"Sure, sure." Raviid took a step forward, stumbling and bumping into Ji. "Sorry, this must have been taking more out of me than I realized. I'll catch up in a second."

"You know, I can't say I'm a fan of the way you operate. I think I may need to make a few changes to your plan."

Raviid quickly repeated the process on the other two leftward guards with a speed clearly born of practice. "I can hold this for a good while, but not forever, so let me know when you're done."

Raviid calmly disarmed the man, then removed his jacket and used it to tie his hands behind his back, gently lowering him to the ground as he did. "I'll take the left side. If you would follow my example on the right?"

"Just try not to hurt them more than necessary, alright? I'd like to avoid any fatalities." Raviid stepped around the corner, slowing each guard as soon as they entered his line of sight. Keeping alert, he began walking towards the nearest one.

Raviid smiled thinly. "How subtle do you want to be about this? I've got a few broad concepts."

"Nicely done," Raviid murmured. "I can handle the security elements if you don't mind taking care of any objectionable residents in the meantime."

Raviid moves swiftly and silently along, glancing back once to assess Ji's progress before continuing ahead.

"Sure thing." Raviid stuck his hands into his pockets and walked over to Ji.

"A minute, maybe a few seconds more if I really pushed myself."

"I can hold someone for as long as my concentration holds, but that goes much farther with a single person than with a group."

"I'd like to get this done without any conflict at all. I suppose the rest of you wouldn't know subtlety if it hit you over the head?"

"I should be able to minimize bloodshed, as long as no one does anything overly psychopathic." Raviid tapped his chin, considering. "Actually, if you all are certain of your plan, why don't you let me handle the personnel? It should make things that much faster."

"I'm fine with either, but I suspect that was rhetorical. Let's be off, then."

"I'm sure this'll go swimmingly, but I'll tag along on the offchance that this ingenious plan backfires somehow and you need an exit. Unless you have any objection?" Raviid pulled out a cigarette, lighting it by slowing it down and then flicking his wrist down with massive force. Inhaling, he glanced at the others.

"I am most grateful for your assistance, Master. Is there any way I could assist you in the present or future?"

"Any other lunatics keen on showing up, or do we have a quorum?"

"Well, it certainly wasn't intended as a compliment."

"Oh, sure! Just come on in, there's plenty of room. Nice to meet you, by the way."

"And another one! Can I help you, miss? We're a little busy at the moment, but nothing to worry about!" Raviid smiled somewhat manically at the newcomer.

Possessing no means of reconciling her previous reality with her current circumstances, Vora exited the cave where she awoke, stepping out into the sunlight.

Raviid walked out of the room, releasing Elya as he did. "Who's this now? Are we getting another gremlin for the pile?"
