  1. If I was in the cosmere I would want to be a nicrosil ferring and and the surge of transportation, this would hypothetically allow me to travel between realms in places other than roshar by storing the stormlight in nicrosil which would allow it to last for a lot longe time than in a gemstone. Maybe on my travels of the cosmere I would find other sources of investiture to store in in my nicrosil minds and be able to continue traveling.
  2. Late happy birthday.

  3. I would say with a lot of confidence that awakening a piece of cloth would offer a lot of resistance to it maybe not making it shardblade proof but pretty strong because when you awaken something you are reinforcing the idea that that piece of cloth is one object an not a collection of objects. I would say that by awakening anything you have to first view it as an object which makes it think that it is more of an object which turns into a reinforcing circle that just makes something all the more stronger. Something similar applies to spren in that they first have to view themselves as spren for them to truly be spren and this plays into the idea that everything in a cognitive way has to believe that it itself exists before anyone else does, but this thinking only really applies to cognitive realm.
  4. I suspect that there is a great significance about silver that is being built up as to its multiple references. I am going to make a guess and say that invested things are affected by silver because it breaks or tampers with bonds in the spiritual realm. Like the shades on Threnody being weakened/destroyed because the silver unmakes them in some way. I wouldn't be surprised if Hoid has a weakness to silver that we don't know about because he predates the shattering and the significance of silver probably predates the shattering and doesn't seem to be invested. If a weakness to silver stems back before the shattering maybe Adonalsium was harmed in some way by silver.
  5. I would say yay because they are sample chapters and supposedly aren't the final drafts yet and also for people who aren't as into the comere and Brandon in general it gives them a way to be more exited about the cosmere, it build, up the anticipation and helps support the fantastic writing that is the cosmere.
  6. I thought that Turning Red was an okay movie but it was what I expected from Pixar and fits in with all of their other movies by representing intriguing social interactions through animation.
  7. The purpose of this topic is to see what creative things people might come up with if they could manipulate investiture in the Cosmere. For example if you could use hemalugy, allomancy, awakening, surgbinging, etc. For example If were to create/do something with these abilities I would make a hemalurgic spike that is awakened and is a fabrail, the fabrail would be embedded in the spike. I think that if an awakened spike fabrail was an eye spike that maybe the spike could allow this person to see investiture connections to some degree. Not sure if a system like this would work but it was just something I thought about.
  8. "One goat to rule them all, one goat to find them, one goat to bring them all and in the darkness bind them." (lord of the rings)
  9. "Fool of a goat" (lord of the rings)
  10. The worldhopping group known as the seventeenth shard is for some reason against the mixing of shards and interfering in the events of other world. Today I had a thought as to why this might be, the seventeenth shard might not want people like Hoid to interfere in cosmere events because they know what is going to happen if nobody interferes. It may be possible for this particular group of worldhoppers to have manipulated investiture in such a way as to allow them to see the future or bits of it any way. This could mean that whenever they stop someone from interfering by interfering that they are setting up the cosmere for a particular future. For one we know that the seventeenth shard is trying to hunt down Hoid, but why? Well, to answer this we have to first look at what it seems that Hoid wants at the moment which is to stop odium and trap him on Roshar. So maybe the seventeenth shard wants odium do keep doing what he is doing him being a shard and destroying other shards. This in conclusion leads me to think that The seventeenth shard might want odium to destroy the other shards releasing large out puts of unclaimed investiture that could be used for a nefarious purpose. If I have made a large error in my thinking it would be appreciated to respond as such.
  11. To me the title of this topic doesn't and the description don't exactly match up if I am interpreting that the question is can you achieve immortality via hemalurgy I would say yes based on the given quote because the quote says that it would be far more efficient to change connection through hemalurgy and maybe convince the spiritweb of the person who wants to be immortal that it can't change. If the spiritweb is perpetually stuck the same then with a slightly delayed response that makes you cognitive self and physical self relatively unchanging. I think that this is what might have happened with Hoid because whenever he is hurt he always reverts to the same form. Now one might ask if Hoid's spiritweb is always the same then how does he gain access to new systems of investiture and I would say that even though the spiritweb it's self is convinced that it is unchanging you could still add bits and pieces and it would keep those changes because it is convinced that it woun't change it's self but if something else changes it then that is added to the state of unchanging.
  12. I don't hate oathbringer and I think that it makes a good contribution to the stormlight archive.
  13. I would like to know how you would maintain a sentient blob of human shaped meat and spikes, if it is truly sentient it might just maintain itself. Also might I say walking meat and spikes doesn't sound too friendly so what might it's purpose be.
  14. We look to Scadrial and see that both ruin and preservation have metals that embody them, Odium also has a metal that appears on Roshar. If Odium can have a metal while not on Scadrial then one could conclude that all of the shards have their own metals that either haven't yet or won't be revealed. My question then comes to could you create a metal for Adonalsium by mixing equal parts of all of the shards metals together and also what properties might Adonalsium's metal posses, I think that It might posses way to reshape the cosmere in some way as we know it.
