    I’m guessing that future Taln will not get back up to full strength ever again, though perhaps we’ll see occasionally bursts like him catching the dart. Possibly book 10. Other thing to remember is that the scope of things and whats possible will likely be completely different. The grand scope of things drastically shifts every book so far, so by the time we get to SA 10 things are gonna be wild.

    I also wonder if collaboration will help with these kinds of things. With the greatly positive feedback the Skyward novellas got that he did with Janci, (Janci did most of the writing so it didn’t take up too much of Brandon’s time) I wonder if she or someone else might help him write smaller cosmere stuff. Not the big guns like mistborn or stormlight, but like a Warbreaker or Elantris sequel. Though also Brandon, as well as the fandom, might be touchy and wary of other people touching the Cosmere. (Honestly though at this point, the fandom would probably welcome Warbreaker 2 no matter what )

    I have been summoned by Taln discussion. My thoughts are thus: One: Taln was herald of War for a reason, was extremely tough and powerful, and could withstand a lot. He’s also extremely brave, we know he’d face crazy amounts of enemies by himself and hold his ground. Two: I agree that Taln has been changed by people’s perception of him as being unbreakable. Three: it’s also possible that after a certain point he became to insane to care about giving in or the pain, though it was still excruciating. I disagree that Taln is too perfect. He is an absolute unit and is crazy skilled and amazing, but though he didn’t break, he is broken. He’s completely insane.

    After the initial rush of finishing is over and I’ve had more time to think about it, I do think I like this book less. The lack of tension was a really big let down. The novellas storyline is way more interesting. I think it’s good as a book, but not up to par as far as Sandersons books go

    Well that was a wild ride. In general I loved it, I couldn’t put it down. I started reading in the early morning, skipped breakfast, and didn’t eat lunch till 2 pm when I finished. The big reveals were crazy, and Brandon finally fulfilled the most ancient Sunreach meme about how the taynix poop. I loved Chet as a character, and loved M-Bot’s advancements, such as him swearing. M-Bot saying “what the hell” was hilarious. Favorite scene was Interlude 2 where Spensa appears to Jorgen in the bathroom . I definitely didn’t like the M-Bot fakeout though, that was my least favorite part. Also Doomslug saying there are “tons” of types of slugs!! Ahhhhhh!!! The bit with them orbiting another planet, makes me even more hyped for Evershore, which I wouldn’t have thought possible!
