Let's write a story with the power of friendship!

Her paranoia could not be normal, Lylac thought. She had always been cautious, but she had never before forgotten her friend's face. -

Let's write a story with the power of friendship!

However, everywhere she looked was a painful reminder of the state of her nation. -
So I had the idea to work together and write a story, one sentence at a time. The only 2 objectives are to write a story, and try to keep it cohesive and as reasonable as possible. The genre is a utopian-ish fantasy, but it'll be very soft (meaning there are very few rules, think Studio Ghibli vibes). You can add magic if you want but keep it vague and Gandalf-y and avoid deus-ex-machina-y things. Try to keep to 1 or 2 sentences per post, but feel free to write more if they're reasonably short (or you are introducing something new). Also, try to use other characters/plotlines before starting your own. Here we go I guess! ~~~ Lylac lay facing the sky in a soft patch of grass, her bright purple eyes following a cloudship piercing the sky. Her focus shifted as a flock of starlings swooped overhead, rolling in the sky.

Mraize: *Menacingly plots while sitting menacingly in a chair* Kaladin: Needs therapy but the best therapist he could find was a blue glowing sentient piece of magic Teft: addicted to burning his fingers Moash: We don't talk about Moash Nazh: I don't wanna go to the bottom of the ocean to find a very soggy map just because Khriss wants it... Fine but you owe me. Hoid: My stories are meaningless. They mean nothing. Stop- stop trying to find meaning they don't mean anything! All the Heralds: We've been living for like a long time. We're like, insane. Lift: I like food

I would assume not, however the ability to burn the metals within you away is probably going to help with the specific metal you are using. If you forget to burn them away, or take too long to, that's probably going to be an issue. Seeing all of these different perspectives does make me feel that allomancy might have too many IRL drawbacks than feruchemy. I think @Tamriel Wolfsbaine is on the right track. Feruchemical iron is just the best.

I did, multiple times and it introduced me to the fantasy genre and subsequently the internet community of nerds, for which I am eternally grateful. (despite the fact that my now-higher standards mean my rating of it has gone down to a mediocre.)

fan art So,if anybody has any SA fanart ideas...
Odiumiumium replied to Lament on the Wind's topic in Stormlight Archive
Maybe something with Dalinar, because I feel like he has some epic moments that no one really depicts enough (one quick google search tells me there's plenty of Dalinar portrait art, but not much Dalinar epic art). Also, not enough Mraize sitting and being condescending or enough Gavilar doing some conquering/being a bad person. -
I am cautiously optimistic about a film/show adaptation. I, personally, trust that Brando Sando is clever and powerful enough to make sure his stories stay to his vision. About the books being left gathering dust, I don't think the people that would watch the film would read the book first anyways, and it might pull more people to read the books first, or afterwards. Either way, I see this as an absolute win, especially since Brando Sando will take a strong hand on the adaptations.

It seems that F-Steel would be a better fit, if storing speed does what I think it does. This means you can also be super fast sometimes, but does also mean you can't take others with you, so you might be a good person and use A-Cadmium instead.
-
I think you might want to take Pewterarm instead, it helps you heal faster, allows you to muscle past things that most humans couldn't survive. It also means you don't have to spend time being sick and weak. It won't prevent blindness or cure being crippled, but it is probably better than Bloodmaker, if health is you goal.

I was assuming more of in the real world. And that is a good point about feruchemical zinc. Just turn off your brain for a few hours and the do your homework.

I don't know if a similar question has been posted, but I wanted to know what people would want to have if they could have one of the Metallic Arts (Meaning ferring or misting. No twinborn, full feruchemists, or mistborn here! Or hemalurgic constructs.) Personally, I would probably go with either Slider (allomantic bendalloy) or Steelrunner (feruchemical steel) because they can manipulate time, which is pretty cool. Both have disadvantages and advantages, so I can't really decide. What would you pick if you could?

Dalinar's Soul (With New Factor of Mr. T) [Discuss]
Odiumiumium replied to S. Stormy's topic in Stormlight Archive
And Hoid, Frost, and probably a bunch of current Worldhoppers. While maybe not all of them, a good amount seem clever and powerful enough to survive. And Nightblood, seeing as he is indestructible as far as we know. -

Well, Taravangian is still bound by the oaths the former Vessel made. Whether this counts as an "oath", that's up to interpretation. However, he did agree to a contest of champions, and Taravangian must follow through. Whatever Rayse wanted, he probably wanted to continue Splintering Shards. -

Didn't Kelsier try to beat up Hoid during his time sitting in the Hot Tub* of Ascension but then got completely destroyed? And now they both kinda hate each other? And Hoid did some stuff to mess with Kelsier during Mistborn Era 2? *Well -
I don't think Nightblood cares what source of Investiture he draws from. He will destroy what he perceives as evil, but draws upon any kind of Investiture. The user has no bearing on what Nightblood thinks is evil, as his Command was Destroy Evil, and he took that command and did his best to figure out what "evil" is and will destroy anything he thinks is "evil" (his definition of evil is a little strange).

So, I just thought of this idea, but would it be possible for a Vessel to hit an "eject" lever and avoid being completely destroyed by another Shard? We know that it's possible for a Shard to Splinter themselves, Honor did this to create the Honorblades, and possibly the spren. My question is: Would it be possible for a Vessel to Splinter their own Shard, and create a Cognitive Shadow of their own consciousness? Could Tanavast have been able to do this? He knew Rayse wanted to Splinter him, he didn't suffer from any debilitating mental issues like Leras, and had a large portion of his power available to him. While this would be a rather cowardly way to go, it would prevent them from losing their consciousness and going to the Beyond, which presumably happened to Tanavast, Leras, Ati, Aona (Devotion), Skai (Dominion), and Uli Da (Ambition).

I just got someone extremely hyped about reading Way of Kings
Odiumiumium replied to S. Stormy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Thus the guesstimating. And it's only a rough estimate, and saying 2 million is far more attractive than saying 1,983,329. -

Well, there have been ~1 million copies of WoK sold, and a generous guesstimation is that about a million more have read it from ebook/library/library ebook. -

Mraize bonding with a corrupted spren
Odiumiumium replied to Little_Dagger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
As far as I know of the metallic arts, atium and its potential alloys are probably the only useful Fortune-tapping power. However, atium is not included in the table for mistings, as far as I understand. It is necessary to be a Mistborn to use atium. This could be why Mraize would like to be able to see the future, whatever way he can. (Era 1 and Era 2 spoiler) (Era 1 spoiler)- 17 replies

Yeah Kelsier is definitely a psychopath(that word is so hard to spell), even in Era 2. He did do some good stuff then (some decent spoilers) , but only behind the scenes, and not much else. And, yeah he started an interplanetary investiture-smuggling cartel or something.
