  1. Hello, hello, hello. This topic here is for anyone who is a Sharder, well I guess that’s you! What a coincidence! If you haven’t already heard there are rumours and plans spreading about us, the members and staff of the Seventeenth Shard coming together for The 17S International Potluck in India TM this, I am sorry to inform you is just rumours, at the moment but YOU, yes you could help bring these rumours to reality. That is if YOU happens to be an insanely rich person happy to fly a bunch of people out to India for an event that sounds really awesome. If you by some miracle haven’t heard of the The 17S International Potluck in India TM then allow me to explain. What started with a humble idea to go on a from our lovely @Szeth's Facepalm. Sparked something in my brain, and in all of our hearts. I posted this immediately after: The 17S International Potluck in India TM is an international potluck in India with a bunch of 17th Sharders. Of course this incredible dream cannot become reality until YOU comes along so for now this is a thread, a club if you will, for all Sharders to tell us what they would bring and/or a recipe for the The 17S International Potluck in India TM. Even though You’ll need to tell us what you’re bringing where the food is from. Tell us why you (not YOU) would bring it to the The 17S International Potluck in India TM does it have a funny story,? did your nonna make it for you when you were a kid? Do you just like it? Is it a staple of your country? If you try one of the foods mentioned in this thread, let us know! Did you like it? Would you have it again? 2. Hahaha << the approximate sound of my laughter. good rule. I’ll try to make sure there’s garlic bread at every social gathering I run. Not that I’ve run or hosted a social gathering since my tenth birthday party but, as the cool kidz say: whatevverrrrrr
  3. :((( you don’t want to come to the 17S international potluck in India TM?
  4. I had a feeling that I misconstrued that comment as soon as I read it. I gave you the benefit of the doubt though. Tut, tut, tut. Please bring garlic bread. Thanks
  5. There will be. You’re bringing it , right?
  6. Okay… WOAH!! TAKE MY REP THAT IS INCREDIBLE!! the colours are super cool, the cloak is swishy in all the best ways possible, the pose!(crossed arms are super hard to get right), the sword? AWESOME, the hair? THIS IS VERY GOOD!
  7. Well, today has certainly been the most eventful uneventful day ever. What do I mean by this? Well basically I stayed at home all day doing nothing. But if you really look at it I finished what I’d consider my first real art piece. Put my emotions through a blender and paper mache-d them back together and then become a professional manipulator and diplomat, and used those skills to get someone to put Stormlight on their tbr list.
First the art. If you haven’t already checked out my art thread please do because you’ll get the full story there but I found an old unfinished sketch inspired by an awesome short story my our very own Silhouette that I turned into art.
    Next. The blender.
The Magnus archives is a horror fiction podcast that is very good. I finished season one today and, rust and ruin, I cried. That second last episode had hilarious bits, terrifying bits, adorable bits and sad bits. Please listen to TMA now.
I am a very sleep deprived sick lunatic whose emotions have been ,Essex with so badly in a good way so if any of my posts in the last 24 hours seem… off. That’s why.
    Next. The manipulator.
I have a friend (shock, horror, really? Haha very funny) this friend is extremely good at art and so I asked them for advice with my drawing. When I was done, it definitely did not come out as I planned(but in a good way). That’s when the scheme erupted in my drunken-on-fatigue brain. I’d been trying to find a way to pitch Stormlight to them without boring them. I knew what this friend liked in books and I knew that the idea of Spren would really appeal to them.  Sooooo I sent them the image and made an “offhand” (totally ;) ) comment about how it wasn’t what I was planning on coming out and how I’d gotten so wrapped up in the art l must’ve attracted a bunch of Creationspren. They naturally were like “huh?” and I, super innocently responded with something like “whoops, you wouldn’t get that reference, you haven’t read it” of course I knew that my friend would be even more intrigued by this and they asked what the reference was I gave a short (but compelling) explanation of Spren, the basic ones, mentioning Radiant oaths and sentient Spren probably would have scared him off at that point. They asked what book it was and I told them. Imagine my excitement when they said that he would add it to their tbr! (And it was completely their idea too ;) .-. ) My first friend to say “maybe to a Brando book!
Today was a truly monumental nothing day! I should get Covid more often
    Good night.

  9. Ahem!!!! It is done!!!! buuuuuuuut I can’t get the image to upload so I’m going to try on my laptop and then do the screenshot thing. be back in 5! EDIT: @Shining Silhouette progress Now for the moment we all I've been waiting for!
  10. Um what??? PIZZA BAGELS??? THOSE ARE A THING!!??? how did I not know this???
  11. Oh, that was intentional. I was quoting myself. Is that a spoiler? I’ll change it if you think that should be in a spoiler box. I can’t wait!
  12. Magnus Chase are definitely the best Riordainverse books and Alex Fierro is my one of my favourite characters ever, second only to Hrathen. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk *mic drop* I really do love it though.
  13. The Great Gatsby. So far it is not what I expected. It is definitely a “ vibe” however. Also Skyward. Spensa reminds me so much of my best friend. Short, angry, determined, aggressive, the way she speaks… it’s uncanny.
  14. Encanto is the best Disney “princess” musical movie ever. I feel like without Hrathen I wouldn’t have liked Elantris even half as much. He is the best character in it and is what made Elantris good for me.
  15. Blahhhhhhhhhh. This exists???!! I need to spill my soul to you. I just finished season one and everything is numb and alive at the same time. My emotions are a wreck and I am blown away by how incredible that was. As I so eloquently stated to Facepalm Helppp. ;-;
  16. Thanks. no. I just finished ep 39 and I am dying on the inside. So many emotions I just started 40 now and eeeeeeeeeeeeee heres my play by play I wrote while listening to it if you’re interested.
  17. I love this, please continue!!!!!!

  20. Okie dokie!
  21. I’m double posting. Chaos will strike me with forum lord ruler lightning powers!!! anyway… I was wondering do you want me to post where I’m up to at intervals or just at the end? I think the end would be more dramatic but live progress updates would be cool too
  22. THANK YOU!! *throws pain au chocolat* I’M GOING TO GO DO IT RIGHT NOW GOODBYE. SEE YOU IN A COUPLE HOURS (?) WITH A MORE FINISHED VERSION!!!!!! IM ON MOBILE AND MY DOUBLE ARROW CAPSLOCK THING WONT UN CLICK. WOOOOOO. YELLING IN CAPITAL LETTERS IS SO FUN!!!!
  23. Ha! Well blame the creation spren for mine, I wasn't necessarily trying to draw you when I started. The short story just inspired me! So really its because of you that your hair is cool so by extension your hair is cool! (not that it wasn't originally, its just extra cool now!) I DID SOME MAGNUS ARCHIVES FANART. @Szeth's Facepalm CONVINCED ME TO LISTEN TO IT, I DID AND IT IS REALLY GOOD. YOU SHOULD GO LISTEN TO IT TOO.
  24. okie dokie! It'll hopefully be done by tonight! What colour would you like the suit/ hair? Do you want it similar to Telrao's?
  25. Oh my goodness gracious me! I found a sketckbook that I lost and guess what was in it? It was an unfinished drawing inspired by this short story by @Shining Silhouette! I drew it as soon as I read it and totally forgot about it until I saw @Telraos commission they did for Silho! I went back though my phone and found some progress pics I took while I was drawing it (along with this picture I posted, I suppose that it would have been a 'progress pic' too if I'd ever finished it) . Then I hunted for the actual sketchbook! progress pics: Should I finish it?
