Welcome to the Shard Celairiel! It is the perfect time to come join us with RoW now out especially if you've been a fan for a couple years now! That must have been one pretty crazy summer to get in all of the WOT, nicely done! And yeah, if you're looking for massive epic series' the Cosmere is definitely the spot to be, give that friend a medal So happy to be your first fan forum to be in for a while! This is the perfect spot to shout about Cosmere feelings and strangely I think we'll be a tad more receptive than just the Kindle Did you like starting with Elantris or do you wish you had started elsewhere? Look forward to seeing you around! (Glad to have you back as well @Honorless, was wondering if you had succumbed to the unicorn-monkeys )

Welcome to the Shard! So happy to have you come join us if you've been a Sanderson fan for a while! Didn't see an Aether request from you over in the topic so here's the link in case you would like to request one Delighted to have you make an introduction so we can learn a little about you even if you don't think you will be that active! I mean I would say it's the Shard how can you not be active but we may be a little biased What has been your favorite series so far? Honorless and Aspiring have it right on the money there for where to put questions. This is exactly what the Shard is so amazing for is you can ask questions anytime to all our wonderful members and don't have to wait just for events! Hope you enjoy the Shard!

Oh I can totally agree with you here! Yeah like you'll be set on one character and then learn something new on someone else as you read and start liking them better... always switching around Ooh yes Vivenna and Nightblood are definitely interesting to see crossed over in SA totally! So cool Dawnshard was able to get you more into Rysn as well! Cool stuff and look forward to seeing you around!
-
Oooh interesting distinctions I like that! Yeah I could totally see having the complete story for a set would be nice. I also definitely agree though SA is best written and once that is finished... amazing!! Welcome again!
-
Absolutely! We need like a special Sanderson protection force here or something! And man, now you're talking! You know sometimes as I read I get so absorbed in the book itself it's easy to forget there's actually a much larger story going on here you are absolutely right! Totally, when all that is revealed, oh my we are going to be in for a ride!! Nicely said! Oh and a doodley boodley detail here cuz corrections make you feel so welcomed Lols no biggie but mods prefer if you keep everything in one post rather than a few. You can tap the plus icon next to Quote on everyone posts you want to reply to quote them all at once in one mega post!

Welcome (back) to the Shard Indigo! Awesome to have you back with us and with RoW out it is the perfect time! I would agree with Bearer the last years may have been a little more working but this year has been cranking with new stuff! I would totally agree with your WoR favorite there so far that is my absolute favorite SA book! You really start to see the characters each come into their own with their powers and really learn more about their past it is just so perfectly fit together. What's your favorite Cosmere series? Look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome to the Shard! If you've been reading here for months it is the perfect time to join So glad to have you sign up and add you to our ranks! Mistborn is an excellent starting spot and the perfect place to fall in love! With RoW now out there has never been a better time to join We most definitely have some pretty amazingly knowledgable members on here totally, if you've read everything Cosmere you are well on you way there! The majority of us here can totally agree with you on not having many people in our lives to talk Cosmere with so it is so awesome to have you join here so we all can discuss with you! Who has been your favorite Cosmere character? And absolutely no worries on the English you did wonderfully and we are here for everyone no matter what!
-
Welcome to the Shard green! We don't know how it took you so long to join up either, I mean c'mon what you been doing over there So happy to have you come join us and talk Cosmere! You have quite the repertoire of Cosmere books there! Hope you are having a fantastic time reading RoW as you go through Obsessed with this obsession is the perfect way to describe it, I think we all definitely feel you there! Have you gotten into any of the non-Cosmere? Look forward to seeing you around!
-
Welcome to the Shard! Delighted to have you make an introduction if you joined a few days back so we can give you the proper intro razzle dazzle So glad you've been enjoying the theories and discussion on here! We would love to hear your ideas on things as well! Super interesting you liked OB better than RoW, glad it had some really top notch moments to stand out for you though! I would have to agree with you on not being able to wait for the next book, I think if you got too long without Sanderson you might just cease to exist What's been your favorite Cosmere series? Look forward to seeing you around!
-
Ooh alright those are definitely good ones to read, so good you enjoyed! I would also highly recommend the Alcatraz books to go with the Reckoners whenever you get the chance. Reckoners is a more serious fantasy add on and Alcatraz is a more silly fantasy add on. The Alcatraz books are just so unique and hilarious in their tone I always gotta be sure to plug em Welcome again!
-
You got it, no worries at all! Looks perfect! Oh and cool cool gotten through most the Cosmere indeed! I would definitely agree with Bearer here that focus sounds perfect those are some of the most explored so far and so they are most interesting to focus on. Welcome again!
-
Exactly like that! You got it! And I would say I have to agree on that Stormlight favorite totally. That is so crazy you started it off really with just no idea about it and then just absolutely got hooked. It is most definitely one of those series that you start off with and just go like "woh... this is epic." Hope you enjoy the Shard!
-
Welcome to the Shard! So awesome Mistborn was able to get you back into the reading game! These books and reading in general is just too awesome to be gone from for too long That is so cool that you are a geography major and reading Cosmere as well! I can only imagine all the different ways you can look at it and all the new things you can notice. These are definitely the books to be doing that with too the world building is stunning! Hope you were able to get your mind back together after having it blown, common side effect when reading Sanderson if you can believe it or not, so inconvenient If you've been into lore and Shardcast you are perfect for us! So happy to have you join! I can totally agree on the Amaram hatred, it's the mark of a well written character because man is he infuriating. What has been your favorite series? Oh and our final welcoming step says "Thou shalt make newcomers felt thy bestest by informing of error" lol no biggie just wanted to say mods prefer if you don't double post. You can tap the plus icon on multiple people's posts to quote them all at once in one mega post! Look forward to seeing you around!

