    Bat nodded and looked down at his hands. “Sorry,” he mumbled. “For the whole… thing.” If you are having fun, I’d recommend finding a certain rper or character and going on a quest with just them. That way, if the interaction is usually between just the two of your characters, it makes it easier to manage. Night, all!

    Bat screamed, then turned a deep shade of crimson. “You can’t just sneak up on someone like that!! That’s… that’s… basically terrorism!”

    “Thanks. —Sorry.” He swallowed. “Uh… so… why is your brother so terrifying?”

    “Yes,” he said. Yes, it is.” He leaned back, tipping his head up to the sky. “Please don’t even joke about that. It’s… thinking about it is terrifying.”

    He hesitated again. “Well….. we basically… our first ancestors angered a g— Narrator. So they built a defect into us that only Narrators can exploit. But if they do, we’re dead. We just die like that.” He pulled up his sleeve a little to show some more of the Nullite patterns on his skin. “Hence these.”

Because… because…” she let go of Bacon. “Because for a minute, I thought… Bacon, sometimes I look at Shoe and my chest wants to explode because he’s really cute and really sweet and being around him makes me happy and sometimes I just wanna hug him and never let go.” She paused. “Good to know I’m crazy, though.”

    Beosta hesitated. “We’ll be right back, Shoe.” She grabbed Bacon and followed the woman, but before they got to the cages, she turned to Bacon and put both her hands on his shoulders. “I need you to tell me something,” she declared. “I need you to tell me that I’m just crazy because I overextended myself.”

The connection wasn’t there. instead, Beosta reached for a general feel of Livetha’s location. “She’s… north. Ish.”
