  1. She nodded. "Ok." She said, tears still streaming down her face.
  2. "Well, I was alone, and then the ground started disappearing. Then Terrance showed up, and this voice was all like 'dont go to the underworld. Also there's a traitor' and then everything went dark, and Terrance slipped. I tried to help him but..." Her eyes started watering. "He'd rather die, apparently."
  3. Elsie heard, and sat up, wiping her eyes. "H-hello? Is anyone there?"
  4. Elsie heard something, and scrambled away from the void, tears still streaming down her face.
  5. Elsie was on her knees, sobbing in the darkness.
  6. "TERRANCE-" She screamed.
  7. "Terrance? Please. I can't... I don't want to be alone. Please. Please... Terrance? You still there?"
  8. "Please. I don't want to be alone. Don't leave me. Please." She begged, desperate.
  9. "Or, you know, you could grab onto my hand and I could pull you up." She said, a level of desperation entering her voice.
  10. She paused. "Oh. Right. I forgot that for a moment there." She said sheepishly.
  11. "DUDE. IT'S LITERALLY TRUST ME OR DIE." She yelled, panicking.
  12. "Why not? This is a possible life or death situation!" She said, freaking out a bit.
  13. "Just grab my hand! Please!" She said, holding out her hand for him to grab.
  14. She let out a cry of panic. "Terrance? Please don't die." She said, scooting back a bit.
  15. Elsie immediately started feeling around until she grabbed one of his hands, and tried pulling him up.
  16. "Well. It was weird." She said. "And, uh, are we gonna talk about what the voice said?
  17. "Beware the traitor." Everything went dark. They were still on the small piece of field, but it had become impossible to see. "... The heck was that?"
  18. "Yeah, I'd rather, you know, not be here." "Stop your march to the underworld. It is vanity." Elsie turned to Terrance, face betraying her confusion.
  19. "Thanks. And fair enough. But I actually-" She was rudely interrupted by a voice. It was hard to distinguish, as if it was a million voices speaking together. Yet somehow, it seemed to almost not exist at all. "You should not be here, children."
  20. She yelped, stumbling back, and almost over the edge into the void.
  21. "Why do you expect me to know?!?!" She asked.
  22. "I don't wanna fall into the void, and the land keeps vanishing quite suddenly. It's freaking me the heck out. Not to mention how ominous everything looks."
  23. She paused. "...Terrance?"
  24. "NOPE. Not today!" She said, backing away from the edge. She had only been backing away for about 2 minutes before she stepped off another edge. She shrieked, and barely managed to pull herself back up. Much of the field had disappeared. The sky, previously full of stars, was now a blood red that faded to black the closer it got to the void. She felt a spike of pure unbridled panic. What if more disappeared? What if she fell into the nothingness? She felt as if she would simply cease to exist if that happened, although she wasn't sure why.
