Could a feruchemist store an attribute into a blade / mace / gun made of the metal (assuming it is a good mix for the alloy)? For use against a coinshot or lurcher we know that metalminds with more investiture are harder to see/push/pull on. Are these weapons just far too large to be able to store enough investiture into to work like that? Likewise could you forge existing metalminds (even those belonging to someone else) to make bullets or casing or blades that would be much more difficult to manipulate? We see a lot of this idea that aluminum is immune to the allomancy and even a shardblade doesn't simply cut straight through it. But if you could get your hands on filled up metal minds to craft into weapons allow you the same benefits? It would only be cooler if you were able to store / compound into your own weapon. Iron rebar being swung around or a steel sword that is highly resistant to outside forces would be pretty lit. Same question can be applied to potential armor types as well.

It's sad because while I love the idea of turning every fight into full on VATS mode or bullet time if you prefer... I am also disgusted by how broken it is. Its basically peterparker vs flash scene. F-Steel A-Iron = spiderman???

With the storage of weight specifically it is said that if you cut back weight you speedup but if you ramp up weight you would slow down. (Many posts from the physics whizzes which is definately not me). So would the frictionless state ruin that change in speed that would come from shifting weight? I imagine that you would definately have to work on getting used to the balance issues. Thanks for the answers so far.

If one were to get access to the surge of abrasion and F-Iron how well could the filling and tapping of the metal minds effect the speed with which you could be skating around? With next to no friction to slow or hold you down would changing your mass be able to slow you or speed you up on its own? I know some funky mixing of worlds but just had the question pop into my mind as I was trying to figure out more about F-Iron.

How does this work exactly. Wouldn't the bendalloy just be wasted as you are moving? Is this choice based on the idea that being a bendalloy savant could potentially allow you to travel with the bubble? Is there a neat option for storing a ton of F steel through using a bubble? I like F steel but I almost feel like A pewter just offers so many F metals better gains through minimizing downsides of storage.

I was just thinking of a scenario where F steel would be used by fullborn to try and catch a radiant off guard. Assuming said radiant were a bondsmith and could cover the ground to "stick" their opponents to it... how fast do you recon a fullborn would have to be moving to rip themselves in half via the inertia? Its long be talked about how busted a steel compounder is and I found the thought of them being torn in half just by virtue of being so broken fast a funny one.

I have long wondered others thoughts of A pewter and F gold. I know you can't infinitely compound the benefits of gold this way but would storing health become way easier since pewter burning would make up for you feeling like hot garbage? Would gold tapping work to offset pewter if you became a savant? Or would you ended hitting savantism and then just be at a complete wash of burning through gold stores at the same rate as pewter gains to offset the side effects of being a savant? I also love the idea of A pewter and F tin. Having moments as daredevil on steroids would be wicked fun. But I am a lover not a fighter. I would take soothing and storing connection in a heartbeat.

This would also apply to any mental allomancy? Doesn't shard plate totally protect from a push and pull of emotions as well? And how does shardplate react to connection manipulation? If it protects from one should it also protect from the other? Is shardplate like wearing an aluminum lined hat? Would aluminum protect a wearer from an attack of connection? (From the bondsmith points made earlier in the discussion.) From all of this thread it just seems like its less surgebinding vs allomantic arts and simply shardplate and blades >>> all else. There certainly doesn't seem to be much rock paper scissors when shardplate is involved.

Thanks for these answers. So baseline strength /size / speed definately play a roll. I can only imagine any f steel or iron would likewise just compound those specific attributes and their specific synergy to an A pewter burn?
-
Does pewters strength base itself off of your starting point? If a pewter burn were to give you 200% of whatever your normal was then does it mean that any spikes or even a compounder would gain much more benefit from it? Or does it not work quite like that at all? Its been a while since I read through era 1 and can't remember if there were big differences noted between the likes of Vin and Ham and Kelsier even. If a person were to have an iron spike would that increase their gains from A pewter?
-
I know a normal mistborn even in Vin's time couldn't replicate this but the lord ruler was able to push on the metal in her stomach. Even wax says its not impossible it just gets harder the more invested something is. And that is generations down the road. Could a first generation mistborn made from larasium be able to do it? And if larasium were to be brought into play it also significantly increases the allomantic powers of a mistborn. I wonder how much (God metal so take it for what its worth) larasium it would take to super charge a mistborn to a point of being able to duralumin charge steel and iron to affect shardplate if at all. Not to mention pewter usage would bring it to or beyond that of shardplate. I definately see a lot of what ifs needing to be stacked in order to form the perfect mistborn for a fight like this. Where as the shardplate and shardblades definately sound pretty busted op.

So this is sort of besides the point as I just need some clarification. Does plate block it just due to the amount of investiture there? I know there are substances and pieces of investiture that basically nullify use of the systems like aluminum. In the alloy of law wax mentioned that if you just mixed aluminum with another metal it would still act like aluminum in as far as making it immune to pushes. (Hence all the aluminum guns and bullets). Is there an alloy using aluminum that could withstand a few strikes from a shardblade? And if there is an alloy that would nullify the edge of a shardblade wouldn't it be fair to say that same alloy could damage shardplate as if it weren't invested at all? Straight up I haven't even read way of kings yet. I just love the world building and am asking for clarification vs the rest of this thread. I am lame and can't help myself looking at spoilers and reading the wikis and forums for topics like this.

Sorry if this has been stated once or... a million times before. I just found this thread and am only on page 4. In regards to the projectiles argument... While a bendalloy bubble does change trajectory of a projectile I dont imagine it changes it so much that a mistborn couldn't open a bubble at a small distance (even if it was only an opening of a second from the radiants perspective) and then unload every projectile they have. Even if a few were to go far wide you would be able to see which ones were going to hit and then give those specific projectiles duralumin charged steel pushes. This would of course drop the bubble but those projectiles are still going to land and you will also be yeeting yourself to a distance where you could chug another vial anyways. Then if any of them do manage to get inside the plate (even if the plate were to repair itself) you now have a piece of metal or pieces of metal that can be manipulated from inside your opponents defense.
