    Nerd(Eddie)

Bookwyrm re-entered the room in an immaculate suit. "I have a question for the accused," he said, loud enough for everyone to hear. "Though I don't think the word 'accused' is appropriate in this case...it is stated that you have personal reasons for not self-identifying under the qualifier of 'nerd'. However, I have yet to hear those reasons stated, in all my time aware of this case. Can you please list those reasons?" @Edema Rue
  2. Ma'tani walked over and sat next to Niamh, munching on her chunk of bread. "So, you see her problem?" @Through The Living Glass
  3. Brandon: "Oh, I had this idea for a non-cosmere thing, it's about halfway done now."

  4. My new job is annoying sometimes.

Because I can't write the things if the clients don't give me the information I need to write the things

But hey, at least I don't have to talk to them.

  5. Ma'tani grabbed a hunk of the bread. "Let me know if you find anything." Then she ducked into the corners of the room. Jolane was chatting with that minstrel from the previous night...Ma'tani considered talking to her, once Jolane had left. There was also the "witch-hunter". Though Ma'tani didn't particularly feel like gathering the patience to deal with him at the moment.
  6. Milay blinked. "No."
  7. Tinker followed Mark through the gate, making sure he was close to Marewill. He aimed for arms and legs with the rifle, disabling any Peacekeepers that got too close. Zephyr grenades to stun, Verdant grenades to incapacitate, Crimson to wound and scare away. It was effective, but he was running out of spores. And water. His mouth was dry, and he was having trouble soaking the fuses. Heh...ironic. I'm not even forming the Luhel bond myself and I'm still running out of water. He tossed a Zephyr grenade into a group of soldiers that were converging on Mark, and it exploded, throwing the soldiers in various directions and stopping them in their tracks. Let's hope it's not too much farther. @Spark of Hope *** Milay dashed into the sudden fray. Soldiers from the house were clashing with the government's Peacekeepers. Shots were being fired, spore grenades going off. She drew her obsidian knife and began incapacitating as many as she could; slicing arms, hands, ankles. Using Steel, she pushed bullets away from her and disarmed opponents. At one point she tripped and fell to the ground. As she rolled over to get up, she saw a Peacekeeper standing over her, rifle pointed at her head, murder in his eyes. She pushed, and the rifle shot upwards, hitting him in the head hard enough to knock him out before rocketing towards the ceiling. After it fell, she scrambled and grabbed it. Might come in handy. She ran through the battlefield to find her parents quickly and easily dispatching a group of the Peacekeepers with spore weaponry. Falr had a large gash in his arm, though. It looked bad. "Dad!" she called, running up to them as they finished the skirmish. "I'm okay," he said. "We'll get this patched up. Get the troops deeper into the tunnel." Milay hesitated, then nodded, running off again. She found Sharlin near the front of the fighting. "Hey!" she called. "Falr says to push the line forward!" @J. Magi
  8. Ma'tani nodded. "Uh...where'd you get that food?"
  9. Ma'tani nodded, completely serious. "Yeah. That's a possibility, too." And if that is the case... "True. I might go poke around town a little." She also wanted to look into the man that had been labelled as a "witch" the previous day. If he'd somehow got his hands on Shenai technology, that was something she was interested in.
  10. "Good. See how much he's paying her. When she got hired. Things like that." She leaned back. "Now I just have to find something to do all day..."
  11. Ma'tani watched her for a moment, silently. Yeah, we spooked her, all right... She stood up and slowly walked over to July, and sat down at the same table as him. "You have a plan for gathering information?" She asked softly. @J. Magi
  12. Ma'tani sat on her bed again. She'd been up late, thinking about Jolane, and the problems surrounding her. Lots of people would have said it was none of their business and moved on. Others would have done a little to help, maybe gone to the authorities, and hurried on their way, guilty they couldn't do more. Ma'tani intended to do far more than either of those. After all, Jianzi had done more than that for her. She left her room and used the key to lock it behind her. Then she descended the stairs and into the common room, waiting for one of the staff to come find her. Hopefully Jolane. Even better if it was Robert himself. @Spark of Hope @J. Magi @Anyone who's character would want to interact with a strange foreigner
  13. Ma'tani sighed. "...Fine." She met his eyes with a piercing glare. "But don't think for a moment I'm going to let you leave her." She smiled wryly. "We're stuck together now, the three of us. Until this all gets sorted out, at least. Hope you're ready." She turned and marched back up the stairs, and into her room, closing and locking the door behind her. Once she was alone, she stared down at the sword, still wrapped. Well, you'd probably have handled that better than I did, she thought. No matter. Maybe I'll have a companion or two when I finally find you again.
  14. ...Hi, I don't belong here, but I have a question; Why make one thread with three specific interests instead of three threads, one for each interest?
  15. "And what might that be? As you said, if there was an easy solution she would've already taken it."
  16. "To get some answers." She paused and turned to July when they were in the stairwell, out of Jolane's earshot. "I don't know what you just saw there, but what I saw was a girl who has been manipulated, and possibly abused, for far too long. I don't care how common it is in your lands; I'm going to do what I can to put a stop to it."
  17. Hey, uh, @Scars of Hathsin? I don't think I have time for this. Especially with a personal project and the fact that I likely won't be around during all of the writing period. I didn't realize you thought I said I was able to participate. Sorry.
  18. I love me some tomatoes. EDIT: Great...I want tomatoes now...
  19. Ma'tani's face went expressionless. She left July and Jolane in the doorway, walked to her room, and grabbed her sword, still wrapped in fabric. Then she walked downstairs to the common room of the inn.
