The man sniffed at the mention of clearance. When he spoke he tried his best to hide the venom in his voice, but barely failed. "If you'll forgive me, but I have a hard time believing that an independent like yourself would be in such a hush-hush op." He looked as if he wanted to say more, but after a quick glance at the other soldiers, he decided to hold his tongue, for now.

As the soldiers escorted the group, the masked man approached Jay. "Duster, do you know anyone specific that I can call for, or will I have to get someone to vouch for you the hard way?"

"Sergeant, call ahead and tell them to get medics ready for our arrival. Tell them we have wounded."

The masked man took note of this, then he gestured for one of the soldiers to help Aryanna walk. @Ookla the Channelknight

The masked man nodded, "near the temporary HQ, we'll be able to get everything straightened out there."

The masked man looked slightly puzzled at Lloyd, but reframed from asking any questions as he led to soldiers back the way that he came.

One of the soldiers grumbled seemingly to himself, "could give him a demonstration."

Ros was having an obviously hard time connecting that thought with Crescendo. He then gave Crescendo a look that conveyed both a tone of gravity and an attempt at giving comfort. "I have a hard time seeing your hands as the wrong ones."

The masked man nodded towards his men, "third squad, take them in. I'll accompany you to send a communique to the Amarians and see if we can get this sorted out. First and second, continue to scout out the area. I'll send reinforcements this way ASAP." A squad of soldiers approached the group, still looking uneasy with their weapons ready.

The sergeant turned to the masked man while his man kept careful watch of both the group and their surroundings. "Claim to be independent Dusters sir, some sort of covert op." The masked man nodded, then turned towards the group. When he spoke, his voice had a very gravelly texture. "We'll take them in for questioning. We'll decide your fate when you're properly identified. Who authorized your op Duster?"

"Raodean Army. Hold your position until the C-O comes." Just as the soldier finished speaking another team of soldiers made their way into view, they were accompanied by a large man who stood out despite wearing the same uniform. His face was partially covered by a bronze mask that was strapped to cover the left half of his face; it was molded to resemble the basic shape of a face. His shoulders were covered by pauldrons, with more armor covering his arms. He walked much like how a predator stalked, moving quickly, although not quite as silently. The masked man spoke as he approached the first group of soldiers, "report sergeant."

Pior made a motion as if he were taking a drink, then he shook his head saying, "no, I'm sober."

"See? Practically twins."

The men did not lower they guns. "Then keep your hands visible, make no sudden movements!" He then spoke to his companion without moving his eyes from the group. "Get the C-O up here, he'll be interested in these."

Pior shook his head. "She can't be that young, can she? She looks like she's around your age."

The man gestures to one of his companions, who then steps back behind the rest and speaks into a held-held radio. "Keep your hands visible. The rest of you, identify yourselves!"

'What do they call it? A 'term of endearment' I think."

A small unit of men in uniforms and weapons came into view, all of them on high alert. One of the men shouted at the group, "hands where we can see them! Identify yourselves!"

"Not always hot eyes, just ask your girlfriend or her brother."

A voice came from afar off. "Scout the next area, move!"

'I know how you guys work, rely on the fact that I got no way to tell if your lying." "You're only saying that because it's true!"

"Hey! I'm not that slow! I see how it is, picking on the one guy who ain't an amal or got any special eyes."

"I knew that." "I'm right behind you."

"Forgive me Crescendo, but surely it can't be that bad. After all, it is a surge as given to us by the Almighty."

Ooh, excellent idea. Although this leads us to an incredibly important question, tone. Do we want a more whimsical tone that's generally applied to comic books, or do we want something more serious and "nitty gritty?"
