  1. I wonder if the towerlight fading so quickly is due to the nature of the light itself or that it is produced and connected to the sibling.
  2. The weight medallions that they use on the airship allow them to store weight without issue so it might be that the way the medallions are created only allow the attribute to go one way in normal usage. Maybe the intent is imprinted on the medallion and something else is needed to change it. So you create a medallion to store weight or provide heat but an extra step or tool is needed to switch it to tap weight or store heat. The intent being imprinted on the medalion would explain why they can be used differently to standard metal minds. My guess would be that it is to do with the investiture stored in the nicrosil part of the medallion. Investiture can carry intent so it could be you focus on that intent when it is stored in the nicrosil metalmind
  3. Yeah, a spike is likely one way to do it but I think there must be other ways. I think connection is key as we've seen adhesion manipulates spirtual connection to allow people to speak other languages so it might allow you to make other similar spiritual hacks. We've seen a couple of examples of people making minor physical changes in stormlight. Hoid and the terris steward made themselves look more alethi and at least in Hoids case this must have been a physical change as his illusions were limited when he first came to roshar.
  4. Perhaps both connection and identity manipulation. Identity to blank your own identity and connection to connect to an external identity to trick the healing process.
  5. Healing with investiture by restoring the body to the state that a person views as themselves. Could you instead use connection to something external (eg. another person) to restore the body to a different image?
  6. Marsh has access to atium which even in a short burst would pretty much put the fight in his hands.
  7. Is there any chance that the skybreakers would attack urithiru?
  8. Taravangian seems to be going down the route of being the only god like rayse but that does not mean he intends to destroy all the shards. He might see taking the other shards himself as a way to balance the passion he feels overwhelmed by.
  9. It might just be that the amount of harmonium needed to fuel it for short bursts is quite low as it is concentrated investure. It might take a while but it will probably need more fuel eventually.
  10. I wonder what would happen if you added an aluminium chamber around the equipment used to make the anti-light? I think the way to make unkeyed light will be to break the Connection with the associated shard and aluminium would be a good starting point for that.
  11. I do wonder what the limitations of this would be. What would happen if she tried to manifest them the way she has used real beads instead of using them as a pattern? I don't think it would work but it would be interesting to see what happened instead. Also, makes me wonder what benefits other armor spren would have in shadesmar. I don't think we have seen enough of the armor spren, particularly in shadesmar, to really speculate much though.
  12. In the last few chapters it was mentioned that Shallan was more easily find the beads she needs and it the most recent ones it shows that the bonded creation spren like pretending to be beads. Are these beads she finds just the creation spren taking the form of what she needs and if she realises this could she just ask them to become a specific bead whilst in shadesmar?
  13. The reference to things being less common by the books author. Could that just be referring to bonds and that because of the conflict ending due to the contest of champions not as many spren are interested in forming a bond? In that case the spren forming bonds are just the ones who want to explore the physical realm rather than feeling a need to help defend roshar.
  14. So far we have seen 2 fabrial cities, elantris and urithiru. Do you think we will see more of these in future books and what do you think they will be like based on the other magic systems? Elantris provides illumination and transportation to it's residents, amplifies AonDor and potentially is invloved in causing the shaod. Urithiru manipulates surges to make living there comfortable and also provides investiture to radiants and keeps any surges attached to other objects running (we have only seen adhesion so far but I think it is a safe bet to say it will extend to others as well, permenant light weavings and lashings would be interesting) The common theme is to enhance the abilities of those invested whilst also providing some lmited access to investiture to all residents.
  15. If you had a gemstone on a misty night and hit it with the right tone would it then fill with the relevant mist?
  16. I thought you were just referring to the title. I think Kaladin is likely involved in the book but I can't imagine him putting "and Truth" in the title. I think Shallan or Szeth as @Subvisual Haze suggests would be a likely candidate for that aspect. Could be a more collabrative text and undertext situation.
  17. But she is all about Truth and lies. It could also be both of them working together.
  18. Could it be Shallan? She must have been watched by the spren since early on.
  19. I think it would make sense for lift to use it as well. Kaladin mentions the tower itself is infused, maybe being within the tower is enough to infuse gems and radiants. I don't think that it has mentioned that Kaladin had to actively try to breathe in stormlight whilst in the highstorms so potentially similar. With regard to Moash I wonder if the damage was caused by the combination of his connection to odium being forcibly severed by the anti-tone and then being affected by towerlight. The damage has left him still able to form bonds but not to the same extent as before. Reminds me of the deadeyes a bit. As a side note, will the radiants be able to use warlight? I imagine Venli or Renarin and Rlain would be the most likely to be able to.
  20. Perhaps it is similar to the difference between adhesion for bondsmiths and windrunners. A bondsmith can do everything the windrunners have shown so far with that surge but can additonally access more spiritual aspects of it. The additional bond for shallan is giving a deeper connection to the surges allowing her to access to more spiritual manifistations. At the end of oathbringer I think I remember Jasnah mentioning Shallan's illusions having a bit of substance to them like she was partially using soulcasting as well. I wonder if that is something all lightweavers can do or just Shallan
  21. I think used in an isolated environemnt ant-investiture would function very similarly to to standard investiture. But normal investiture is generally present in the cosmere and so any chance interaction will have an effect. If they have direct contact with each other then they would destoy each other. However being near but not in contact might have other effects. The negative tones repelled standard investiture. Would anti-investiture and standard investiture have a similar effect on each other? We have only seen what happens when they are forced into a gemstone together. I am imagining fabrials with anti-light making it hard for invested entities to even approach.
  22. I was thinking about Ishar creating physical bodies for spren and it occured to me that this is effectively what happens to the heralds during the desolations. The heralds at this point are cognitive shadows which are essentially a type of spren. They die in desolations, go to braize and eventually give up and return to Roshar. At some point in that they get new bodies, I am assuming that is a function or side effect of the oathpact. So he seems to be trying to replicate what was done to himself and the other heralds. Perhaps Ishar is planning on breaking the last vestiges of the oathpact but wants to ensure that he can create new bodies for himself or others after that occurs. Or perhaps he is trying to find a way to create new heralds and is using the spren as test subjects.
  23. Could you convert a spren to become an anti-spren? spren are just pieces of investiture that have gained awareness so could the same or similar process be used on them? This then leads to all sorts of questions about how fabrials, surges etc would react when using the converted spren.
  24. They are both controlled at least to an extent by an intelligence which makes them tricky to predict. The highstorms by the stormfather and the mists by harmony. I think harmony uses the mists directly to influence events a bit (seems a bit of a coincidence that the mists are present whenever wax has to do something especially important). The stormfather can and has done the similar in the past but I think his nature makes that an exception. As that is the case i think it will be harder for any pattern in the mists to be detected. There is also the possibility they will change as Harmony becomes Discord.
  25. I wonder what would happen if you awakended an ice sculpture and then let it melt
