  1. So, as of The Sunlit Man, we know Sigzil became a Skybreaker. This has caused some consternation, as Sigzil bonded an honorspren, like the vast majority of Bridge Four. This has led to some theorizing, and I am here to "help." This WoB came from Dragonsteel 2023 (emphasis mine). Unless there is another highly obvious candidate, I am here to propose that this is in fact Sigzil. Support evidence? Well...I am the first to admit that we do not have much, beyond the fact that Sigzil needs to bond with Auxiliary at some point. So, here are the points of evidence I have managed to collect. Evidence 1: I cannot think of anyone else the above WoB could refer to. If anyone here has a better idea, this evidence becomes forfeit. Evidence 2: Sigzil was reluctant to join the diplomatic mission to Shadesmar in RoW. He claims that the spren there would be very upset with any Windrunner, which is valid. But what if he also fears more? He could fear being revealed to be a Skybreaker (given spren cannot hide themselves in Shadesmar) or how other spren would react to a highspren (given the opinions other spren have expressed). That's basically it. Thoughts?

  3. Oh, I like that. Say, what happens when a Surgebinder uses Lightweaving to generate the Anti-Tone to Stormlight? Does the construct self-destruct? 36. Laser eyes. Need I say more? 37. X-ray vision, but with a twist. Instant irradiation, and a subsequent slow and painful death.

Bonus points if the disguise is ever so slightly off, for more Lovecraftian style. 30. Making a rope bridge look much more rickety than your pursuers think, buying you some time. 31. The inverse. Make your pursuer think there's a bridge over a chasm, but there isn't. 32. Trap your opponent in an auditory dead zone. (This one I'm less sure is possible, as it depends in Lightweaving can only generate waveforms or manipulate existing ones.) 33. Make a hemlock berry look like an innocent blueberry. Then leave in the general vicinity of an opponent. 34. Create an illusion of food/water/shelter/allies/something valuable that the pursuer can just see, but never reach. (Again, less sure of this one.) 35. Conjure a horde of Lightweaved (Lightwoven?) enemies that you then dispatch with supernatural ease, to make yourself look very powerful.

Everything looks incredible, and I may have an addiction to documentation of the people behind such creative projects...eh, 98% of what you learn at school is a waste anyway. Everything looks amazing, and it was an absolute treat reading through your creative process and personal thoughts. Thank you for posting this, it has made my day.
  6. Related Idea: Awakened Wax Walls. Command them to re-form into a specific shape, no matter what. So when a Shardbearer tries to hack through, they are defeated. Foolproof plan, absolutely nothing could go wrong.
  7. I have a WoB on that. So, not likely a Shard, or an Avatar. It could be a Splinter, but most sapient Splinters seem region-locked. like spren or seons. Also, how did it form a perpendicularity? It's innate Investiture shouldn't be enough to create a perpendicularity, to our knowledge. Has it been collecting Investiture from the Iriali for some time now? According to the Coppermind, those present feel "drained" after Cusicesh descends.
  8. So, A-Pewter is a wondrous thing. It provides enhanced speed, strength, balance, dexterity, durability, healing, and hardiness. It seems to Push every positive physical attribute that exists. It is, in a word, overpowered. Thank Harmony A-Pewter is limited by the power ceilings of Allomancy, especially in its post-Era 1 diluted form. After all, imagine if a person could increase the enhancements provided by burning pewter. They would be nearly unstoppable. They would heal faster, hit hard, break harder, move swiftly, and more. They would have impeccable balance. They might theoretically be immune to all poisons, drugs, and foreign substances. Yep, so glad there's no way to hack this. Oh wait... Alrighty then. Feruchemical attributes can be tapped at abnormally high rates, at the cost of net loss of stored power. Thus, Windwhisperers can hear further than Tineyes, Brutes can lift more than Thugs, and so on. Feruchemy can manifest impressive amounts of Investiture in a single glorious burst, as opposed to Allomancy's more steady burns. A-Pewter strength can be stored in a metalmind, which can then be tapped later, potentially at higher rates. This is great. I have several questions now, inspired by this post. Could the appropriate Twinborn Compound a pewtermind containing A-Pewter strength? Benefits: A-Pewter strength does not increase physical mass. Does this have any effect, or does such a metal produce the same amount of Investiture as burning normal pewter? Is this actually limiting, since such a metalmind would only provide A-Pewter's strength, with nothing else? Could a Full Feruchemist store each of the attributes enhanced by A-Pewter? They could fill steelminds, goldminds, bronzeminds, pewterminds, and tinminds with the powers of Allomantic Pewter (for my reference, that stores the enhanced speed, healing, wakefulness(?), strength, balance, dexterity, and probably more). And...yeah, that's about it. Thoughts?

