Bookwyrm blinked. "That was impressive." He looked down at his suit. "I guess I'm going to have to get a new one..." They put Eddie in a now root-soaked helicopter, which began to fly away. The now root-covered agent nodded. "Fine then. Come with me." She headed towards the main exit of the courtroom. "Legality is not the issue," the trooper said, his face hidden behind his mask. "We need to know. It's not our intent to harm anyone. We'll return her once we have the information we need."
  2. "?" You said. "What's a planet?" a disembodied voice asked Aureole.

The trooper falls, then rolls and smoothly stands up again. "These bullets won't kill you," he said, "but I still would rather not shoot you. Please calm down." "You won't interfere with the operation?"

One of the troopers put a hand to her ear, as if receiving instruction. Then she looked at Spark. "Why do you want to come?"

He is intercepted by a black trooper, who fires at him. The bullets glow with a strange light.

Bookwyrm stepped up to Eddie. "I'm sorry," he said. "I know I'm going to look like the bad guy here. But I have to know." He pulled out a tranquilizer dart and pricked Eddie on the arm. Suddenly, a squad of armed troops, dressed in black and wearing gas masks, burst into the courtroom. One of them picked up Eddie and threw her over his shoulder. "I promise I won't hurt her," Bookwyrm called to the courtroom. "I'm going to get to the bottom of this." He left the open door of the room, and the trooper carrying Eddie followed him. A few others went with them for protection, while the rest guarded the exit. I need to know. @Edema Rue

  9. We could do a game, in Elantris, post Reod. So everyone's a cursed zombie Elantrian who can't heal from pain and such. Not the next game, obviously, but down the line.
  10. "Come with us. To Moongaze. It's a hard life, but it's a happy one. There are people there who can help you."
  11. Ma'tani saw the two of them go upstairs. Might be a good time to have a chat... She nodded to Niamh (@Through The Living Glass) and climbed the stairs to the rooms. As she walked, though, she remembered July's warnings. Maybe he's right. Maybe I do need to be more subtle. Instead of interrupting them, she waited for a moment, seeing what July would say.
  12. There is some lore that's been made randomly over the years, and a few inside jokes that might not make sense at first. But for the most part you should be fine.
  13. Rashi turned to Crocus. "You four will need a place to stay, won't you?"

    "I know. Doesn't mean it isn't patronizing."
  15. Tinker grabbed her hand softly and squeezed it. "We made it."

He gave her a flat look. "No need to patronize me." He walked over to Eddie. "Are you still tipsy?" @Edema Rue
  17. Falr laughed hard at that. "No worries. You were in a tough position."
  18. Tinker hesitated. His face grew red. "O-of course." A huge grin flashed across Milay's face. "Meeting the parent already, huh, Tinker? She must like you." Tinker shot Milay a glare.
  19. The fighting... Was it over? Tinker looked around. There were fallen Peacekeepers everywhere. The sounds of the battle died down. But the corridor was a lot more crowded than it had been. Soldiers in white checked the Peacekeepers, making sure they were incapacitated. And...there were warriors in leather armor, wearing bandoliers of spore vials. ...It can't be. He walked forward, then ran, stumbling over bodies and debris. There were familiar faces. Men and women he'd known from his childhood. Leaders of nearby villages. Engineers and Sprouters. And then, finally, he saw them. His parents. He hadn't seen them since he snuck away in the night, to join the games, finding his way to the Capitol. He'd spent what felt like so long thinking he'd never get to see them again. Part of him had lost hope, despite all he had said. Part of him knew he was going to die before seeing his family. And now they were here. He couldn't stop the tears that began flowing down his face, couldn't stop the sob that came up from his throat as he stepped in front of them and fell on his knees. "I'm sorry," he managed to say. "I'm sorry." And then their arms were around him, and the tears flowed freely. "It's okay," his mother said. "You're here now," his father said. "You're alive. You're alive." After a long moment, he felt another hand on his shoulder. "You made it out, big brother." He turned to see Milay standing over him. She had a smile on her face, and her eyes looked a little watery. "Good to have you back." Most of his tears spent, Tinker smiled. "It's good to be back." He looked around. "Where...how...?" "We'll explain on the way," Falr said. "For now, we need to get you and the tributes out of here." @Edema Rue @J. Magi @Spark of Hope
  20. It's The Longest Thread. It's a story that's been going for over 2500 pages. Sometimes it has plot and it's like a roleplay, other times it's just random chaos. Everyone is forgetting about it and I'm sad about it...

"That's a little rude," Bookwyrm said. "I was trying my best..."
