  1. Therim watched as the man got up and left the room. Chance is random, yes. People are not random, he thought, but dismissing it quickly. It mattered little, and there was no point in arguing. "I suppose it is just you and me then, Bell," Therim said as he turned to face him. "But before we begin, you mentioned something about the hospital?" Therim's eye twitched slightly as he spoke. "I had heard of some sort of disturbance there." @Arlin
  2. Therim, turned with his eyebrow raised to face the man who had spoken. "Macaroons and a game of breakneck? Sounds good to me," Therim replied as he pulled the breakneck stones out of his pocket again. "My name is Therim, a gleeman by trade." Then, turning to the others at the table, he remarked, "Breakneck is actually not a game of gambling. That's a misconception many people make. There is no betting on chance in breakneck. The only wagering that occurs is after the throws." Therim paused for a moment, then continued. "But if you have matters to attend to, please don't let an old man like me keep you." "Bell, you said your name was?" Therim inquired as he turned to face the younger man who had spoken before. "Well my lad," Therim said whilst pulling up a chair, "if you don't mind, I think I'll have one of those cookies." @Arlin@Rushu42@EmulatonStromenkiin@mathiau
  3. "Sorry to bother you then. I'll leave you to your business." Placing the stones in his pocket, Therim shifted the lute on his back, then turned and made his way towards his room.
  4. Sorry, I didn't know, but honestly im not surprised
  5. Should I revise my character a bit? I thought (mistakenly) that this was FFRP. I can change my character so it fits better with the general plot @Channelknight Fadran
  6. "Wise words" Therim mused, rubbing his chin, "though I wouldn't go around mentioning that to just anyone." Tossing Tashi a chip, he said "But thank you for allowing me to bother you. You've been very helpful." He smiled at her, then turned, got up and began to walk across the room. Therim was calm as he walked up to the group, though his limp slowed him. When he got close to their table, he reached into the inner pocket of his cloak and pulled out several stones with markings on them. Scanning the faces of the group before he spoke, he asked "Any of you up for a game of breakneck?" @EmulatonStromenkiin@Rushu42@Arlin@mathiau@ZincAboutIt
  7. Yeah your probably right, the eyebrows most likely don't have any real meaning beyond cool/weird cultural traits.
  8. I really hope the in-world book is like this: just a bunch of poems by Wit
  9. The eyebrows could also have something to do with the Passions. As far as I know, the Thaylens are the main people who worship them, so maybe the eyebrows are part of the culture of the Passions. That would kind of explain why the eyebrows are so unique to the Thaylens, but I'm also just grasping at straws here.
  10. "Ah, Tashi. A sweet name. Reminds me of my...oh nevermind. I go by Therim Daenyron." Once again, Therim glanced at the table that Tashi had pointed out, and he frowned slightly. Nodding toward the group, he asked, "Before I see to my room, could you tell me of those people? Why would they know of any oddities?"
  11. Let's also not forget that Kaladin took down Helaran (who was a full shardbearer), despite not having any shards or swearing any ideals. It was just him, a spear, and a bit of luck. If he can do that, I think that as a fourth ideal knight, he'd be fine against a bunch of shardbearers
  12. Hey Alex! Welcome, it's storming awesome to see new people on the shard!
  13. Therim looked over at the table the woman had pointed at and his eyes narrowed. Curious, he thought. He looked back at the woman and said "Thank you, any bed is better than the street. And I'll be ready to perform in just a bit. I simply need to get my mind ready." Therim began to walk away with a sweep of his cloak, but then paused and turned, shifting the lute on his back. Looking the woman in the eye, he said "I must have missed your name. What is it that you are called?" @ZincAboutIt
  14. I'm not saying that the Heralds should have been perfect, we know that they aren't, and that's ok. I'm saying that Vorin church holds then in such high standards, so it would be ironic if the stories they told about the ten fools were actually stories of their demigods that the believe are perfect beings. I mean sure, looking back, the Oathpact was probably not the best idea. But we don't really know how many other options the Heralds had, and they did not have the same blessing of hindsight that we do.
  15. Therim looked up and spotted the woman who had spoken. "A gleeman, actually," He replied, "and I'd be happy to share my songs and stories. All I need in return is a meal and a bed." Therim paused and reached up to scratch at his chin. "But I must ask, what sort of strange happenings do you mean?" @ZincAboutIt
  16. There might be some creation myth about their eyebrows that explains it, sort of like the story Wit told, the one about the moon and the Natan queen that explains the Natan people's blue skin
  17. It was early afternoon when Therim walked into the inn. Mac's Boarding House. Hmmm, this'll do, I suppose, he thought. When he entered, the room was mostly empty, except for a few. Therim walked up to a man sitting at one of the tables, the one sloppily drinking, of all things, a mug of horneater white. " Pardon me, but do you happen to know the owner?" Therim asked the man. The man turned in his chair to face Therim, and he noticed the lute strapped to Therim's back. "Whut aure you, somma kind of jester?" the man asked. Slightly insulted, but keeping his poise, Therim replied "I am a gleeman, a traveler giving stories and music to those that would hear it". The man blinked, took a swig from his mug, burped loudly and then said "Owner of the joint shoulda be outta their office inna bit. You canna talk to them then". "Thank you" Therim replied. Stormfather, that man needs someone to take the drink from him. "I'll wait out here for them"
  18. There is some potential for their relationship, but because of Shallan's previous (and maybe future) interactions with the Ghostbloods, I doubt she and Jasnah will ever really get along. However, I do want to see how Shallan and Pattern's interactions play out, mainly because Shallan may be less trusting of Pattern, and also because Pattern now knows the Shallan killed Testament. It could be interesting.
  19. Also if I could get a quick rundown of how I should go about making new threads, that would be awesome
