  1. I'm curious, why do people think that the existence of Dawnshards implies Shards are split into quartets? I'm not saying I disagree, but just because 4*4= 16 doesn't mean they need to be connected, not everything has to always fit into boxes, especially not fragments of god's personality.
  2. While some feel that having a book set so far in the future spoils the entire Stormlight Archive, I think it does the complete opposite; we know his (metaphorical) Death, Sigzil's weaknesses, and his destination. It's a book of endings, it's like how if you really wanted to, you can always just skip to the end of the book, but without the context of what happens between, the words you see have no meaning. Once we have read the full series, it will be fun to go back and see what Brandon's been alluding to this whole time. It's a book of backshadowing, so remember, Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination.
  3. I'm gonna disagree; Her magic can be used by anyone who knows what they're doing. Sure, she's very good at it; maybe she is a spirit-binding virtuoso, but that's just a skill, It's if someone was raised to play an instrument since birth, they're going to be way better than anyone else, and to outside views, they might appear special, but it's nothing the average person couldn't do with a lot of study. The KR have an outside force, essentially a magical symbiote, that grants them power; they are special because a spren was destined to bond to them. (I'm pretty sure Syl said somewhere that she was always with Kaladin, even when she wasn't, like how she remembers stuff Kal did as a kid?) The only thing that might throw a wrench in my ideas is that the spirits talked to her, but maybe they're just doing that because she is very good at her job. As for why Painter was chosen? Maybe because they were both unsatisfied, causing some cognitive resonance that led to a natural connection the spirits could take advantage of?
  4. I was talking about the heighting-like effects, as well as the super surgebinding.
  5. What are you asking? Is Dalinar a shard? No not yet. Will he be a Shard? Rafo, lots of foreshadowing for it tho. Is he a dawn shard? No, he doesn't exhibit Dawnshard-like traits, plus I feel the stormfather wouldn't want to bond with him if Dalinar were a Dawnshard.
  6. HIGH LOW, LOW HIGH,THROOW IT OUT THE WINDOW.
  7. Why? He's abrasive, but that shouldn't mean death.
  8. I could have sworn it said they were brothers somewhere, but I checked the Coppermind, and nothing! They don't even look alike! I have no idea where I got that from.
  9. I agree completely with how Nightblood's command shaped his abilities; it's a very logical conclusion from the information we have. It makes a ton of sense. Like above, I'm sure most of us have come to a similar conclusion where Ruin steals magic. I would only say that Ruinious investiture probably decays, so people, even when not using their power, would lose it over time, which would force them to kill to keep their power up. Ideally, this would also extend their lives, although when it runs out, they turn to dust. (Investure vampires!)
  10. Autonomy can be Tash. (The other satan) I mostly want Odium to be Jadis, so Moash can be Edmund.
  11. Odium is Jadis the White Witch?
  12. Does that mean adonalsium is his father?
  13. They are very subtle. Most wouldn't notice them.
  14. YOU ALL ARE NOW CANNON YOU HEAR THAT???
  15. Huh... This possess so many questions... But yea I doubt windrunners could (in reasonable situations) control time, maybe they could slow it down a bit, centerbeat style, but only for a moment.
  16. Oh dear God, that laugh is terrifying. That's what the new odium must sound like while he's scemeing.
  17. I think we had one before but chaos closed it because it became toxic (or maybe that was shallan hate?)
  18. Chat gpt?... why? What.
  19. She would not be able to walk. If she aged back to 15, she would be 15-year-old Rysn who is also paralyzed. If I remember correctly, Atium is purely physical and doesn't effect all three realms in any meaningful way.
  20. This part, Which responded to this, If they dont think cadmium uses gravity or the ilk, then the cadmium using little Investiture thing is completely irrelevant.
  21. I'm fairly certain that cadmium and bendalloy don't manipulate time via gravity. That feels very destructive. Technically every magic system can distort time with enough power
