  1. She shook his head. “Not much. I found him traveling with Nogard. He saved me from a falling castle.” She paused. “Not a word,” she warned.
  2. “No,” Beosta mumbled. “Tan, I’m not in love with Shoe. He’s just a great person, okay? You know him better than I do— he’s not the type to get into relationships anyway. Right?” Beosta was a lot more curious than she wanted to admit to herself.
  3. “No, I mean— forget it. Let’s go do something productive.”
  4. “It’s… because Nethek kissed her.” Scud. She hadn’t thought about kissing. She turned deeply red.
  5. Beosta sighed. “I’m not, okay? Love is, like… it’s not like this. My brother explained it to me, and it’s different.” She frowned. She didn’t actually remember how.
  6. “He said I was crazy,” she maintained. “I was tired. I didn’t mean all that stuff.” She pushed aside the part of her brain that wanted to abandon this conversation and go find an excuse to hug Shoe.
  7. Face burning, Beosta gave her the ugliest glare she could muster. “I am not in love with your brother. He just makes me happy, okay? Is that such a shock? He’s the best person I’ve ever met. I am not in love with him.”
  8. Hehehe.

I might post it on here if I can finish it and edit it up all nice

  9. Livetha did so eagerly, even before Beosta could blush. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she declared.
  10. You and me both until my computer boots back up.
  11. Livetha chirped and hopped onto Tam's head, patting down her hair to make a nest. Beosta laughed. "Everything went great!"
  12. They hiked back to the town. Beosta was quite pleased with herself, and she could feel through the bond that Livetha was pleased, too, if kind of nervous. I won't stretch that far again unless I absolutely have to, Beosta promised her. We'll practice and get better at this whole thing. Okay? Livetha agreed.
  13. Livetha sat up, chirped, and hopped to Shoe's shoulder to sniff his ears. Roth appeared again, impatient, and before anyone could protest, he threw some glitter at Beosta and her stoat, snapped his fingers, and left. Beosta gasped. The bond deepened and widened, now more like a tunnel than a string. She grinned. "Let's go back now."
  14. She chirped happily when she saw him. Roth appeared again, nearly scaring Beosta out of her skin. "Stop doing that." He gave her a flat look. No, thank you. Are you two ready to finish off the bond? "We should wait until Livetha's feeling better," Beosta replied. Roth huffed and vanished again. Livetha, however, was grateful for the consideration.
  15. I hope so. She's close. Here--- wait here. Beosta climbed into a tree and found Livetha curled up on one of the branches. The stoat's breathing was shallow, but she cracked her eyes open and chittered in a reassuring way. Beosta climbed down the tree cradling her close. "She's okay. But... I think she took a lot of damage from what I did to the withergeists."
  16. Beosta couldn't stop smiling. She told Livetha mentally that they'd done it-- they'd completed their CD! No answer. She frowned. Livetha, you all right? All she got back was the impression of a yes. Beosta broke into a jog.
  17. She beamed. "We did! We did it. Thank you, Shoe. Thank you so much for helping me."
  18. She smiled at him. Yeah. Thanks. On your way. Roth vanished.
  19. He gave Shoe a once-over. Yes. Really. Thank you for the help, by the way. You've been a vital part of her character development process. Beosta paused. "Character... development?" Her eyes widened. "CD. Character Development?" Yes, of course. What did you think it stood for? He sighed, frown deepening. Kids these days. At any rate, you've gone through enough character development that I'm confident letting you loose on the world now.
  20. I am inclined to agree, Roth said finally. As soon as you find Livetha, I will formalize your bond. Beosta straightened, eyes brightening. "Really? That's... that's great! Thank you." I'm just doing my job. He sounded irritated.
  21. Good day. Beosta waited. Stop being so tense. It'll either count or it won't and there's nothing you can do about it. Roth narrowed his eyes at her. I'll cut to the chase. Do your\ believe your part in what happened here-- he waved his hand at the town-- should count as your final? "I think so. Yeah." Where is Livetha? "We're going to get her now." Roth examined her. She hated how he made her feel like a specimen. I see. HELLO WHY
  22. She thought about that for a second. I think so. I'm not giving up on those people yet, but there's not much we can do until we learn more. It's-- She yelped as Roth appeared in front of the two.
  23. It hurts, but nothing awful. It's nice being around a Narrator who can just give me more energy.
  24. “…party? Okay…” She’s just got the energy to have the connection back I can hear you again. She smiled and started into the forest.
  25. Sadly, four minutes is not.
