@Frustration the idea that Nightblood can single handedly take on the entire army of the Fused is a bit...( ahh I can’t think of a word that’s not gonna come off disrespectful hmmmm how about slightly impossible) First off Nale can beat Szeth quiet soundly as we see when he attacks Dalinar. Additionaly the fused can just keep on sending Regals to fight him until he dies. Also Szeth almost dies in Theylan field and that was a pretty small battle. Its not that hard as Lananya said to throw it in the ocean in an aluminum foil case. Szeth can do damage but not that much damage

They get 100% percent credit for helping the war effort But not for the creation I’m assuming your talking about Nightblood ( sorry if your not) I’m just going to point out that A-light helps Radiants a lot more than the Fused. 1: It’s extremely difficult to hit a spren with a dagger at the same time your fighting a Radient 2: all Radients have to do is strike the Fused. And Nightblood is in the hands of one of the most unstable person on Roshar.

I’m confused @The Technovore what are you trying to say? That Navani is a scientist or that she gets credit for Anti-Light if it’s the second it makes very little sense. Why should I give credit to someone for creating an already existing substance. on the first point there is a much better argument. I don’t think anyone would say she isn’t really good at the art of Fabrials. Edit: The difference is that we know who created it first and so did Navani

She could have waited until she was liberated until she did And if you tell me that she did because she didn’t know if she would be freed then she shouldn’t make it at all. The fact that Gavilar might not have created it means nothing. Navani wasn’t the first. End of story. If you feel that that doesn’t make a difference I respect that but disagree

Sorry about the tone. I’m really bad at writing texts with the correct language. None of that was to imply a snarky or superior attitude. The quotes were from RoW when Raboniel threatened to destroy her lab if she didn’t get the notes.

So let me get this clear: She made a super weapon for the enemy, knew the enemy was lying about the reason they wanted it, did it anyway. And then proceeded to make a more dangerous version of it. Keep the process written down in a notebook on her counter. And hand it over willingly so Raboniel doesn’t ‘destroy’ the room. I’m glad you forgive me for thinking she shouldn’t be trusted with one of the most powerful power sets on Roshar.

All the Kholinar had proven their worth before became a Radiant. The sibling took the bond out of pure desperation, and was sweet talked by Navani. If Navani can prove that she can handle the responsibilities without making world changing mistakes then there would be an argument for her having the bond. But the one time she was under intense pressure ( political conversation are not pressure) she colluded with the enemy in full cooperation mode. Only using a bare minimal effort to keep the most dangerous technology hidden.

I did know that when I wrote it but it doesn’t matter one bit to the actual facts because we know who invented Anti-Light. and we’re all that matters She did not need the sphere for this. She could have found the Tone and stoped. There was no reason to give Raboniel the means to destroy their greatest strength.

I’m not understanding the argument your trying to make. She is a scientist. Great. What’s that have to do with anything. If you asked Navani what her job is she will say “patron of ardents” So she got lucky. When she created the sphere there is no way to know she would eventually find a knife in the corner of the room containing A-light I also specifically said the sphere and not the tone.

If I would have been on the Shard I would have. I can’t speak fort anyone else Someone can be very talented and not have this as a priority. This is how she describes herself and how everyone else does to. What death would have happened if she had not created A-Light in a sphere?

She had a sphere of A-Light before. And crafted hypothesis around it. And she got it right first try with destructive interference I identify as a human, and so this is true. Yah in a perfect world we would credit Navani with the creation but in reality (or however close to reality the Cosmere is in ) it’s first gets credit. Now all Navani gets credit for is the mass production. I have no clue.