It's a very good thing linchpin stamps exist, otherwise the only way to utilize these power boosts would be to somehow levitate a giant stone pillar into stamping motion, which I don't think anyone wants to deal with. I do question what extra power would offer in Forgery. Then again [Spoilers for Mistborn] Could unlikely transformations become permanent with more power? I feel like that sort of defeats the spirit of Forgery, but who knows. I'll take it one step further. What about ChayShan? Could a larger person channel more Dor as they engage with the forms? Either naturally larger people, or someone like a [Spoilers for Cosmere]. Or maybe entire groups of JinDo can collectively perform a very complex form, and channel the Dor as a group? I wonder if ChayShan is purely a combative art, or if physical movements translate to other uses of Investiture.
  10. Oh, I just had a stupid idea. F-Iron (technically) enhances mass. So, its not quite the theory that's at play that allows speed bubbles to function on moving trains, but maybe these kind of mental gymnastics are what allow Metalborn to do these sorts of incredible things? Beyond that, this thread was an absolute treat to read, thank you guys for theorizing so extensively.
  11. You are absolutely correct, I should have addressed this. A Feruchemist is capable of expressing the entirety of a metalmind's stored attribute within a second or so. This grants them an immense surge of power, such as ungodly strength, bewildering speed, or temporary immortality. The issue I am addressing is the power lost. The issue is that in order to express more than 150% of a given attribute, some Feruchemical reserves must be sacrificed for the sake of greater power. These are the "diminishing returns" I cited in the title of this post. Now, I think this can be avoided with Allomantic Duralumin, which supercharges Invested Arts (an oversimplification, but a fairly accurate one) in order to compress Feruchemical attributes. The outside manifestation of Investiture should prevent the loss of Feruchemical reserves while still achieving the same hypercharged effect.
  12. Ah yes, I'd forgotten to include this in my first post. So, easiest way to solve this would be to shift an appropriate amount of power into an extra metalmind. There are WoBs of this being done at very efficient rates. Some would be lost, but this means that you can select how much to put in a particular metalmind, then Duralumin-tap to summon all of it. No. Tapping a metal mind is regular feruchemy. The reason why Duralumin can impact Compounding specifically, is because when a twinborn Compounds, they are burning a metalmind Allomantically (not "Tapping" - "Burning") - and Durlumin is able to release all of the potential of an Allomantic source in a single burst. Burning Durlumin would not effect Tapping - and even if they somehow found a way to hack it to effect Tapping a Metalmind, it would be the same as what Feruchemy can already accomplish by compressing the storage to release the entire amount at one time. So, this is in reference to the Coppermind excerpt above. However, I direct you the WoB cited in the passage above. So, this clearly states that Duralumin can affect other Invested Arts, which could theoretically translate to Feruchemy. Thank god, someone else recognizes this. I agree, I think A-Aluminum has great cosmerological implications. However, I find it extremely annoying that Aluminum destroys itself as an Allomantic reserve when burned. I've always wondered: could A-Aluminum prevent Emotional Allomancy? What about Atium shadows? Could Aluminum briefly disrupt those? How about time bubbles? Could you free yourself from their influence? Such fun to consider.
  13. Okay, quick crash course in Feruchemy. Store iron to become half as heavy for 10 minutes, tap iron to become twice as heavy for 10 minutes later on. Greater heights reached with greater compression of Investiture, though some is lost to facilitate said compression. Good? Good. Allomantic Duralumin exists. So, extrapolating from this, A Duralumin Gnat who is also a Ferring may be able to tap their metalmind, then burn A-Duralumin for an enormous burst of instant Feruchemical power. And, if I am theorizing correctly, since it is the Duralumin provides the compression factor, nothing should be lost in the Feruchemy system. After all, A-Duralumin utilizes Investiture (never explicitly stated, but what else would it be?) to release all Allomantic potential in a single action. For Vin and Elend, this meant controlling Hemalurgic constructs. For Wax and Dumad, this meant enormously powerful Steelpushes. We have also seen A-Duralumin cave in human skulls, completely suppress a human's emotions, and stop time itself. What would this mean for Feruchemy? Well, not much, beyond a more efficient expression of Investiture, but hey, every little bit helps. This would make Duralumin a more useful metal for Twinborn, even if Mistings will have to cope. This also furthers my mission in showcasing the utility of every Allomantic metal, even the less obviously useful ones. Except Aluminum. That will never change.

