  2. You're right, of course, but by doing this, we open ourselves to heavy misinformation and manipulation. If we could guarantee that the Village has a tineye, I might be more amenable to your plan. With the free group PMs in this game (after a couple of cycles of Operation Windwhisper), forming trust circles is incredibly easy, which means that it's a lot easier to share information with only those you trust. If it was between sharing information and keeping it to yourself, I would pick sharing. But it's not; there are far better avenues for information distribution in this game. It's possible my perspective is skewed. The first time I played this game, I was a kandra, which meant I had something to hide, publicly, and the only safe way for me to communicate freely was by PM group. That's the origin of Team Twindra. If the rest of you agree that revealing our locations is a good idea, I'll comply -- but I think it's a mistake.
  3. I disagree emphatically. Such a plan could benefit only the Spiked. You pinpointed the issue when you mentioned that we don't get informed of who's in the room with us. That makes this a completely different situation than MR12. There is absolutely no incentive for the Spiked not to lie about their location. We aren't even guaranteed to have a tineye, and if we do, it'll be a long time before they're able to catch anyone in a lie. Remember also that unlike in MR12, you can be in as many as four different rooms in a single cycle. The three-period format makes this game very unique. It's almost like we get three nights between every day. I agree that we should spread out, but revealing our locations is a bad idea -- one that the Spiked suggested last time, I might add.
  4. It... doesn't, no. I googled it -- something about Skindancers? EDIT: I'll admit that I don't think Maill would be foolish enough to associate with a fellow skindancer in literally the second post of the game. With two or more kills a turn, though, this game is going to go fast. We need to start learning things, and the lynch is a way to do that. I vote for a C1 lynch. EDIT 2: I just reread the rules. I somehow missed that there's no Eliminator kill. Opinion rescinded. That really changes the game. I need to think about this.
  5. I agree. Giving a random player an extra two votes sounds a little dangerous to me. Also, any Villagers with a knife, please, please don't use it. It gains us nothing at this stage. There is no alignment reveal, and you are more likely to hit a teammate than an enemy. I'm having trouble imagining any situation in which the use of drugs helps the Village. Does anyone else have any ideas in that regard?
  6. Yeah, last time there were some crazy time-manipulation shenanigans the first night. Clanky is trying to avoid that. @Rae: Let's say you aren't in any PMs, and I'm a Windwhisper. I try to listen in on your PM and doc conversation. You aren't in any PMs, so unless you're in a doc, I can't hear anything from you. If I get no response back, you're a guaranteed Twinborn. If I get a response back, you're a Spiked, a kandra, or a liar. I wouldn't recommend that last.
  7. Well, yeah, point taken. But if I was Spiked, I'd tell any kandra who could confirm they were a kandra. EDIT: I'd like everyone to list every PM they have, and avoid forming any for a couple of cycles. I've just had an idea. I'm waiting on the GMs to confirm that this is how it works, but I think that if a Windwhisper were to spy on a player who hasn't formed any PMs yet, they could act as a confirmation engine. If they get a result, it must be from the Eliminator doc. Please, if you are not part of any PMs yet, announce yourself so that we can keep it that way. I unfortunately have already started a PM with Lopen, so I can't be scanned this way, and neither can he. Sorry about that.
  8. I'd advise against that for at least a cycle. Night 1, period 1 is the only time that the Spiked can be sure of everyone's position on the map, so it's the time that they are most free to kill whoever they want. Wait a cycle, then use PMs to limit the risk inherent in role-claiming. Now, to strategy. Sparkers are our most valuable resource. They alone have clear-cut confirmation powers. Any Sparkers among us should clear and contact a mouthpiece as soon as possible. Seekers can be nearly as useful; especially working in concert with a Tineye. You need to get yourselves connected, so that your seeking data can become public knowledge without risk to your identity. This is a game where teamwork and coordination is critical. The powers synergize incredibly well, so internally confirmed groups have a lot of power. Start making alliances as soon as you can. Any kandra willing to contact me will be told my alignment without any reservation. I am very much interested in forming a working relationship with you as soon as possible.
  9. It's my opinion that the kandra were the deciding factor in the last game, so yes, I intend to have them allied with whatever team I end up on. Their ability to straddle the line, gathering secrets from both sides, means that when they choose a side, they suddenly become a massive hole in the other team's operational security. This went both ways last game -- I leaked to the Twinborn, Araris to the Spiked -- but as I have always maintained, the Village generally has more to gain from a free flow of information than the Eliminators.
  10. So... Is Obliteration Jim Butcher or not? Because I have a hard time believing that Jim Butcher's reaction to super powers would be, "whelp, time to kill the world". Also, Obliteration's mannerisms and speech are totally unrelated to Butcher's. When reading Firefight, I was able to reconcile this, because I assumed that Obliteration was under the influence of the darkness, but as of Calamity, we know that he's had the darkness beaten for years. Is he just a guy who happens to look like Jim Butcher, own a sword, and have a strong Catholic background?
  11. I... would love that information, yes. PM coming your way. EDIT: OHH! That's why it was underground! So we would have survived the Catacendre with no one knowing it was happening! EDIT 2: Guys... I know the secret now. And it changes everything. I am dizzy. This is like, a Sixth Sense-level plot twist.
