped himself to a more diverse selection.

    He smiled back, though he was a bit embarrassed at his poor first attempt.

    He tried again, and this time managed to reach the bottom. However, he didn't quite stick the landing, and he stumbled a few steps before regaining his balance.

    He awkwardly slid a few feet, then slipped off of the banister and landed back on the stairs.

    He looked at it warily, then tried to sit in the banister. "This feels unsafe."

    "...Maybe you should go first."

    He blinked. "I've never done that before."

    TAAron quickly thanked her mother before walking out after her. "Yeah, a bit."

    "Alright. You probably know where to find that better than I do."