I'll think on it and theorize more later - but I want to note that in WoA, when Vin burned Bronze+Durlumin she was able to sense th ethoughs and emotions Breeze was sending, as well as sense the target - which, to me, implies the "resistant to emotional allomancy" effect is likely blocking a Cognitive Connection that is temporarily formed (similar to Brandon saying that Zinc/Brass control hemalurgic constructs by lapping power at their Cognitive Aspect). Fascinating. Maybe this explains both how Seeking and Emotional Allomancy are suppressed. Maybe Smoking nullifies certain types of Connection within a certain radius, which prevents Seekers from Connecting to Allomantic Pulses, or Rioters/Soothers from Connecting with the Smoker, or [Spoilers for The Stormlight Archive] This also explains why Seeking wouldn't work within a Coppercloud, as the Connection cannot reach the Seeker. It does not, however, neatly explain why or how a sufficiently powerful Seeker can overpower a Coppercloud. It does explain how only certain Smokers can prevent Emotional Allomancy for others: specific Intent in nullifying certain Connections may require practice, just as Seekers sensing Feruchemy requires practice.
  15. I feel like Cadmium is the undeserving laughingstock of Allomancy. It has many uses, as exhibited by Marasi. She has used it to stall Miles Hundredlives for capture, incapacitate unsuspecting opponents, redirect gunfire, and thanks to Harmonium grenades, render opponents absolutely useless. Cadmium deserves more love. In fact, here's a use that absolutely no one can deny as useful: paramedic situations. Imagine a person grievously injured who needs to make it to the hospital ASAP. Coinshots and Lurchers won't do, the patient is in a delicate state, and unnecessary motion would be harmful. Even an A-Bendalloy Savant would be very useless: they would freeze everyone else, but it would take them the same amount of time to get to the hospital as anyone else. No, the best thing to do is load them into an ambulance, have a Pulser erect a slowness bubble, and start driving. By the time they arrive and signal the Pulser, it's as though only seconds have passed for the patient. They can receive practically immediate care. Obviously, the vehicle would have to be big enough to isolate the bubble and move it through the streets, and the Pulser may require training. Small prices to pay for instant medical attention. This could be improved with the application of a Nicroburst. Stuff a Pulser absolutely chock-full of Cadmium, Nicroburst the living daylights out of them, and if Wayne's example is anything to go by, time inside the bubble will literally stop.
  16. God Metals are such a shaky place for theorizing. They seem to have such wide and varied qualities that I would be tempted classify them as a soft magic system. I mean, look at everything we know about them in general. They can be alloyed into (theoretically) sixteen further alloys The properties of these alloys are (theoretically) grounded in the inherent attributes of the two base metals They can (also theoretically) be alloyed with other God Metals Same prior quality principle They can reflect the inner state of the Shard they originate from (see Sazed and Harmonium's volatile nature) They can be formed by Investiture manifesting into a solid state (which would align with a specific Shard) Each form of Investiture would read with unique spectrums of light Each God Metal has an Allomantic, Feruchemical, and Hemalurgic effect (and something else, apparently) Vessels influence the effects of God Metals And that is ignoring all the individual attributes of God Metals, such as some being universally burnable. Take Bavadinium splitting Harmonium, or concealing Hemalurgic constructs, or repelling Investiture. That's not even mentioning (Cosmere spoilers) As for Lerasium specifically, we know a few things When burned, it grants Allomancy in strength proportional to the amount of metal When alloyed with the base 16 metals, it grants Allomancy in those specific metals When alloyed with God Metals, it can grant the Invested Art of other Shards Can be utilized with Atium somehow to grant Feruchemy Crack theory: perhaps by being alloyed with Feruchemically charged metal? Results from Harmonium along with Atium when split by means of Bavadinium Though, if Sazed is to be believed, other circumstances may be necessary Burned in sufficient qualities to achieve Savantism, the person simply Ascends Using Lerasium as a Hemalurgic spike is somehow a waste What can we conclude from this information? Lerasium is seriously overpowered, we might be very lucky Hoid simply burned it for Allomancy. Lerasium seems to have the general property of bestowing abilities, with tweaks leading to different results. It doesn't grant Investiture (I mean, outside of being Investiture made solid), but it rewrites the Spiritweb