  1. "I'll make my best effort of it." Raviid pulled himself off of Lyanor's shoulders and began slowly ascending once Kazh had gone past.
  2. "What kind of danger does it present, and to whom?"
  3. "I know what to look for," Night's Blossom replied. To her, it really was that simple: she had gotten a good enough idea of the material from the sample she'd examined that she suspected she could seek it out blindfolded.
  4. "I suppose you're right." Night's Blossom fell silent, contining to chip away amid a steady flow of silvery dust.
  5. "I'm sorry that happened to you."
  6. Night's Blossom spent a moment considering different options before simply replying, "Far away."
  7. "Ah. Thank you." Night's Blossom grabbed the pick, giving it a few experimental swings before beginning to dig in the area she had indicated a moment ago.
  8. "If she wanted to hurt you, I think she'd have a much easier time with a knife at the moment," Raviid commented from Lyanor's shoulder.
  9. Night's Blossom picked up a grain of the dust, examining it for a moment. "Interesting. I'll have to investigate its properties in more depth later. You'll find the highest density digging in that direction, however," she said, pointing towards a spot to the left of her. "Do you have a spare implement?"
  10. "I am inclined to agree. What is it that you mine?"
  11. "By randomly rewriting my position within reality. I would not recommend the experience, to be frank."
  12. "Night's Blossom. People usually refer to me as Blossom or some derivative thereof."
  13. "This has been somewhat less than productive, then," Night's Blossom said, dusting herself off. "A pleasure to make your acquaintances, in any case."
  14. "I... see. Does this location have a name?"
  15. "Oh. That's unfortunate. Is time irregular here, or do you simply lack a way to keep track?"
  16. "Relatively speaking, yes. Would you mind telling me what year it is?"
  17. "I hope not to make a habit out of this," he muttered wearily.
  18. After a lengthy struggle, Raviid managed to create a haphazard binding for himself. It wouldn't last long or work nearly as well as the old one, and in the long term it would probably do more harm than good, but it would keep him alive and aware for the moment. The glow faded to a muted blue light, and he pushed himself up the wall, standing shakily.
  19. Raviid slumped against a nearby wall, struggling both to stop his body from unraveling and to keep his own power contained. He nodded vaguely in Elya's direction, hazily sending another tendril of power to heal her and Ji. "I'll catch up," he choked out. "Get the others out."
  20. Raviid glowed brightly with power, splitting his focus throughout the room. At the same time he healed Ji, he reached out his Foretelling to Elya, speeding her up and rapidly closing her wounds. He spread a web of power around the perimeter of the room to slow anything that tried to come through, and took a breath, realizing he hadn't since unbinding himself. It still wasn't enough. The power was going to burn through him at this rate. The world seemed to be slowing down, but he couldn't tell if that was his subconscious use of his power or just a delusion brought on by its influence.
  21. Raviid swore loudly, raising a hand to slow the Deathgranter, then stopped. It wouldn't be enough. Swearing again, he reached inward, unraveling the Foretelling around himself. Immediately, he could feel his cells beginning to die, but the constraint around his power was gone as well. Waving a hand, he accelerated the corpses, disintegrating them into gray dust. The rush of power threatened to overwhelm him, so he focused on Ji, deftly manipulating both sides of his power to rapidly heal his wounds.
  22. Raviid dragged Ji away from the fight, renewing his effort to slow the brother. He slowed the corpses with barely a thought-without a soul to resist him, they were no more difficult to affect than objects-and began binding Ji's wounds, tearing up his jacket to do so. "This would be a highly annoying time for anyone to die. I don't plan on letting them."
  23. Night's Blossom had no perception of time, or of anything, in the void, but she nonetheless felt the tug of reality upon her. Though she knew it would hasten the return, she nonetheless consciously willed herself away from the pit, aimlessly throwing herself back into the world.
  24. Raviid puffed out a cloud of smoke, standing up and reaching out a hand to slow both the knife enthusiast and Elya's bleeding. "Get out of here. I'll play tag for a bit."
