  1. Hey Wyrm, I was just rereading QF7. Remember when you suggested that I would be unwilling to stick with the doctor motif? How do you feel about that now?
  2. I've used Won LenReen as a character since before you joined the site. Len doesn't have your name, you have his. Ugh. You and Doc both. You whippersnappers have no respect for your elders.
  3. All right, I am Dr. Konwa Arelle, the Abundance's foremost scholar on Biochroma and Awakening. Konwa is a young, bright-spirited researcher on her first mission in the field. She is known among her colleagues for her ravenous sense of curiosity, a quality that has made her a fantastic researcher. Here, though, it may end up getting her into trouble... Dr. Nowko Lestibournes, leader of the Abundance, liked to keep informed of important goings-on across the cosmere. So as he looked over the missive from one of the Abundance agents in Hallandren, he wasn't surprised by what he found there. He'd been waiting for this for quite some time. Nowko had had his eye on the infamous "House on the Hill" for a while now, ever since it had been brought to his attention a few years back. Mysterious danger? Investitures no one had ever seen? This was a case for the Abundance if ever there was one. And now, at last, his chance had come. "Len! I need you!" It seemed he had hardly finished his sentence, when the boy was already cracking the door to the study. He'd never admit it aloud, but Won LenReen was the most devoted assistant it had ever been his sincere pleasure to work with. "Yes, Dr. Lestibournes?" The lad stood nonchalantly, a rakish look on his face, but Nowko knew that face hid a fiendish intelligence and a fierce loyalty -- even if the boy himself liked to pretend otherwise. "Get in here and close the door. Are you familiar with the House on the Hill on Nalthis?" Len hesitated. "Refresh my memory." "Old mansion, first heard of it about three years ago. No one knows how old it is; as far as they can remember, it's always been there. Everyone and his brother has a ghost story about it, but no one knows the truth. Reports by field operatives suggest that the entire house may be a single, massive awakened object." "Oh, yes," Len grimaced. "That. What about it?" "It's being opened. They're sending a team in to investigate. I need an operative on that team. Who have you got who can do Awakening?" "Oh... Hm. I would suggest Dr. Occulta, but... Well..." "Yes. I know." Nowko tried not to think about the fact that he'd had the Survivor of bloody Hathsin working for him without his knowledge. "Who else is there?" "Well, there's Dr. Arelle." Len forwarded hesitantly. "You mean Konwa? Storms, boy, she's barely more than a child. I like her well enough, and she's a brilliant researcher, but do you really think her ready for this sort of mission?" Len shrugged. "She's been asking for the opportunity to do some fieldwork. She's young, inexperienced, and naïve, but... well, she's the best I can offer you, sir." Nowko frowned, thoughts turning over in his head. But try as he might, he couldn't find a way out of the situation. "Storm it! I need someone in that house, Len. Make the call." Len nodded gravely, then turned to leave. "Ena! I need you to deliver a message to Dr. Konwa Arelle." Nowko watched him narrate the message to his Seon as the two left his study. He sat there, hoping beyond hope that he hadn't just sent an innocent young girl to her death.
