    Bat’s eyes widened. “I don’t have any good weapons! Those things are dangerous!!” actually nvm. Bea’s good and I hafta get off soon anyway.

    Bat wasn't sure what to do. He'd always thought it was weird, how that guy didn't say anything. Beosta seemed to hear him anyway, which made him scared of both. He shifted onto his other foot.

    Bat handed him a big wooden stick.

    Beosta wondered at one point where Livetha was because she vanished in the forest. "JOIN US OR I'LL KILL YOUR SISTER!" Gaioh screamed. "I'LL KILL HER!"

    .......... you're right. Livetha was nowhere to be seen. Gaioh turned on him and hissed. "You will join us too. You will join us!" Bat scrabbled in his satchel for a dagger.

    Bat ran out of the manor, chased by a corrupted Geioh. "Somebody HELP ME!"

    "Oh. Okay." I'm fine. I'm fine. I... She stared at him. Why didn't she want him to fight? It was the smartest option. It made sense. But... he was the sweetest person she'd ever met, and... The mental connections all snapped before she finished her thought-- and she cared more about him than she'd ever cared about anyone. Beosta blacked out. -- Geioh had thought of going upstairs in the manor to hide from the withergeists, but Bat followed. Unfortunately, Geioh got distracted by Bat's loud clomping and got possessed by a withergeist. Bat ran away to where the others were.

    "Yeah, well, you already got in danger. I'm sick of you being a hostage." She turned toward the pale man. Livetha, sensing her intent, connected her to his soul. She tore at it as she had before (it prolly doesn't do much @xinoehp512 cuz she's already tired), but she started seeing stars, and her ability to hold Livetha's strength and speed and all the other random stuff she'd borrowed snapped. She swayed, then steadied herself against the wall. Standing up is hard.

    Yes. She mirrored him, then arched an eyebrow. Don't tell me you actually have a weapon that can hurt him. He actually looked kind of cute when he was stubborn. Gail stared, wide eyed. "I... don't understand."

    Beosta swore a bunch mentally. Forgot about the Nullite. "If you're sure." She looked over. "Dang. Guess I better go help... But you're not going anywhere."

    Dang I might use that one. My dad would think it's good.

    "Hold on." She grabbed his shoulders and spun him around, examining him up and down. "Tell me honestly--- are you hurt at all? Broken ribs? Bruising?" Tam, can you heal him? Maybe give him some buffs in case it happens again? Invincibility?

    “Yes, you are,” Beosta snapped. “Go fight or something and leave us alone.” It’s not personal. She’s stressed and about three minutes from passing out… Shoe is important to her, you see. Gail slumped in relief. @Through The Living Glass

    Beosta mentally swore again. I’ll believe that when we’re not running away from him! She tugged him over to a wall, which gave them some cover for whatever chaos was going on. [I’m positive. He’s delicious. My- my bunny told me so.]

    Gail was gonna cry. [No! I’m not tasty. He’s tasty!] She pointed at the Silent Hero. The )@583) not?? She kept climbing. They arrived at the top and she tugged Shoe out of the hole, glancing around for anywhere that could potentially make a bunker— or just somewhere to hide for a second so she could make sure he wasn’t hurt.

    Can you do something useful? Beosta snapped. Like teleport him somewhere safe? Beosta cursed. Beosta leaped onto the ladder, climbing quickly. She paused and looked back for Shoe.

    She slowed so he could keep pace with her. “I’m taking… Livetha’s… speed,” she huffed. “Scud, where do we go?”

    “TP!” Gail called, voice tremoring. “TP!” Beosta spun away, then grabbed Shoe while the guard was incapacitated and dragged him back the way she’d come at a full sprint. Which was very fast, since she was drawing from Livetha. @Through The Living Glass

    Gail panicked. Oh, why didn’t she have a weapon?? She grabbed a piece of stone from nearby, trembling. Saving you! She shoved the guard back and sprinted for the cage. I’m saving you!

    Beosta darted forward, pulling from the shared well of speed that somehow felt deeper now, burying the knife in the guard’s chest. Gail screamed and dodged, but the arrow still lodged in her shoulder. She ducked, holding Qodi to her chest. I’m saving you.

    Beosta gritted her teeth. Livetha connected her to another, then another, then two at once, then five. I can’t keep doing this, Beosta told her. I’m getting tired. Run, Livetha replied. Beosta charged the withergeists. She crushed the ones that got close, then headed down the hallway, listening for Shoe.
