  1. The youth watched as Ellis walked out the door. "Counting idiot, I said as suspicious as possible. No wonder we picked him up so easily. Now Benthen, see if you can run this sword down to headquarters, find out how much it's actually worth before he comes back." "If you didn't know, why'd ya let 'im go?" "Benthen Benthen Benthen, I do the thinking, remember? Just see if my estimate was right. Cill will stay with me and our new friend here. Let's see if she wakes up. Oh, and Benthen, send a sketch artist down will you? I want to add these two to our database." Benthen nodded and hid the sword on his person before leaving the room. The youth turned to a small stack of papers that were sitting int he corner, whipped out a pen, and started to work on them.
  2. "The door behind you, and look as suspicious as you can when you walk out."
  3. "I don't remember that being a part of our agreement. Although if I were you, I would watch my tongue by the Gilmen District, not many people there are fond of others speaking against the Death Angels." The youth ended his sentence with a wink.
  4. "Right." The youth gestured to one of his associates who took off the bindings, watching Ellis very closely all the while.
  5. The youth smiled. "Perfect. Now, you get back to me when you're in a position where you can get the information, and I'll give you any direction that trickles down the chain. Don't worry about a thing, both your friend and your sword will be safe with me, just remember to come back for them; we do have such an efficient bureaucracy after all."
  6. "I don't know about that, this is a dangerous city after all. I wouldn't want her getting in trouble if I were you, and you both seemed incredibly talented at finding trouble the first time. She could stay with us here, no harm would come to her, especially since we have you out in the field for us."
  7. "Perfect; I'd have to run this by my boss, but if you could get in, then all we would need is just meeting locations and names. After that's done, then you can have your sword back."
  8. "How about a Cult of Death?"
  9. "For this sword, I would think that there's quite a steep price involved. How good are you at infiltration?"
  10. "There's currently a market for services rendered, unless of course you don't want it back."
  11. "Evil? Bad? Whatever you want to call it, it's my job. Now, if you want it back, then we could work something out."
  12. "I think that you have a gross misunderstanding on how theft works. I guess that means that I could be a 'bad guy,' but there's an order to these things, and we can't be going against that."
  13. "My current possession of it says otherwise. You got something else that you wanna give up?"
  14. Me neither. So that's why I said the whole bit about the gamble. I'm just the cameo/extra Role player after all.
  15. About to make a gamble/assumption because I can't remember the details, so feel free to correct me. "Your friend's sword tells us otherwise; it's rather easy to take something from someone when they aren't conscious. Just assent that you give it to us, and that will satisfy the policy.
  16. "Payment, we'll keep our dogs off of your heels for a price. I can't let you walk unless you give me a valuable asset. It will be your punishment for interference."
  17. "Oh I don't think you understand; we got a policy to uphold, and to let you go scot-free would be directly against it."
  18. The youth shook his head. "I assure you 'new guy,' we aren't just a gang, and I can't have you leaving just yet; it's our policy for those who disturb someone under our management. Now, I hope my associates won't have to encourage you to stay, we only have just started."
  19. 'You're in the hands of the Parvis Dolor Ira Populo, and we don't take miscreants like you lightly; especially when you come in on our turf."
  20. The youth snapped into a serious demeanor at that comment. "I'm not used to dealing with idiots like you, I mostly deal with idiots like these fellows." The youth gestured to the thugs behind him. "You on the other hand, you're a special kind of stupid. I almost want your friend to wake up to see if she's as dumb as you. Now tell me, do you know who we are?"
  21. The spindly youth burst out in squeaky laughter. He tried to catch his breath. "You're telling me . . . You're telling me that you've been going around asking who's the 'good guys?' Then you're expecting someone to tell you that they are the 'bad guys' without killing you?" The youth burst into another bout of laughter.
  22. "What are you, some wide eyed idealist from the outback? You can't possibly be this stupid, can you?"
  23. "Congratulations, you've made the biggest blunder possible in this whole counting city. You're lucky it's us who got to you, we actually like to talk with people before we decide whether or not to kill them. Now, what do you want in this city." The spindly and seemingly "nerdy" young man uses the word "counting" like a cuss word.
  24. The spindly youth spoke again in his nearly squeaky voice, "see, we can be civil. Now, what do you want with the Death Angels?"
