    Hmm, it looks like I had somehow completely forgotten the last bit of that quote - which is why I was so confused why everyone was going on about the Dysians. I apologize for that. In this light, yeah, it's a reasonable theory. I don't know where I stand on it, but it's reasonable.

    It seems like an awfully large assumptions to assume Hoid was talking about the Aimians there... It sounds way past the realm of headcanon to me.

    Daredevil didn't do that, but it was a show by different creators. Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash all do the narration intro.

    I thought about something like this and decided that it would be too obvious for Brandon. He is far more subtle than "a question mark next to his birth date". Could he pull a double whammy a la "I'll foreshadow it so obviously, nobody will think it foreshadowing"? Sure, but I don't think that's his style.

    For what it's worth, Peter (unless I've misread his reply) also assumes the archer is Teleb, Dalinar's Oldblood bodyguard.

    For some reason most, if not all, superhero shows now have that opening narration, and it's driving me nuts.

    We could still get the Allomancer SWAT if the field work our protagonist is getting recruited for is along those lines.

    Oooh, this bit about the Dysian Aimians is sweet! Combined with the color of their blood (purple, I believe?), it sounds like they are, at least in physical appearance, crustacean-like. Or at least animal-like.

    I like it. It definitely looks like it's going to be a bit cheesy, a bit sitcom-y, but I find it entertaining enough to not pay much attention to those. Could be better? Sure, it could be much better. But I don't think it's bad.

    The comparison between Dalinar and Genghis was, I think, in how they would both recruit people for their skill, regardless of previous affiliations.

    I think that was a deliberate mockery of the sexual objectification of women. A small one, more of a nudge, to say "Guys, it's kind of ridiculous".

    Not really, at least not to my knowledge. Some of us here obsessively follow Brandon on all sorts of social media, and I personally check Dynamite Entertainment every few weeks, so there is a good chance there will be a thread here within a couple of days of news coming out.

    So ep. 1 is out. I saw it, and I think it was pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good and definitely enough to hook me. Favorite bit? Kara figuring her outfit out. I really wish they had shown more of that. Maybe in a deleted scene... Also, flying. I think they did a good job with the flying. Also, how excited Kara was when she saved the plane from crashing. Positively giddy!

    The trailer looks promising. I don't actually know anything about Jessica Jones, but it doesn't look like I need to. I just hope for some Easter eggs and/or tie-ins with the rest of Marvel's universe.

    I wouldn't put too much stock in release date goals right now.

    Is it all of them? I can think of a few, but I don't know about all, or even most. But if so, it could be an artifact of Western-centric thinking, I think. Not necessarily conscious. The West is largely ignorant of the East, so we kind of start associating the strange with it.

    Even better. But that's what I meant, it's all he's read. Also, because I forgot to scratch my pet peeve about "decimate". Most of the time it's used, it's used to mean "devastate" - destroying a tenth of the enemy's army is not that much of a loss.

    Uh, I paraphrased poorly. The way he said it, it was more like "imagine the CIA recruiting her to be a field agent". She is getting recruited to be the techie for a special mission or some such.

    I don't think if there is a need to change his mind. When I heard somebody at the Chicago signing talk with him about it, it really sounded like he would like to get those things done. Just not as regular plushies, he wants the whole two-sided plush thing.
