  1. Yeah that's my thought or that Autonomy copied the magic system for whatever reason. I'm also wondering if that lichen or whatever is related to the mold in Elantris that seems to interact with Investiture in some way.
  2. I assume if a sandmaster has access to unkeyed Dor or something they might also not be beholden to water consumption. Although I think the 'Ambient Investiture Field' allows the creation to exist beyond contact of the user, not that it bypasses the water requirement but maybe it's both. I also feel that an Aetherbound would win. It seems more versatile both in use and access
  3. I noticed some similarity between the two magic systems. Users of the powers risk dehydration and both are reliant on a microorganism that seemingly metabolizes Investiture. I wonder if this is just a coincident or if there is a closer connection between the two. I've also had pointed out to me that the clothing that TwinSouls wears is rather similar to what the Diem wear but I attribute that more to the cultures they are based on having a general similar aesthetic rather than something in universe.
  4. I think Sazed is still trustworthy; I just think he's in denial that his Shard's intent was never actually Harmony.
  5. Maybe try cremposting?
  6. I loved when Steris said "It's sterrin' time" and then sterred all over the bad guys.
  7. While I also had this theory there is a WoB that seems to disprove it: Solfor (paraphrased) So the Iriali, their religion, the whole the One breaking themselves into the many to experience the universe. You also have Autonomy breaking themselves into many avatars. So I was wondering is Autonomy connected to the Iriali in any meaningful way. Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) So are the Iriali connected to Autonomy in a meaningful way? I'd say no. I mean they're slightly connected, but in a meaningful way, no, they're not connected. Autonomy did not start the Iriali religion. DragonCon 2019 (Sept. 2, 2019)
  8. We see that at least with MeLaan and SotD already.
  9. The eunuch being impotent? Say it ain't so.
  10. but then does Raysium become Taravangianium? what about shards with two names?
  11. There's also the theory that the hero of the Terris prophecies aren't Scadrial specific with Dalinar, Vasher, and possibly even Raoden also fitting some of the criteria pretty well. Gotta also remember the parts of the prophecy we've seen aren't the original version.
  12. I basically agree with everything posted here. An additional thing I expected that didn't happen was new Atium lore. Given the recent WoBs that Era1 "atium" wasn't actually pure and that it might have different powers including allowing anyone to burn it, I expected the "Lost Metal" to be pure Atium and we were going to get its new powers instead the lost metal is just Lerasium and it doesn't even play that big a role except at the very end.
  13. No one has pulled out Roshar's big guns yet: two windrunners (or skybreakers) with a large spool of shardwire pulled taut between them moving as fast as possible.
  14. What have the Romans ever done for us? The aqueduct. What? ...they, they gave us the aqueduct... Yes, they did give us that, that's true. And sanitation Yes, that too. The aqueduct I'll grant is one thing the Romans may have done. And the roads, now they're all new. And the great wines too. Well, apart from the wines and fermentation And the canals for navigation. Public health for all the nation. Apart from those, which are a plus, what have the Romans ever done for us? The baths. What? ...the public baths... Oh, yes, yes... The public baths are a great delight, and it's safe to walk in the streets at night. Cheese and medicine, irrigation, Roman law and education, the circus for our delectation and the gladiation. Well, apart from medicine, irrigation, health, roads, cheese and education, baths and the Circus Maximus, what have the Romans ever done for us? Brought peace. Oh, shut up!
  15. They say necessity is the mother of invention. But maybe just read Guns, Germs, and Steel although that focuses more on what causes civilization to form and succeed rather than what pressures specifically cause it to progress later on.
  16. Maybe but I feel Brandon's wording between any and all is intentional.
  17. Atium has any in Hemalurgy, which again is different from all.
  18. I wouldn't say Atium is the best hemalurgic metal; I think all abilities is better than any one specific power. And again the case is that Lerasium has an aspect of "all" in two of the Metallic Arts so an aspect of "all" in Feruchemy is a reasonable assumption.
  19. Could be that Harmonium can act as any one metalmind at a time while Lerasium can act as all at the same time.
  20. Fair enough but so? Lerasium still has an element of "all" in both Allomancy and Hemalurgy; it follows that it would also have an element of "all" of something in Feruchemy.
  21. I had the same thought about the Iriali and Autonomy specifically in regards to the One religion as well but someone pointed me to this WoB: Solfor (paraphrased) So the Iriali, their religion, the whole the One breaking themselves into the many to experience the universe. 2, 2019)
  22. None of this contradicts the table or what I said, so like I said check it again. The table is from the leatherbound HoA, much more recent than your WOB. Atium can act like any one spike. Lerasium can act like all the spikes at once. ANY is different from ALL.
  23. Check the Hemalurgic table again. Atium steals any one specific ability; Lerasium steals all abilities.
  24. It allomantically grants use of all the metals, not much of a stretch to think that it's metal could be feruchemically used for all the traits. And Feruchemy is of Preservation, at least in part.