to facilitate the use of Invested Arts. Though it doesn't seem to align with the Intent of Preservation, we have evidence to suggest the Vessel has more of an influence on God Metal properties, rather than Shardic Intent. Maybe Leras was an ambitious fellow, or really cared about others, wanting to help as many as possible? Logically, this means Lerasium could be used to grant anyone any Invested Art, with the ability of sDNA rewriting being a side effect. However, this almost directly contradicts Brandon stating Allomancy is a side effect. Then again, maybe Allomancy specifically is the side effect, but power bestowal is the true effect Tl;dr: Based on evidence suggesting that the Cosmerological properties of God Metals are actually a result of Vessels( as opposed to Shardic Intent), and what little we saw of Leras in Mistborn, I propose that the "true" purpose of Lerasium is to grant powers to those who burn it. Leras seemed to view himself as a true deity, planning to save the Scadrians from Ruin, meeting with the dead, and more. It's not a huge stretch to say he cared very much about people, and wanted to help empower them. What power? Well, according to this theory, that depends on specific circumstances, such as Intent, alloy purity, Connection(?) and possibly much more.
  17. I do wonder as to the full extent of a Smoker's abilities, on a Cosmerological level. They seem to be able to effect both Pulses (which emanate) from all kinetic Investiture, and whatever facilitates Emotional Allomantic manipulation. It could be Kinetic Investiture, it could be Connection, it could be something else entirely, but it probably isn't Investiture-pulses that change a person's emotions. So, just what exactly can a copper Misting Smoke? They obviously prevent detection in some way or another, with relative strength on both sides being a key factor. They also make the Misting immune to Emotional Allomancy. So, could they protect themselves from other Investiture-based influencers? Could they [Cosmere spoilers] Beyond this, I'll have to find that passage on Vin's exact thoughts on copper to theorize on the exact mechanics of copper.
  18. With the proper alteration of Identity, I think sufficient Investiture could change anyone's body, as their Cognitive self has shifted. Of course, this is only the case if Identity is equivalent to Cognitive self-perception, but I don't think anything outright contradicts this. So, as I see it, an 80-year old would need to somehow take on the identity of himself at the age of 20. Then, he would gain enough Breaths to reach the 5th Heightening, and that might be enough to send his body into a reverse-aging spiral, then preserve itself at that point. [Spoilers for full Cosmere]
  19. Well, you see, the advantage comes with the fact that Bendalloy needs a few seconds to reactivate time bubbles, on which the Slider is vulnerable. This is why multiple Sliders are necessary in the scenario I described above, to allow the cooldown to elapse between the lot of them, so that the time bubble never stops. Not quite. See, as soon as Bendalloy Bill exits his time bubble, it pops. I specified that as soon as all Sliders hit the edge of a bubble, that is when the next bubble is thrown up. So yes, they would all be caught in a "stacked bubble" but only for a moment or so. If the Sliders were to try and stack bubbles the whole way (at least in the numbers I've described above) they would have to re-enter normal for at least a few seconds. Instead, in the scenario described above, it is almost as though the time bubble moves with the Allomancer, similar to a Bendalloy Savant (hence the title of this post).
  20. Allow me to introduce my dear friends William, Bartholomew, Robert, and Benjamin, all of whom are Sliders. We call them Bendalloy Bill, Bart, Bob, and Ben. They have all sorts of fun together. Two of them are secretly related, one is secretly Twinborn, another is secretly a Hemalurgist, one was responsible for another losing a parent, and all sorts of fun relationships. Oh, and they also cracked the code to superspeed. Bendalloy Bill throws up a speed bubble with his friends Bart, Bob, and Ben inside it. All four of them then walk to the edge of the bubble. As soon as they touch the perimeter (where the speed effect is still engaged) Bendalloy Bart speeds up time. They continue walking at a leisurely pace, until reaching the edge of the bubble yet again. Thankfully, Bendalloy Bob steps up and burns some Bendalloy, creating yet another speed bubble. They keep going until-you guessed it-they reach the edge of the bubble. As soon as that happens-you guessed it-who should start burning Bendalloy than Bendalloy Ben. And so they keep walking, until it cycles back to good old Bendalloy Bill. And meanwhile, they are moving faster than the eye can see while everyone around them remains practically frozen in time. Thoughts?