GREETING YONDER BEING NAMED FANTA! HOW DOST THOU? Lols welcome to the Shard! So happy to have you join us! Reading the ENITRE friggin Cosmere is definitely a must! Awesome you are in love with Brandon as much as we are, you totally should have signed up a little while ago c'mon get it together over there Yknow that honestly doesn't sound like a bad day at work if you're reading books and playing games! Can you read books while playing games too? The interconnecting lore is totally what makes this series so epic I totally agree. It's like big superhero franchises like the MCU every new detail gives every old detail so much more meaning it is so fun to go back through and find stuff! Have you gotten through any of the Stormlight Archive yet? And yes, if you want to learn everything there is to know about the Cosmere here and the Coppermind are the perfect places to be. Look forward to seeing you around!
-
Welcome to the Shard RustedRuin! We are delighted to have you join us and honored we are your first forum experience! So great you loved RoW and decided to come join us! This is the spot to be and hope you find some excellent discussions to be a part of! The theories here are top notch and we would love to see more of yours as well! Have you read any of the other Cosmere series? Just a doodley boodley detail there as Bearer said just in case someone who hasn't gotten to RoW yet comes along we want to keep spoilers to the RoW section. You can tap edit on your last post and use the eye icon on the toolbar to make a hidden spoiler textbox to place it in. Then you normally just label it with what spoiler it has and can still put your idea! I would also go hop into anywhere in the RoW area for more in depth discussions! Look forward to seeing you around!
-
Ooh cool starting point! Easing on into it and then getting to more and more I like it And then Mistborn to start of the Cosmere is an excellent spot, nice stuff! I would definitely have to plug the Reckoners and the Alcatraz books by Brandon as other great books of his that aren't in the Cosmere realm. Alcatraz is so unique and hilarious I always gotta be sure to plug it Look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome to the Shard Gaotona! Diving is most definitely encouraged, just be careful the books go to a depth of at least 6 feet... and maybe the paperbacks only too, don't want no noggin bonking Nicely done on all the read throughs! I think if we were creating the perfect world weekly Cosmere reading days would be a must This is the perfect time to join us with RoW coming out so happy to have you here! Have you gotten into any non-Cosmere works yet? Look forward to seeing you around!

Boys. Not ONLY boys, but... Boys.
Scout_Fox replied to Channelknight Fadran's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
All good! I was pretty sure you were saying something along those lines I just though it was good to emphasize that the day celebrates something important in men's [mental] health as @Honorless said! If it were a day celebrating men being dominant I would totally agree that would be tasteless The fact that most of us didn't even know about it I think goes to Honorless's point there that men's issues are overlooked in society for the MASCULINE MEN stereotype who "don't need help" lol. The fact that male accomplishments have been recognized for ages is honestly part of what makes the day important because if you just focus on accomplishments you create a society where men feel they can't have or discuss issues! -
Boys. Not ONLY boys, but... Boys.
Scout_Fox replied to Channelknight Fadran's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Yeah I agree with @Honorless here. The fact that we have been celebrating masculinity (a predetermined idea of what every man should be) and not just men being who they want to be is the issue. It's more of a wait-men-have-problems-too-day and not a let's-celebrate-men-because-they-are-so-wonderful-day. Their infographic does a good job of showing what it is for I think. -

Yeah lol most likely. Just interesting they developed to the same sound in different places Oh and that sounds excellent! The perfect project to do tomorrow (or the next day... or the next day... *sigh* ) Wow @Honorless didn't even know that was a holiday. Happy (belated) men's day to you as well! -

Yeah when I first saw these I was laughing for like a solid 5 minutes. Apparently you guys have the same language roots here or something And yes, that's me! I actually don't think I am... was gonna look into joining that another day (jkjk we have one???) -

Lol reminds me of all these -
That is so cool that there are even some fan made fonts off of it! Oh and yeah that would be perfect to check the French version! Interesting find, does the title still translate to the same? A little while back in an intro someone was mentioning that the titles for their translation didn't even match which was super interesting. That seems like it does though right? And huh, cool stuff! So I guess it does make some sense to translate the English and leave the Alethi. It's treating it as a literal language component even if to decipher it you need to use English. Well that's really cool to know best of luck in your translations!

Welcome to the Shard! Delighted to have you come join us especially if you are sorta new to fantasy! I would say you definitely picked some good options to start out on here I can so agree on falling absolutely in love with the Cosmere! Each series is so uniquely powerful and massive, combining all of this together in one giant universe is just soooo awesome and makes it all the more awe inspiring. And dang, you've gone all out finishing everything off nicely done! Have you read anything non-Cosmere yet? Wonderful the Shard has been so useful, it is full of amazing people doing amazing things! So happy to have you come join our ranks so we can hear all your great ideas, it is absolutely the time you properly joined!
