  1. Amyra woke up, breathing sharply and dizzy. She looked down at her hands, which were washed of all blood from the vision. I must protect those who cannot protect themselves. Amyra stood. I cannot protect myself. She had to destroy them. Prove them wrong. I must protect myself. She had to kill, or accept death. There was no in between. There was no safety in numbers. Only betrayal. Only the selfishness of mortals.
  2. Amyra didn't turn back. She stared forward, eyes blank. "Neither do I."
  3. Help. Help. He wanted help from her. Amyra laughed dryly. "I can't help you," Amyra scoffed, turning away. She couldn't help him just as much as she couldn't help herself. She never would be able to help him. Protect him. Protect anyone. The best thing she could do was turn away. To leave them behind. Leave them all behind. "Go away," Amyra whispered, harhly, holding in tears.
  4. Amyra struggled to her feet. I will not falter. I will not break. She felt her own sticky blood drying on her skin. Her hair was whipped around by the unyielding wind of the highstorm. But she stood her ground. Somehow, she did not fall. "Destroy me," Amyra said under her breath, voice filled with hate. "I dare you."
  5. "I-" Amyra faltered, "Thank you." She steadied herself and stood stong, hand on the hilt of her blade. No fear. She had to be confident. She had to lose all emotions. All attachments. All trust. "Who are you?" Amyra asked the man. She would kill whoever she needed to stay alive. What a terrible Windrunner she'd become. No emotions. Cut all ties. And only then, you'll survive.
  6. Amyra gasped and fell to her knees, speechless. This man took his own life to protect hers. Why. Why? "You..." Amyra cried quietly, "You could've lived." She should've died. She should've died. There is only one way to survive in the world. Kill or be killed. She couldn't save him. She couldn't save anyone. No one could. Why had she been so blind? She should've died.
  7. Brightness... Amyra was stunned with the confusion. She... she was a lighteyes. No... This is all wrong... All so wrong... "But-" She protested, trying to escape from the soldier's grasp, "But they're dying! I must protect them!" Tears streamed down her cheeks and soaked into her clothing. "I must protect them..." She said again, trailing off as she watched the violence unfold.
  8. Amyra felt dizzy. She looked around and all she could see was red. All she could hear was screams. Blood! Blood! Blood! Her arms trembled as she drew her sword. "No..." She whispered under her breath. "NO!" She screeched, cutting down an attacking soldier. And the soldier fell to the ground, dead. Her heart stopped. She couldn't breathe. What had she done? Please, someone save her from this war. War... This terrible, terrible war.
  9. Amyra woke up to the slightest of sounds. Most likely just the wind. Wren was still asleep. It was light outside, but the storm was still raging. Goooood morning! Aerielle's voice sang in her head. Hey Aerie, Amyra said, leaning back against the inside of the ruby hut. Not even a good morning? Good morning, Amyra replied, monotone. Thank you. Amyra went outside to retrieve the shardbucket, and poured the water into the existing ditch she made in the hut. Well, someone's tired, Aerie remarked. I'm just thinking, Amyra sighed. Finally! I didn't think you would be capable, honestly. Amyra didn't reply. Okay, what are you thinking about, Aerie said after a while, curiosity giving in. I'm not supposed to be here. Clearly. I don't want to kill anyone. How unfortunate. What am I doing here? You think I know? Wow, I love the positive reinforcement, Amyra muttered. Yay! You got this! I believe in you! Aerie said in a childish, mocking voice. You're terrible. You know you love me, Aerie laughed. I do, Amyra admitted. I love you too, Aerie added. They were silent again, taking in the sounds of the highstorm in the morning.
  10. "Goodnight," Amyra told Wren, as she began to fall asleep in the ruby hut. She summoned Aerie as a sharbucket to place outside and collect rainwater as she slept. She trusted Wren, and she knew the highstorm would prevent any other tributes or monsters to enter the hut until riddens. She needed a good rest, and her shoulder would heal with the stormlight. Aerielle would wake her up if needed, at least Amyra could count on her for that.
  11. "Hey, Wren!" Amyra says, as Wren closes the door behind them, "It's been a while. Were you caught up in the chasms?"
  12. Amyra started collecting stormlit-infused rubies as the storm began to roll in.
  13. Amyra finished climbing up the cliff's wall, and looked around the plateau. The ruby hut was in sight. She started walking over when Anasi's voice boomed throughout the arena. Amyra tensed. Moments slipped by. She breathed a sigh of relief as her pin didn't fall off. Well, at least you managed not to screw one thing up, Aerie said. Aw, come on. I know you're proud of me, Amyra smiled. She reached the ruby hut, and closed the door behind her. The rainwater she collected was still there, untouched. She took some to wash out the gash across her shoulder, wincing at the pain as she bandaged the clean wound with the torn hem of her clothes. She was safe. For now.
  14. Yep! Amyra Ay has both her item and Wren's item. Wren survived the fight. (thanks Canada Lover)
  15. Amyra Ay starts climbing up onto a plateau, trying to reach where she saw Kaa and Ninddle earlier.
  16. Amyra nodded. "I'm not sure where Wren is anymore. Let's go take down Kaa. Last time I saw him, Ninddle was close behind."
  17. As Amyra ran through the chasms, she saw Ezrium battling. That was her ally. I know what you're thinking. Stop thinking it, Aerie advised. Amyra stopped in her tracks. Let's go. She began running over to where they were battling, to assist Ezrium.
  18. Amyra dashed in the opposite direction. Cthaelth had died. So had Bob and Komadori. Her shoulder was bleeding more every second. And her plan to kill Rolen went a-wire. She needed to find Wren. She needed to find someplace to rest. She ran to the ruby hut.
  19. Amyra Ay nodded, with a hint of a smile as she approached the center of battle again. She prepared herself, clutching the hilt of her shardblade tightly, and swung at Rolen once more, this time aiming for his upper leg. @Silver Phantom @Canada Lover @Lightweaver2
  20. Amyra jumps to the ground, ducking underneath the axe and retreating a bit, giving some space between her, Rolen, Komodori, Ezrium and Sage. She gets into a protective stance farther away from them, her heart racing. That was close, Aerie said. Amyra detected some nervousness in her spren. Yeah. Way too close. I felt the wind of axe over my head. Leave, Aerie urged Amyra. Not yet. Give me a second. I don't know why Komodori struck me-- I'm helping them. @Silver Phantom
  21. Amyra watched Rolen's sharp, precise movements as he tried to fight off Sage, Komadori, and Ezrium. She crouched in her hidden enclosure in the chasms, near the perpendicularity. She took a breath and summoned her shardblade. Are you ready? Aerie asked. She lunged for Rolen's back, propelling herself into the middle of the battle. Her shoulder screamed in pain from her earlier injury, but she ignored the pain for now. Rolen was weakened. She would take her chance. He must die.
  22. Amyra approached the perpendicularity, Aekelohanar's last words looming the air. She heard the sounds of battle and became apprehensive. No one could know she was near. Not yet. What's the plan? Aerie asked. I have no plan. Well, it's great to know that you always throw yourself into situations prepared, Aerie said.