  21. Can they? A kandra and a mistwraith are not biologically distinct. The only difference is the Hemalurgy-induced sentience that are kandra Blessings. 73. Bio-Luminescence. More of a general ability, but could be useful in the dark. Could also be used to blind enemies. Just a very versatile ability to have. 74. Biological Prosthetics. A kandra could fashion a replacement limb (say, a missing left hand) for a human the same way they create their True Bodies, with the other, matching limb (the remaining right hand) providing the reference to manufacture an artificial skeleton. They would then generate flesh to cover the skeleton, the same way MeLaan healed Marasi's bullet wound in the Bands of Mourning. After connecting veins, stitching nerve endings, grafting bones, and extensive physical therapy, a human would have a virtually identical biological prosthetic.
  22. Yes, absolutely. Spoilers for The Stormlight Archive, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, and the Cosmere as a whole. As for the idea...in my opinion, not quite possible. The kandra cannot reproduce with each other or other species, though Brandon has said he might go back on that. Still, as of now, the kandra cannot produce offspring. I do wonder if performing...whatever process the Lord Ruler originally used to create the kandra on [Spoilers for TSA and YatNP] However, in the theme of kandra sharing a mind [Spoilers for Warbreaker]
  23. Darn it, we will reach 101 kandra tricks. There are so many out there, it just takes the proper thought. 67. Hydrophobic Material Production. A bit on the mundane side, but a kandra could produce natural hydrophobic compounds, to help insulate themselves from terrible weather or waterproof objects. 68. Hide Tanning. Also mundane, but a kandra could theoretically kill an animal and use its own digestive fluids to render a hide supple and durable. Could be useful in survival situations, I don't know. 69. F-Iron Mass Hack. Pretty sure this hasn't been posited, but a kandra could circumvent the square-cube law slightly through Iron Feruchemy. And hey [Sunlit Man spoilers] 70. Automotive True Bodies. This is more on the ridiculous side, but imagine a True Body containing a mini engine (or solar panels, or something) with wheels attached to strategic locations. At will, the kandra could engage inner mechanisms, exposing the wheels to air and powering the rotors. A kandra could then rearrange its body to facilitate contact between the ground and the wheels, which are powered by the engine to spin at high speeds. In short, z o o m. Either that, or the kandra rigs a muscle-powered rotor system (which I have no idea how they'd manage, as no creature in nature tries for that), allowing them to spin the wheels under purely biological power. Amusingly, F-Steel might help this method gain even greater speed. Obviously, this theory had absolutely zero outside influences.
  24. Not necessarily, as the spike would need to strike a bindpoint, and Brandon has stated that kandra bindpoints are much more fluid. A Cosmere-aware kandra should be able to manipulate this.
  25. Yes, exactly that. I don't know where would be the best place to put that, maybe the very first post? Somewhere easily referenced, probably. 63. Sensory Hijacking. For lack of a better description, a kandra could connect to another being's nervous system and interpret signals to interpret what the subject senses. This way, a kandra could "see" what another person sees, or "hear" what another person hears. 64. Synesthesia Cyphers. Synesthesia is the fascinating "disability" of associating an unrelated sensory input with a conventional one. For example, a person would hear a word, and instantly visualize a color. There is no one type of synesthesia, and the range is theoretically limitless. If a kandra indicated to another kandra what form of synesthesia to adopt, they could leave cues that trigger words or impressions useful for conveying messages. Of course, it is possible that a kandra cannot make this alteration any more than they can make themselves depressed or autistic. Let me know what you think. 65. "Perfect" Hemalurgy. A kandra could encase the bind point from both ends in muscle, then manipulate a spike to pass through their flesh into the subjects, and straight out again. This would theoretically completely eliminate Hemalurgic decay, though Era 2 seems to have solved it according to the Ars Arcanum. 66. False Clothing. It makes sense to me that kandra could mimic a wide range of clothing with folds of skin. It would likely feel very odd to the touch, but in a pinch, it could serve well. Heck, with enough small bones, like chicken bones, they might be able to articulate these clothes, and have them act as extra limbs.
