People are awful sometimes, but none of that is your fault. That's a completely valid response given all of that, so don't be hard on yourself. Sometimes a day just sucks, especially when lots of things add up. Even if you don't know what it is rn, you do have worth, even if you don't think you do. Oftentimes when we're in a horrible mental state and everything is out of control, we can't imagine things changing or becoming different. I can't promise that everything will be sunshine and rainbows, but I can promise that life is full of ups and downs. You're in a down right now, but things will get better eventually In the meantime be patient with yourself, don't hate yourself for feeling completely valid emotions. Take time to process everything and feel your feelings, and give yourself time. Remember past good days, and remember that there will be more of those to come

Definitely not weird. First of all, plenty of other folks deal with the same struggles you do, and second, plenty of other folks also feel like they're alone in their specific type of mental struggles/suffering. That's especially common for teens too. Also, unofficial rule of the thread as stated by me: No apologizing for feeling a certain way or having a certain emotion, since they're valid and a normal part of being a human Welcome to the club, glad to have you!

Forum Folks - Why Forums Over Discord?

Yeah this was just my own curiosity - the discord is way more popular, so I didn't ask there. (As Chaos summarized well) I imagine some, but probably not as high as you'd think, since a lot of people use the "same" or "this" emoji for a lot of that. There's still wayyyyy more discussion over on the discord. (Also just a higher number of active people) The forums have the advantage of being more accessible to people, since it's just a website rather than downloading a whole app, and are good for long posts, but ultimately I do think Discord is more suited for ease of discussion. But I get why people would like the forums more, and to each their own -
I'll be there! (assuming my grades are okay, since it's the weekend before final exams) I might cosplay as Wayne but I'm not sure yet. I think this is fine for a roll call of just who's coming, since it's somewhat different, but probably the pre existing DSNX 2025 thread would be best for general discussion/meetups.

As someone who uses both the 17th Shard discord and forums pretty regularly, I'd be interested to hear from people who primarily use the forums: Why do you spend more times on the forums rather than discord? What do you dislike about discord/like about the forums specifically? I have things I like more about both, so I'm curious

Aside from classes in Uni + studying in Japan + chatting with Japanese friends, my main method of learning has been using the Renshuu app. It's much better than Duolingo lol. By far. If either of ya'll get it, friend me on it xD I won't get further into it in this thread since it's slightly off-topic, but: if you wanna be more casual, you can just ask 元気？or 元気の？Adding the お is done in honorific speech, like to a boss or important official or the like. Using です is also more formal polite speech, but not as honorific as お。So generally with friends you can just drop the です, and add の instead of か, or just drop the の in spoken speech
