  1. ∞ It does work! You can copy and paste special symbols from google docs onto the Shard. ‽
  2. "For wh- oh." Bookwyrm smiled back. "It's fine."
  3. ...I thought the rivalry was between cats and dogs, not cats and bunnies.
  4. We're fine, Bookwyrm assured Calano. We're in a settlement in another universe. Do you want us to return to the Clinic so we can plan our next move? Or do you want us to investigate? Bookwyrm kept walking through the building, and at the direction of a few people, found himself at Insa's room. He knocked on the door. @InfiniteInsanity
  5. Bookwyrm sat up and looked around. He was in a small, comfortable room, still wearing his travelling clothes. When he left the room and opened the door, a man was there waiting for him, dressed in the outfit of a healer. The healer explained the situation to him. Bookwyrm thanked him and went to find Insa. As he walked, he received a message from Calano. He traced the source of the message to the Clinic, which was beyond the influence of the Kaos. Calano had moved. I'm here, Bookwyrm said. A tendril of Kaos just attacked the dimension you were in. It blocked my communication with you. Are you okay?
  6. Sivilia's companion left for some purpose or another. Sivilia led Insa to one of the rooms on the right wing of the manor-inn. It was of moderate size, not very fancy, but by no means shabby. The wooden walls seemed lived in and welcoming, and a large window on the outer wall let in a generous amount of light and a nice view. The bed looked comfortable, and there was a desk, a vanity, and a door that must have led to a side room. "You can stay here while your friend heals," Sivilia said. "And don't worry. Even without the help of our healers, he's surprisingly resilient. Most likely because of his magic." Sivilia put a comforting hand on Insa's shoulders. "He'll be fine. And I'm sure he'll forgive you." *** Bookwyrm floated in darkness. Something had happened...with Insa....she was still learning to use her powers. It was fine, but they'd have to work on it. Bookwyrm became aware what was around him. He could faintly sense his physical self, resting in an unfamiliar place. But that wasn't his focus at the time. In his mindscape, Bookwyrm saw the space between universes, and the many dimensions that made up the Clinic's universe. The one he was in currently was one of the largest, as was the universe where he detected Calano and Emma's consciousness. Something drew Bookwyrm's attention. Coming from the Prison dimension, a small tendril of Kaos wormed it's way through the interdimensional medium. It was heading towards Calano and Emma. I have to warn them. But as Bookwyrm tried to send a message, something blocked it. It wasn't letting a mental communication to get through. They're in trouble... Bookwyrm forced himself awake. @CalanoCorvus @The Wandering Wizard
  7. "Every stick is a sword waiting to happen." - @The Wandering Wizard Such wise, wise words.... Also: "The @InfiniteInsanity is spreading. It cannot be held within." - @That1Cellist
  8. I have a dagger. And my dad has a sword, but it's kind of boring. My cousins who live in another state have a lot of swords. And if we count imaginary swords, I also have a lot.
  9. Chapter 1. In the future drafts and editing, I'll see if I can get into Yril's mind a little more...
  10. I'm skipping the little write up thing I've done in the past for now: I'll add it later. Having explored their new home, Astrym begins to build a capital city as a center for their government and a place to keep their airships. They hope to complete it before tensions with any other countries arise.
  11. Gourd jumped and followed Asela timidly. "I-if it's not t-too much trouble...could I...I mean, um...where are we going?"
  12. Asela gritted her teeth. "You know why I did what I did, Nyx." She calmed herself. "And besides that, I saved your life," she continued. "I think that's enough to warrant a favor."
  13. *Gets LANCERYN* *Inserts a Bookwyrm who desperately wants a larking/lanceryn companion*
  14. I actually think they might have a mass. To my understanding, Investiture is akin to matter and energy in the Cosmere; the same principle that applies to E=mc^2 also applies to Investiture. This could be wrong, but that's what I've heard. (This is me coming back after writing a little more: I think this way of thinking is somewhat flawed, but it has seeds of the truth.) We know that Investiture, in it's own way, changes states of matter. We see it as a "gas" in the form of Breath, the Lights, and Mist (though the Mist might be an invested weather pattern, like the Highstorms, rather than pure investiture). We see it as a liquid in the perpendicularities, and as a solid in God Metals. It just changes on other factors besides temperature. God Metals obviously have mass. They're made of metal. (I'm not sure where this stands on the Matter=Energy=Investiture thing.) So, if we know that God Metals have mass, why wouldn't gaseous investiture have mass as well? Now, the Lights don't exactly act fully like a gas. In a way, they act like...well, light. But more tangible, fluid light than what we experience in our day to day lives. If they are more like light than a gas, then I think it's fair to assume that it doesn't have a mass. But if you buy into the states of matter thing, then I think it's fair to assume that the Lights have mass. As no one in the books notes that infused spheres seem to weigh more than dun ones, the mass of the Light would be so small as to be undetectable. This could mean that gaseous investiture is just a lot less dense, or something else we don't get yet. Even so, I think it's a valid theory. As for the differences in mass between the different lights, I'm not sure...I suppose it's possible, but we don't know enough about how Shardic Investitures differ from one another in order to come to that conclusion. Edit: Ninja'd by offer.
  15. "But come on Grandma! I know that the universe isn't destroyed, because we still exist!" little Talar compained. "If I know that, why not tell me the rest?"
  16. Sivilia cocked her head in thought. "I mean...yeah, I probably could," she said. "But honesty, your friend-" she gestured towards Bookwyrm- "would probably do a better job teaching you."
  17. And so, the universes dwindled until there was almost nothing.
  18. Granted, the Chocolate to Peanut butter ratio in all of them is skewed towards the peanut butter by a very large margin. I wish for candy without having to go door to door asking for it.
  19. Kalra nodded. "I meant why. And..." she gestured to the unconscious Gak. "Would he work?" The remaining travellers, led by the one in the green Mistcloak, led Insa towards the village. They entered through the front gate and into a town that was more civilized than what one might expect. There were houses made of stone along with those of wood and sod, and in the center, there was a large mansion-like building. The town was lively, filled with people working and children playing, and most of them seemed quite happy to see their friends and family return. They also seemed to be respectful towards Insa, giving her nods and smiles and friendly little waves. Most of them were concerned about the unconscious Bookwyrm in one of the warrior's arms. The travellers took Insa and the unconscious Bookwyrm to the large central building. On the inside, it seemed to be both some kind of government facility and an inn, with rooms for staying in on either side. The male warriors, which consisted of the Mistborn, the large one carrying Bookwyrm, and another fighter, turned to the left. "He'll be fine," one of the women said to Insa. She wore a green tunic and a brown cloak, and held an ornately carved wooden staff. The other woman wore leather armor over her tunic and a deep green cloak, and had a short sword strapped to her waist. "Come with me," the woman with a staff said. She had light brown skin and wavy brown hair, and eyes that were a startling silver color. "My name is Sivilia. We'll get you settled."
  20. The woman stood in silence for a moment. She turned to her party. "Take these two-" she gestured to Insa and Bookwyrm- "to the village. I'm staying here to help this one." She pointed to Rabbit. "My name is Kalra," she said to Rabbit. "Let's figure out what's going on with you, shall we?"
  21. So many....so many times.... TPBM was reading the latest sample chapter for The Lost Metal and audibly gasped at one part.
  22. The leader raises an eyebrow. Her dark brown skin shines with a sheen of sweat in the sun from the battle with the Gak. "Is there a reason?" she asks. "Do you need help? Or would you rather we just leave you to yourself?"