  4. Hm. I honestly didn't think I was suspicious until Lopen said that, but yeah, I can see it. let me see what I can do. First, as a show of good faith, I will reveal that Rae also told me about her role, and I have shared it with no one. Doc's response to my accusation legitimately swayed me. I felt much the same way he claimed to, outside my element with no rules to exploit. As you pointed out, much of what I said was based on analysis others had done. However, I felt it would look odd to start a lynch, then abandon it as it gained followers. As it turned out, I had been played; if others hadn't voted with me, I would absolutely have let him live. I've never been the best at withstanding manipulation -- see LG18, where I played the honorary skindancer. My initial vote on Jondesu was mostly gut-based, the same as my vote on Doc. And when I said I was less sure, I meant that my gut reaction was less powerful. I did promise to go back and do analysis, though, and after I did, I became far more certain of his guilt. Where before, and with Doc, all I had was vague impressions, here I had legitimate suspicious behavior to point to. Ripple was complete luck for me. Of the three, I was least suspicious of her. But she seemed to be the best option that cycle, so I went for it. I got lucky, where I didn't expect to. Sheep on the other hand I genuinely *was* suspicious of. I still have no idea what he thought he was doing, and still very much want to ask him when the game is over. I was wrong, but can you honestly blame me? How often do you see a poke vote go ignored by a player who is consistently checking in? I didn't vote for Sart because I wasn't actually suspicious of him. He was just my best guess, and I thought that, in the absence of real suspicions, it would be worthwhile to add that to the discussion. As for my recent drop in activity, I've been busy. It's that simple. I wasn't in Discord the last several days either. I'll do my best to make more time going forward. (I want to put that in blue text, but you're not supposed to use blue text to rebuff suspicions, right? I dunno.) I'm not sure what more I can do to convince you. I participated in three Elim lynches -- including one that I catalyzed myself. It cut against the flow to try and sway the vote off you and Ecth, and in all probability, if I had said nothing, Ecth would be dead now. Further, the Elims were so threatened by that vote that they risked and lost Jondesu in an attempt to prevent it. I can see what you're thinking -- all this is stuff an Elim would never do, so maybe it makes sense for an Elim to do it for the trust. To be honest, I'm not sure I would be brave enough to do that, but I can see how it might be effective. But isn't it also possible that I'm behaving non-Elim like because I'm not an Elim? I want to vote on Mage, as your arguments ring true with me, but I'm not sure how you're going to take it. Ah, well. Magestar. Hopefully if he's an Elim, it will help to gain your trust.
  5. Yeah, all right. Darkness Ascendant. That should be enough that tampering and isn't worth the cost.
  6. Which clarification is that? I would guess that Sheep was due to die of inactivity before we killed him. Which, given that he was checking in regularly, seems odd, but who knows why he did what he did.
  7. Ecth, once again I have to ask, what points can you bring to bear against either? I'm never a fan of voting without clearly articulated justification. Myself, I'm looking at Sart. As others have said, his vote on Jondesu seems very like an attempt to gain trust off of an already certain lynch. When I've got a bit, I'm going to go over his activity for analysis.
  8. Ah, well. There goes my perfect game. I will be very interested to hear from Sheep after this game is over.
  9. Hm. Well, that's worrying, I suppose, but not enough to make me risk vote manipulation. Victory before life. What do they gain from exercising this kill?
  10. That's fine, Joe. Mage, I've heard the term Jester a few times this game, but I'm unfamiliar with it. Could you explain it?
  11. No, because he has checked the site multiple times since the vote was laid on him and he received multiple summons, he has been consistently active in Discord, and yet he persists in radio silence here. I put a vote on him to poke him into activity. He ignored it. These are the consequences. EDIT: Ninja'd by Alv. His points are also valid.
  12. I'm not complaining about your voting alongside me, but I would recommend you read through the thread, and think about what everyone has said, not just me. Maybe come to some opinions of your own. It seems like Sheep is going to be the lynch for tonight, but it can't hurt to practice thinking analytically.
  13. Nathan, that's not really sensitive information. Look back over the thread. Basically all we talk about in this game is who we're going to lynch and why. I, for example, am voting on Sheep because he is faking inactivity, and has ignored multiple attempts to summon him to defend himself.
  14. @AliasSheep was online just three hours ago, and has not made even the most cursory effort to defend himself or explain his silence. My vote holds firm.
  15. Sheep was online 23 minutes ago, just in time to read the rollover. He is most certainly not inactive. @AliasSheep, I really want to hear your side of this. Why are you being so punctual about checking up, but saying nothing?
  16. Well, huzzah, then. I have laid three votes, and lynched three Nobles. I'm rather proud of that. Hm. No Eliminator kill. What should we take from that? Yeah, I had just noticed the same thing, Alv. Sheep.
  17. Ripple, Ecth, do you really think the Elims were foolish enough to stack three of their votes together cycle 1? both of you have put summary votes on Rae with little to no justification, as if the situation regarding her hasn't just drastically changed. Why are you both still so certain of her guilt?
  18. Oh. Wow. Seven deaths. Okay, I don't have a clear target this cycle, but right now I'm looking at Ripple and Ecth. Ecth for the erratic behavior everyone's buzzing about, Ripple because she tried to argue in Jondesu's defense, but did so hesitantly, as though afraid to implicate herself. I am nowhere near certain of either of them, but I know discussion without teeth is often worthless. So, with that in mind, Ripple. EDIT: Oh, and I'm also in agreement with Alvron's read on Rae. It helps her case that she took part in the Jondesu lynch.
