  1. "I had those. I don't want to lose them again."
  2. "You can just make up your own, then."
  3. "Why not? Why live by the rules everyone else makes for you, if you don't have to?" Rima seemed to be talking to herself more than Josten as she spoke.
  4. "You don't, though. Have to deal with it, I mean. But you do anyways."
  5. "And... can I stay here?"
  6. "Where is here?" Rima quickly took a few steps away, looking at the sand cautiously.
  7. Rima spent some time considering, then grabbed onto his arm.
  8. "Away from all the fighting. Somewhere quiet." Rima cautiously grabbed the edge of his shirt.
  9. "Yes." Rima frowned, then decided she owed this man some politeness. "...Thank you."
  10. "That sounds nice."
  11. "So you're homeless? Me too."
  12. "Where do you live?"
  13. Rima picked up a muffin absentmindedly. Ice immediately began crystallizing on it, but she didn't notice. "Nothing better to do?"
  14. "Why do you have a closet full of muffins?"
  15. Rima frowns. "You're strange. I don't like sweet things. Where are we?"
  16. "I'm not the one who would've died there," Rima said softly.
  17. "If it's hard for you, why did you take me? Why didn't you just keep yourself safe?"
  18. "What do you want?" Rima's hands shook, the air beginning to chill and frost spreading around her feet in an expanding ring.
  19. Rima stared at Josten with a mix of fear and revulsion. "Let go of me. Please."
  20. "Rima. You're too loud. You should hide." Rima began creeping towards the entrance to the barn, then stopped, paralyzed with shock and fear as she saw men in black uniforms heading towards it.
  21. "A... moron?" Rima muttered to herself. She could feel the magic pouring off him, though she didn't recognize the feeling. Just oddness.
  22. Rima reacted instantly to the apparent threat, grabbing the sharpened spit and throwing herself behind the side of the barn for cover. "Stay away! I don't want to- muffins?"
  23. Rima crouched down outside of the barn she'd been sleeping in for the past few days, gently trying to coax a guttering fire. The cold didn't bother her much, but a warm meal was always more pleasant. As she began setting up a spit for the rabbit she'd caught earlier, she heard footsteps moving in her direction. @DramaQueen
