  1. I thought about doing that and forgot... Next time.
  2. He explicitly confirmed that he is referring to Ruin and Preservation. So we don't "freak out," as he put it. Because I was freaking out.
  3. More like Assistant Adam. I hear he handles those things now. Peter told me they are swarmed with work these days, however, so it might not even be personal.
  4. It's so weird to me to be reading a transcript of an event I was at the entire time... First, Vin is even more special than we knew? Goodness gracious, Brandon, are we going to keep on finding things about your books decades after they are released? This answer also adds a lot of weight to the argument that Wax is drawing on the mists, I think.
  5. It's the same as batteries. A battery can be full of charge, at which point it can take no more, or it can be merely charged, which puts it anywhere between 0% and 100% power.
  6. 60+ if I remember correctly.
  7. I think we don't know enough about the internal organization of the Orders/Surges chart to decide what "opposite" means in its context. In Allomancy, for example, you can define metals as opposites in a few different ways (external vs. internal or pushing vs. pulling for example) and not all of those structures produce geometrically polar opposites. In fact, metals that are diametrically opposite are more similar than metals sitting next to each other. So there could be something similar going on with the Surges and Orders. I would've liked it better if Lightweavers and Edgedancers had switched places, so Windrunners and Edgedancers can be diametrically opposite. But the way we have them now, Windrunners "oppose" Lightweavers, which also makes sense, since honorspren and cryptics are not exactly BFFs. So. We don't know.
  8. Pretty sure that's a joke there with the food. "Haha, this cup of coffee costs $25, what did you put in it, gold?" kind of stuff. The baskets... Yeah, they could come from Vin's room. When Vin gives OreSeur the wolfhound body, he (TenSoon, actually, but that's not important) puts the human bones he was wearing beforehand in a basket (the other set of bones go in a closet). Un unfortunate maid finds them. For reference (coming from The Well of Ascension): The bones Wax sees could maybe hint that this is indeed what we are seeing. But, interestingly, this is the only basket mentioned in the books. I am going to go off on a limb, however, and say this is not a critical plot point.
  9. I actually couldn't get the interbreeding question in. So, a mystery for now. Exciting stuff though, good questions. I think it's time we sunk our teeth in the Dor pretty hard.
  10. Let me answer a few of those. We don't know anything about the atium - not how long it takes for it to start coming back, nor where it will come back. You can probably spike someone if they've been dead for a very short time - if Nale can heal from the brink of death, I imagine other forms of Investiture will also work You can use Hemalurgy on people without killing them, but it's difficult and dangerous. It's the whole thing about having your soul ripped apart. I don't know why you think atium is in the food, but I am pretty sure that's not the case The mists don't come as often because Harmony made them not to. There is no need. I don't know why so many people are confused about the Remarked Duplicity. It's blatantly obvious to me that it refers to the time when TenSoon was impersonating OreSeur, a series of events which ended with TenSoon effectively turning on his master. Which room with two baskets? There is really only one magic system on Sel, it just has different flavors in the differen countries / areas / cultures. Atium Compounding is really really powerful. Spend a day being twice your age, and you get 10 days being half your age. Which 10 days you don't actually utilize, you stick them right back in the atiummind, getting 100 days back. We don't know the rate at which atiumminds fill and burn, but I imagine you are virtual immortal the moment you start Compounding atium.
  11. Not obviously important. Brandon, much like Jordan before him, believes in randomly RAFOing some questions just for the sake of confusing our radar. I find this interesting:
  12. Or, you know, Marasi can fly solo. I don't really see her with any of the characters right now.
  13. Yeah, that's my problem with it. All we know is that Bleeder had a trellium spike with Allomantic steel charge. Here are some variables that can skew our assumptions: Maybe trellium doesn't steal an ability, maybe it generates it We've only seen Bleeder use steel, so maybe...... trellium can store multiple Hemalurgic charges in a single spike, keeping them - dare I say it?! - autonomous of each other, but only allowing one to be active. There could be a limitation that it can only store multiple charges of the same metal ... the spike we get from Bleeder is not trellium, but an alloy of trellium and steel, which allows the spike to steal either Allomantic or Feruchemical steel I personally am rooting for trellium being able to hold multiple charges.
  14. Wax and Marasi was too well set up to work. Too good of a match.
  15. Decay is kind of in Ruin's domain though. Ruin is also Change.
  16. Getting a new Shard's (or Shardholder's) name is a distinct achievement here. After all, there are only so many of them left, and I am sure some of them we'll see in books for the first time.
  17. Oh, Damnation. There was another necrosil question before my (Personalization 1) recording started. It went something like this (but take this with a grain of salt): Q: People on Scadrial have Investiture of both Ruin and Preservation. Does filling a necrosilmind involve storing some of that Innate Investiture, kind of as a way of storing your connection to the Shards? Shardworld? A: [Verbatim] You are on the right track. I am immensely sorry I don't remember it exactly, I was going to (I spoke with the guy who asked it, so that's what I am going off here). I think he is a Sharder though, so maybe he'll delurk and save me a little.
  18. If I remember the signing correctly, Bands of Mourning should come after Oathbringer. So 2017 seems likely.
  19. Argent

    Atium

    More or less this.
  20. The one thing that comes to mind is that He is grooming her for some kind of top end law enforcement position. A protector of some sorts.
  21. We are fairly confident they are pretty contemporary. Not necessarily being written during exactly in the same timeframe as the events in the books, but pretty close (within a few years, I'd say).
  22. Back in my day I had him all for myself...
