All in the favor for TSRoST being the worst book acronym in existence, displacing the previous contender, TFioS?

Keepin' it PG13, safehand all covered up, properly -
I almost have to wonder whether the books are about Kvothe's personal life much more so than they are about his adventures, exploits, and power. Some of the best scenes in both books were between Kvothe, old(er) or young(er), and other characters he knows well, especially Denna. In that sense his pursuit of the Chandrian is really more of a side quest - though, if that's the case, then we run into the problem of Pat breaking promises he's made to the readers... But I think I am okay with this, either way. I've found it counterproductive to try to shoehorn the story into any of the models I am used to. Kingkiller is, to me, about a beautiful game story.

Thunderclasts seem like the least likely option to me. I am fairly confident TCs are a product of Voidbinding, and all the evidence points to Eshonai and her stormforms being the first creatures in a long time to Voidbind. Also, which passage from the text suggests the "stormstriders" are trailing stormspren?

Oh yeah, Kaladin is spot on. He looks angry - which may or may not be the intent, but I think that's the idea. I am mildly concerned he doesn't look his age, but that's not something I am going to allow myself be bothered by. Syl... I don't understand what my issue with her is. After some good 10 minutes of pondering and Googling (at work, because that's the most productive time!) I've come up with two possible causes: Most of the times we see Syl, she is in motion, zipping around (or at least that's how I imagine her moving) - so seeing her relatively stationary, apparently moving slowly, feels odd to me. I wanted to say I think of her as Tinkerbell, but Tink doesn't move like I imagine Syl would. Once again, frustratingly, I can't remember where the reference in my head comes from... When I think of Syl, I think of something pixieish, flimsy. The one on the painting looks... solid. I don't know, I can't put it in words. She is a little off. Maybe it's because imaginary characters all look different in our heads, and Syl is the next best thing to an imaginary's character imaginary character...

It does start off a little harsh, I guess. I guess now that I think about it, Sarah is probably the least likeable clone. Which, for some reason, strikes me as really weird.

It's amazing how unclear the passage can be...

Times Argent has been correct about stuff: ??? Times Peter has personally quoted Argent's replies and called them (most likely) wrong: 4 (I think? 5? Maybe more?) Being paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you... But you are on, Peterman. When I proven right in... Book 6 or something... I don't know. We'll see then.

The relevant passage: Enormous & inhuman could easily be a chasmfiend - the "leg after leg" fits too. The glow could have something to do with the pupation process. The second form... your guess is as good as mine. I am going to randomly guess we are seeing two chasmfiends in different stages of pupation here, but I am going with a gut feeling here. On the topic of names, if you don't buy the chasmfiend explanation, I think I can live with "stormstriders."

I don't think Lift can touch any other spren.

I am looking at her, and I am not see a single actress! I can maybe see Helena (when she laughs) and Sarah (which is totally amazeballs, because they are supposed to be the most related) being the same person, but Alison, Cosima, and Rachel are all distinct in my head.

Maybe it's not possible. And even if it were, you have to remember that derailing the cycle, breaking the Wheel, that's all the Dark One's goal. Ultimately it might have served him better if one of the Dragons were to wreck havoc on the Pattern. EDIT: In my experience trying to analyze and process Jordan's work in ways similar to how we process Brandon's doesn't work. The Wheel of Time lacks the depth of complexity we are used to from Brandon's novels, even if it has the breadth.

Gods, yes! Her acting is so incredibly amazing, I have to repeatedly remind myself that all of the clones are, in fact, played by a single person. Every episode I am stunned by how individual and unique Tatiana makes them all feel.

Three White Sand Comics from Dynamite, First in 2015
Argent replied to Argent's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I liked what they did with The Eye of the World, but I am not big on comics so I don't have anything to compare it with. -
"The most beautiful prose," while a true description, doesn't even come close to conveying how amazing Rothfuss' writing can be. I must've read his books at least 4 times each, and every time I reread them, I find something new I hadn't noticed before, some new clever way he wordsmiths his way to beauty. I am pretty good at words, but it would take a person far more skilled than me to give a proper tribute to Pat's genius with the language.

Why are we not considering the very real possibility that those "stormgiants" (I don't like the term, by the way, it kind of implies that we are dealing with something unseen and unhinted at before) are chasmfiend(s)? We either know, or can safely assume, that they go out in the storms, and they are also pretty massive.

I don't actually remember, so I'll skip this one. It has something to do with the connection they share - a connection that, to the best of my knowledge, was created back when their balefires touched. Probably because he wanted some peace for himself. And because he felt the world didn't need him anymore, his work was done. Likely because of the new body. Nobody knows. Even Brandon doesn't. I think the dominant belief is that Rand can now weave the Pattern in a way similar to how Channelers can weave the One / True Power.

I thought the book was rather clear on this - Lift uses Wyndle himself to climb. She, for one reason or another, can either pull him more into the physical realm (because people can occasionally see the "dust" Wyndle's vines turn into), or can reach into the cognitive herself and grab a hold of him there.

The one redeeming, in a way, quality of the trollocs is that they are made that way. As in, artificially. By accident on top of that - Aginor, the Forsaken mad genius who designed and created pretty much all of the Shadowspawn, was responsible for the trollocs as well, but they didn't quite work out the way he had planned them (I imagine he wasn't shooting for cannon fodder, but for a race made up entirely of supersoldiers). Oh, also, when Robert Jordan was planning and writing those books, Tolkien's orcs were still pretty new and fashionable concept in fantasy - neither the readers nor the writers had grown tired of reading/writing about entire races that are mindlessly evil and exist (in great numbers) only to be a threat to the entire world. In Jordan's defense though, he kind of gives a reason for all those creatures to be unquestioningly evil - Aginor made them so. The Wheel of Time Wiki has a solid article on the various types of Shadowspawn. I wouldn't read anything other than the section on trollocs and myrddraal / halfmen, however - those two are the only sections free of spoilers.

This is very much how I feel as well. "The Cosmere," as a topic, spans the entirety of Brandon's (Cosmere-related) works, and so when we talk about it, everything goes.

I personally dig the 90s sitcom image on the blog post.
-
Eh, not necessarily. Reviews are inherently internal things - people write them not to get comments and feedback on them, but to share their thoughts with the world.

I seem to recall 10 years being thrown around.

He didn't. I just kept seeing that one quite in different places.

Oh, he actually addressed him as "Lord Tyrant?" It's been ages since I read Mistborn, I must've misremembered the quote.
